rocky horror picture show

  • Question:-Is The Rocky Horror Picture Show appropriate for high school level kids ?
The Rocky Horror Picture Show is a phenomenal movie/show. Is The Rocky Horror Show appropriate for high school ? We will take out all of the sexual parts. We really want to do perform this show !

Answer:-take out all the sexual parts? what will you be left with?

do it. it should be interesting.
  • Question:-What is the difference between the Rocky Horror Show Live and the Rocky Horror Picture Show Live?
Are they the same thing? I have attended two viewings of the Picture Show live, where the movie is played and there is a shadow cast.
But this company says they preform the Rocky Horror Show, which I have learned is different? How different?

Answer:-There is a theatre version of the show. A complete musical version. And its called The Rocky Horror Show. It was on Broadway for a while. Look it up on youtube.
  • Question:-How can i see The Rocky Horror picture show in a theater?
Is there a list of theaters that show the Rocky Horror picture show on a regular basis?

Answer:-It depends on where you are from. There are some that continue to show every couple weeks, every month, every other month, or (mostly) just on Halloween.

I'm a regular in attending a show in Michigan. If I knew where you're located, I could help you find one.

    This is very helpful:

    You'll have a great time!
  • Question:-What to expect at the Rocky Horror Picture show in a very tiny town?
I've seen the movie tons of times, watching it at home and friend's houses but I've never been to the actual show. I know what it's all about and I would be excited to go if it wasn't in a dinky tiny rural town. Has anyone ever attended The Rocky Horror Picture show in a teeny town?

Answer:-I went last night to the one in my town (It's not very big) and it was amazing! First they asked who hadn't seen the movie before, who ever stood up had to go to the front of the theatre and got a V drawn on their head in red lipstick that stood for virgin. There was a cast acting out the movie scenes during the whole movie. Than when the movie started there was a lot of audience interaction like during certain parts you would throw different things like toilet paper, rice, playing cards, bread (toast), and squirt water guns! Plus throughout the whole movie there was a guy (part of the cast) that yelled jokes, a lot of them perverted! It was great! Since you have seen the movie before you probably will have a lot of fun! :)
  • Question:-How could I make a Rocky Horror Picture Show costume with a silver dress?
Halloween is in two days, (late planning, i know) and I REALLY want to be a character from Rocky Horror Picture Show, but i already bought a silver dress to be a flapper. What accessories could i add to it to make it one of the characters? I'd really like to be Columbia, but it's such short notice that it would be hard to get the clothes. Preferably some stuff i could get at walmart, or even make.

    Thanks in advance (:

Answer:-I would also have to say sequined hat, plus a gold jacket.
  • Question:-What would be an easy, not-too-inappropriate costume to wear to a showing of Rocky Horror Picture Show?
I'm planning on going to go see a showing of Rocky Horror Picture Show with my friends, and they're giving out a free gift-bag type thing if you show up in costume.
So, I was wondering if you guys could think of any easy to make/wear, yet still not too inappropriate costume I could wear.

Answer:-i'm completely jealous, first of all:)

do you need to show up in costume like the characters? because if you came as jan was dressed in the beginning of the movie, that could work. it would probably be different from everyone else, which could be good or bad, depending on how you look at it. a lavender blouse, white hat- anything prim and pretty really.
maybe you could go in a girl dr. frank n furter costume- black tank top, black skirt/shorts, fishnets, large pearl/white bead necklace, black heels, black elbow length gloves. black eyeshadow and liner would be essential, and maybe red lipstick instead of black.

just check out pictures from the movie and stage productions, and see what inspires you.

i'd also look at this website- it's made by die-hard fans who know what they're talking about
    http://www.rockyhorror.com/
    look in the participation section:)

good luck with your costume and have fun!
  • Question:-How do you host and throw a live show performance of The Rocky Horror Picture Show?
I am helping to coordinate and host a live showing of the Rocky Horror Picture Show. I love the movie and know every word, song and dance but have never attended a live show. Any tips and suggestions will be perfect! I know about props and when to use them. I also know to do virgin sacrifices but need ideas for that. Thank you!

