• Question:-Too short??
  My son is 20 months od and is slightly under 32" tall. My concern is that he will be much shorter than average when he grows up. He is ahead of the curve developmentally. My husband is 6'3" and i am 5'8". Is my son too short - should i worry??
  Also, and i know i probably shouldn't but it seems that everytime someone points out how short he is i feel miserable, liked i failed him - is that wrong? I get mad too, i don't think its very polite to point that out to a parent...ugh, maybe i think too much.
  
  Answer:-there are formulas to predict a child's height. give a google search for adult height formula and use one of the formulas. they're fairly accurate. I would bet that your kid will be plenty tall based on your heights.

  Answer:-let me just say: my sisters best friend when she was growing up was a guy and he was tiny! like 4'6 they were always together but during highschool they kind of drifted apart so i hadnt seen him in a while. Well i was at school last year some random guy starts talking to me and he seemed so familiar. I asked him if i knew him and he said its me ****** and i was like oh my goodness! he was 6'2!! he was one of the best players on our football team and got a football scholarship. trust me youll grow :)

  I'm going to my cousin's formal wedding next week and I'm having trouble deciding the length of the type of dress I want to wear. I'm 13 years old. Since it is in the winter, I'm planning to wear black tights underneath. The wedding will be indoors, so climate doesn't matter. However, knee length dresses make me look very weighed down and short. Would a dress that meets halfway of my thigh be too short? What do you think?
  I don't want to wear a dress that is either white or black. I'm thinking dark purple, red, or blue.
  
  Answer:-If your tights are opaque, you can get probably away with going a little shorter than you could with sheer or no tights. That said, halfway down your thighs doesn't sound too short. Just make sure you pick a length you feel comfortable sitting in so you don't have to worry about tugging at it all night!

  Answer:-For an office environment, your skirt should not be shorter than two inches above your knees.
  
  SInce you are going to start working there, wear more conservative and longer skirts. If you wear those mid-thigh skirts when you start, you will be sending the wrong messages.
  
  Once you start working there, look at the skirt length of other women in the office. If they are wearing skirts that are mid-thigh length, then wait until you are well established, and if its ok, wear those mid-thigh skirts you have, but wear pantyhose or tights to make your outfit more office appropriate.

  Answer:-That's not the question... The question should be how short should your shorts be depending on your size? I think if you're really skinny then they can be worn as short as you want because you dont have to worry about showing anything. But if you a big big gurl than the answer is: You shouldnt be wearing short shorts period. hahahahaha But to be honest with you, as long as you're leaving something to the imagination then you're good.   A control wax will keep the hair looking well groomed at crew cut and ivy league length. A butch comb also helps- the small, flat, plastic, oval, pocket brushes that one finger fits through and barbers sell for about a dollar. A boar's bristle military brush is available for a few dollars and is nice to have at home.
  Grooming any of the short pomp(pompadour) styles- crew cut, ivy league, flat top crew cut- is basically the same and takes about a minute or two.

  2) Barely dip fingertips in jar of wax.
  3)Transfer wax to palms.
  4) Smooth palms over hair.
  5)Brush hair off forehead to form short pomp front.

  There is a bit of skepticism about Groupon's IPO this Friday. Even if not one to hold, is this a good buy for a few months, or weeks, or just days? Or just stay away?
  
  Answer:-I'd stay away. The only positive is that they are selling a modest number of shares. I see several major negatives.
  
  The founders just granted themselves superior voting rights, entrenching management.
  
  They created the industry, but have no long term competitive advantage.
  
  There are new competitors everywhere, including some powerful companies. For the last month, I've been getting daily deal emails from Amazon. Yet no one seems to mention this.
• Question:-Any thought on Pandora Media and Groupon IPO's?
  Is it worth it to buy into these or let them pass?
  I was planning on buying and selling on the same day, in which case I would need at least a $10 profit to cover brokerage commissions. Any recommendations on a buy and sell price?
  
  Answer:-Even though you want to buy these IPO's, it's likely that you'd never get the shares.
  
  The initial offerings of shares of these companies typically go to big-money / big-fish customers of the particular brokerage house that is hosting the IPO. They make a list of everybody that wants 'in' on the IPO and then dole out 100 lot shares to customers on a list, then they go to the top of the list again, repeat. If you did manage to get some, you'd likely get only 100 shares.
  
  I know because I tried to get shares of a couple of smaller IPO's recently (Zipcar and Arcos Dorados) and the rep at my brokerage firm just sorta chuckled. He said I only had 50k in my account and that I had to be realistic. When I pushed him for explanation he told me what I just told you, that the shares would be going to customers who generate THOUSANDS of dollars for their firm in commissions. So - you can see what I'm saying hey? Not trying to discourage you, just share my experience.
  
  Groupon is going to be a monster though. Up HUGE first day, then down, just like Linkedin.

  There are two ways to invest in an IPO.
  A. Get an allocation from your broker.
  B. Buy on the open market.
  
  Chances are... you won't get a piece of the allocation..... but know this.... it doesn't mean you'll make instant money..... you could easily lose 25% the first day (or more).
  
  If you buy on the open market the stock could rocket 50% before you can buy it... and then drop by 75%.... anything can happen.... this is not an absolute ticket to "winnings".
  
  If you've never bought stock before or you have less than 5 years of successful investing experience... simply stay away from this stuff.
