  Drew Brees will be my main starter on my fantasy football team, but I do have Matthew Stafford as well which gives me some things to play around with. Drew Brees and the saints play the GB Packers week 1, which may lower Drew Brees numbers. Matt Stafford and the Lions play Tampa Bay, so I think Matt Stafford will light up that defense. What do you think? Should I start Stafford in week 1?
  
  Answer:-I'm from Detroit, but I'm not a fanatic Lions fan. I would start Stafford, he is looking great this preseason and he really killed it when he did play last season. I expect Stafford to put up over 350 yard and 2-3 TD's against TB. I don't think Brees will do that against GB. The Saints have a reworked line and they are more dedicated to the run this season. Also, Colston is still recovering from knee injury and Lance Moore (#3 WR) is suffering from a groin injury. GB is not going to let Brees throw to the TE all day like he did during the preseason. I'd go Stafford all the way!

But in general, I would choose Sizemore over Braun. If you look at their 2008 statics, their numbers are almost identical when it comes to hits (170/174) and Ks (129/130). What Sizemore has over Braun is hard to come by. Power hitter with great speed. Sizemore is more of well rounded athlete and he had a bad season privously. In my opinion, Sizemore second most well rounded player right beneath Hanley Ramirez.

  In a total points fantasy league, would you trade Lincecum straight up for Hanley Ramirez or Ryan Braun? It's a keeper league as well.

I love Braun, I would draft him higher in a draft... but Lincecum is a stud, and in points leagues SP are more valuable than OF because it's easier to find a OF who can give you points.   However... if your SS is weak (say, you're starting Aybar, Scutero, etc), then yes, I would move Lincecum for Ramirez. SS is a much harder position to find points scorers at than OF, and Hanley is hands-down the best option at SS. You could make a major upgrade in points by making the deal.

  Seems like alot of "anaylist" are raving about Matt Schaub's Potential to be a starter, and many are predicting that he will be traded in the off-season, due to his restricted free agent contract expiring. I've seen Schaub perform on the field, and I must say I'm impressed, but only to a certain extent. Which team do you think he will be traded to?
  
  Maybe the Oakland Raiders? I don't think Mr. Davis will draft a QB, but he might take a chance on trading for Matt Schaub....but then again....maybe not...
  
  Perhaps the Cleevland Browns?....They might take a chance on drafting hometown favorite Troy Smith, but the last thing the Browns need is another inexperiecned QB. so trading for Matt Schaub might make sense.

  Answer:-I'd say Oakland is out of the picture. I'd say Oakland is hands-down the team that most needs a high-potential prospect at quarterback, especially one that's spent a couple years in the NFL (albeit mainly on the bench). I'd even go so far as to say it would be an excellent fit for both sides, given that Schaub would likely start immediately and the Raiders would finally have a passing threat. With all that said, the Raiders won't do it, because they're... well, the Raiders. Al Davis seems to love taking a chance on guys who are just slightly past their prime or have had questionable performances in other venues. Schaub probably isn't even a blip on their radar. Damon Huard will end up a Raider before Schaub will.
  
  I'm a Falcons fan and I like Schaub. I think he's a great prospect who could have bigtime QB potential. I don't want to see him in another jersey next year, because let's face it - say he's as good as some of the analysts think - the Falcons are already hearing it about taking Vick ahead of LT. What if Schaub is the next Favre, or Brady? I mean, we already let the last Favre go!
  
  I think the teams looking to actually sign Schaub could be the Raiders (but it won't happen), the Lions and maybe even Jacksonville. I think the Panthers will be interested as well, but Schaub would likely be relegated to a backup role there for a couple of years, and I think he's looking for a starting gig.
  
  Odds are, he's in a Lions uniform to start the season. Will be great to see what he'll be like in that offense - I think with the right QB, that team will be tough to defend.

  Answer:-Don't over think this. Stick with Orton until either A. Shaub shows he is the QB we've known him to be when healthy, right now he's flat or B. Orton proves us wrong. He will produce regardless of the matchup.

  Im watching the Ravens game now and the Jets arent having any type of passing game at all. Although Palmer does have Owens and Ochocinco, you do have to remember that the patriots arent a very good passing defence so he wont have nearly as many points this week.

  Cutler is a quality QB but has no proven targets other than Forte. Schaub gets the nod until Cutler proves himself with the Bears.

  i'm starting to see how fantasy football can be a challenging strategic game!
  
  Answer:-Schaub has thrown for less that 200 yards in 3 out of 5 games this year, and now he's facing a KC defense that shut down Peyton Manning (I lost cause he got me less than 10 pts in my league, which is not going to cut it), and is only allowing 14 ppg. He is also without his starting LT, Duane Brown (4 week suspension, 2 more weeks to go), and he has struggled without him.
  
  McNabb, meanwhile, has thrown for almost 1400 yards in 5 games (about 280 ypg). He is facing a Colts D that is poor vs the run, but will be keying on it, so I think he will be able to hit on some deep throws, and hopefully some TDs, which have been lacking (only 4 through 5 games).
  
  Also, the Colts are missing two safeties: projected starter Bob Sanders, and his replacement, the up-and-coming Melvin Bullitt (btw watch the Colts cut Sanders in the off-season, they are really frustrated with his susceptibility to injuries). Thus, they will be starting the 4th string safety (they probably signed a free-agent or something as a backup). So start McNabb over Schaub with confidence.
  
  EDIT-Bethea is actually expected to play--but start McNabb anyways. Schaub, i my mind, has to prove himself again.