  • Question:-What is the plot of The Rocky Horror Picture Show?
I have heard about The Rocky Horror Picture Show and had seen some of it. It reportedly is some goth abstract movie but I wonder what the overall plot is about. I have a general idea that it is about two people whom get stuck in an unusual house of horror but I am curious to know some more.

Answer:-Ok this does contain minor spoilers A pair of students car breaks down and they get trapped in the mansion of a transvestite alien (A 'sweet transvestite from transexual transylvania' to be exact) who is in the middle of a party to show case his latest creation, a custom made man.

Not sure I'd actually call it goth though it was adopted by them as when it was released there really wasn't much of a goth movement and it was based on a play of the same name.
  • Question:-How do you feel about Glee doing a Rocky Horror Picture Show episode?
The only Glee I have watched is part of the Madonna episode so I can't say if I really like the show or not. Now that they made a Rocky Horror Picture Show episode I am REALLY excited to see what they did with it and I hope they didn't ruin it. I have listened to some of the previews of the songs and they weren't that bad. What do you people think of it? Are you going to watch it?

Answer:-I'm going to watch it, but I'm not sure if I'll like it. Especially since a girl is being Frank N Furter and the songs seemed to have been very censored (if you can't say 'heavy petting' as it's too rude, Rocky Horror isn't going to work out for you).

But I heard Meat Loaf and Barry Bostwick are going to be in it, so I HAVE to watch it :) I'm gonna have to wait a while though, because God only knows when it's going to be shown in the UK. I didn't think we were that behind, but the new series has started in Amerca, and we haven't even had adverts for it here. I've told dad to watch it though.

  • Question:-What are some good last minute halloween costumes for a guy?
I am going to this school dance tomorrow night, and its a costume dance. I havent gotten a costume, and i cant think of one. Help?!

Answer:-If you're wanting to go cheap there are so really simple costumes. You can be a prisoner, pirate, doctor, or cowboy. There's some more but I totally blanked out.

Hit the thrift store for cheap clothes to bloody up or rip up for your costume. They also have cheap costumes there. You can also go to Target for costumes on sale.

One costume that is popular this year is the Sons of Anarchy costume. You said school dance so I don't know how old you are, but the SOA is a show about a group of bikers. They're called SAMCRO. So you can dress as a biker. There's a lot of cool stuff you can do w/that costume.

That's what I have for now. There's a few other ideas in the articles below. Happy Halloween!

christine

  • Question:-Who is your favorite Christine in The Phantom of the Opera?
In the Phantom of the Opera, who is your favorite actress to play Christine Daa'e? Mine is Sandra Joseph.

Answer:-really? i love emmy rossum...to me her voice is really strong but it's still high and clear enough to not be sultry. And she actually moves her mouth. o.O
  • Question:-What happened to Christine O'donnell, is she trying to keep her head low until the next Election?
I really hope she runs for something in 2012, because I could use a good laugh every now and then.

I get a lot of humor from Michele Bachmann and Sarah Palin, but Christine O'donnell saying she wasn't a Witch was priceless. Christine O'donnell has taking wackiness to a another level.

    Answer:-Good question.

She made such a fool of herself - that she is probably embarrassed to show her face anymore.

You have to give her some credit however.

Sarah Palin and Michele Bachmann are too stupid to even realize how idiotic they come across to others so that is why they keep us all entertained.

You are right though - I also get a lot of humor from all of them and I can't wait for Sarah to run. The endless comic relief from that would be priceless.
  • Question:-How long does Christine Daae dance for in the phantom of the opera?
I really want to play Christine one day and I'm a good singer, alright actress but not so good at dancing and I know she goes on pointe. Does anyone know how long she dances for?
    Thank you!

Answer:-3 hours (or until she collapses.)
  • Question:-who designed the floral sarong worn by christine baranski in the movie mamma mia?
In the movie Mamma Mia, Christine Baranski is in a red swimsuit with a floral sarong singing on the beach. I would like to know who designed the floral sarong and where I can buy one.

Answer:-If you watch it again, try looking in the credits at the end, usually they say where the clothes in the movie were designed. I think it's in Pink Woman, or it could be another program. Their clothes are so nice!
  • Question:-Can I play Christine on the Phantom of the Opera?
I have been in many many many shows and I sing beautifully. I have been training ALOT for about 2 years. I am a very good opera singer and I can sing Musical Theater. It has been my dream to play Christine in The Phantom of the Opera. I am trying out next month. Do you think I could get the role?

Answer:-Can you act? I have met many great opera singers who, to be quite honest, can't really act. You can get away with it in opera, but not in musical theatre. Also, you may sing beautifully, but can you hit a top E? Do you have sufficient vocal strength to sing 8 shows a week? I assume you're auditioning for a professional production, as amateur rights haven't been released, so eight shows a week is pretty standard. Two years is not an awful lot of training, you will be up against people who have been training extensively since childhood...yes, it's possible, but without knowing who you are up against it's impossible to know if you will get it or not.
  • Question:-How prestigious is the Christine Valmy beauty school?
Some one told me that the Christine Valmy Beauty School is the best for makeup and skin care education? Is that true?

  • Question:-How can we be sure that Christine O'Donnell is no longer a witch?
We know that Christine O'Donnell admitted to practicing witchcraft when she was a student at the university.

How can we be sure that she is no longer a witch? Maybe her claims of being Catholic is just a ruse.

Answer:-once a witch always a witch.i guess that like sometimes a vampire and sometimes you re not.this is getting crazier by the second.i cant believe the headlines read.O'Donnell is a witch.cheese and crackers.we're all going to hell in a hand basket and a cell phone....
  • Question:-Does anyone know where I can get accesories for a costume as Christine Daae from the Phantom of the Opera?
I would like anything such as gowns, earrings, necklackes, hair accesories, or anything that would go with this costume. This would really help on my search to be Christine Daae for Halloween. Any suggestions?

Answer:-You have a few choices depending on where you live.

Most mid-size and larger cities have some sort of costume rental business. Any business of this sort should easily be able to put together something you'll be happy with.

If you don't live near a rental house or if you prefer to own the costume when you're done, then I have a few shopping suggestions.

If you have some money to spend you might try starting with local antique malls. They will sometimes carry antique clothing, though that may not be useful. Sizes in very old clothing tend to be very different from our sizes today. Women were corseted, so the waist in many dresses seems very small and the bust rather pronounced. If you can find a dress with a big enough waist you can always pad the bust out to fit. Condition is another thing to pay attention to; many older garments are simply too frail to be worn at all. Antique malls will be a very good source for ornate costume jewelry and hair accessories. You might even be able to find some good shoes. (Look especially for shoes or low boots with a spool heel for a good Victorian feel.)

There are also vendors online that sell custom Victorian garments. These are very expensive, and having never used any of these vendors I can't personally reccommend any of them.

If you like to sew, there are many options for patterns. This is another good thing to search for online if you want to find something pretty authentic. Otherwise, you can go to your local Jo-Ann or Hancock and look at the costuming patterns. Most of the major brands (Butterick, Simplicity, etc.) carry an array of costume patterns that cover some of the more popular periods. These patterns are not difficult to use, even for a beginning stitcher.

Another cheap option for gowns is to look for something from your local thrift stores that can be modified. Many of the wedding and prom dresses from the 80's borrowed heavily from Victorian styles. If you can find something you like as a base it is pretty easy to add trims to an existing garment. If you really don't sew at all you can add your trims by very carefully using a glue called either Magna-tac or Fabri-tac.

Theatre House (I'm afraid I don't know their web address) is a cheap mail order business that supplies a variety of costume products including some garments, jewelry, hats, and wigs.
  • Question:-Why do we have two actresses playing Christine Daae in our school's production of Phantom?
All the other characters just have one actor portraying them. But when it comes to Christine Daae, they're looking for two people to play her. Is her role really that demanding?

Answer:-I think there could be lots of reasons. Her role is extremely demanding, so they might use both girls during the play. Or the play might be double-cast. Or she might just be an understudy, which means she'll jump into the main role if the primary Christine gets injured or sick.

    :)
  • Question:-What are your thoughts on the name Christine?
    1) What do you think of the name Christine for a girl.

    2) Please offer at least 5 middle name suggestions.

    Answer:-1. It's okay, but a bit plain.

    2.
    Christine Joelle
    Christine Bethany
    Christine Jade
    Christine Ruby
    Christine Francesca