His turf toe injury won't go away, it needs complete rest for a long period of time so an off-season won't fully heal it. Expect him to play 5-8 games this season before being sidelined. In them 5-8 weeks the raiders offense don't have the penetration to get him many yards either.

  Answer:-I think Foster is a lock until he gets shut down consistently. You don't get 200+ and 3tds if you suck. I like Gore. Even though the O for Minnesota was shaky, Peterson still got 100+ total yards against New Orleans. Gore will get his touches and yards. I think he has more upside.

  Frank Gore from the 49ers went to the Pro Bowl 2 years ago in his sophomore season, and lead the NFC in rushing yards that year. Marion Barber went to the Pro Bowl last year, and is the primary starter for the Cowboys this year.
  
  Answer:-Frank Gore. He's stronger, gives a slight bit of speed up but has a knack for finding holes, and he can also play the role of a WR much better than Barber.
  
  Did you see just how "good" Barber was against a very tough defense in the New York Giants that likes to send heat? He did just awful. He wouldn't have put up 1700 yards playing for San Francisco two years ago with the 49ers line.

  Answer:-I am a Chicago fan and I did some research on this Forte guy and I watched some highlights on him he seems like a decent back & looks like he's going to do for us what Cedric Benson couldn't....He displays nice power and tackle breaking ability, which combined with his size and running skills allows him to run inside and outside. He has a big frame and good strength. He can be a downhill runner when he plays with proper pad level and uses his big frame as a battering ram. He has shown good receiving and blocking skills. He does lack elite speed but not all great backs had elite speed. He's a 4.4, 4.5 forty kind of guy

  Answer:-I really like Forte, possibly more than AP. I'd be pretty temped, especially if you're light on your WR. I think you'll see some good consistency with Forte. AP has a new center, and a rookie tackle in front of him now, though I think Farve may open up the throwing threat more to allow Peterson room. I think it really depends on if you're light on WR, it wouldn't take much to push me over!

  Answer:-Forte. Yahoo projections are typically useless. Hillis will most likely splits carries with Harrison; where as Forte should get 70% of the work over taylor, and be a bigger factor in the passing game. Even the Bears get down he should still get plenty of check-downs and garbage yards.

  Answer:-Keep Matt Forte, he is stronger as he is often looked to for receptions. His production on the ground will be up and down through the season but when it's up he will get you a lot of points and the addition of receiving yards will make it that much better. Cincinnati is, as you said, too pass oriented to give their running back too much of an opportunity to make solid fantasy numbers. Also, the Cincinnati defense will stick their offense in a hole often this season which will make Palmer air it out which will severely cut the production of Benson.

hines ward

  Answer:-for his team, or fantasy wise?
  
  hines ward is definitely more valuable to the steelers, as he is the best blocking WR in the game. But fantasy wise, Muhammad, definitely. Ive always said that Roethlisberger can't put his team on his back and carry them to victory, and its really showing this year. Ward does not benefit from that. Rex Grossman has emerged as a great quarterback, finally free from his numerous injuries over the past 2 years. Muhammad was a stud in Carolina, and even with his age getting up there, he's still in a much better situation that Ward, making Muhsin Muhammad the better wideout.

  I think Hines Ward is the most underrated, under appreciated WR in the league. Even if he doesnt touch the ball, he is doing something somewhere that is vital to every play that he's on the feild. Any other candidates?

  I would have to say Hines Ward for several reasons
  1. He has been on the Steelers longer than Big Ben by 6 seasons. For a stretch of 7-8 years he has at least been a top 15 wideout.
  2. Just like Roethlisberger he has 2 Super Bowl Rings but none of them have any season or Super Bowl MVPs
  
  I think if Manning or Brady was in Roethsliberger place they would be the face of the franchise because they won MVPs in regular season and Super Bowl. Roethlisberger has not.

  Answer:-I don't think its a hard decision, you start Ward. Especially with Parker possibly being out, they are going to throw the ball.

  Answer:-Baltimore doesn't allow a whole lot of points against. I pretty much fear starting anyone vs them just because they have the capability to stop just about anyone. I think Bess will have the bigger game vs Cleveland with a poor secondary. Plus the browns do have a good run D which makes it easier to pass on them. And Henne has been playing well.

  Brandon Lloyd isnt going up to a top notch defense but hes not a primary reciever. Hines Ward is a primary reciever but is going up agianst a great defense Baltimore. i dont know which one to start!
  
  Answer:-I would start Hines Ward just because he is a primary reciever. Lloyd has a chance of going through the game without a reception. Ward will get more looks for sure, but it is a questionable matchup. I expect both matchups to be focused on the run anyways.

  Answer:-I'm from Detroit, but I'm not a fanatic Lions fan. I would start Stafford, he is looking great this preseason and he really killed it when he did play last season. I expect Stafford to put up over 350 yard and 2-3 TD's against TB. I don't think Brees will do that against GB. The Saints have a reworked line and they are more dedicated to the run this season. Also, Colston is still recovering from knee injury and Lance Moore (#3 WR) is suffering from a groin injury. GB is not going to let Brees throw to the TE all day like he did during the preseason. I'd go Stafford all the way!

Further, the secondary has a lot of injuries and the Cowboys are likely to be attacking through the air. The Giants have allowed 465 rushing yds, 110 receiving yds and 4 TDs to opposing RBs. Best is currently among the top 8 fantasy RBs (standard Yahoo scoring; pts/game). Jones is #43. While the Cowboys should be working Jones more going forward, this is not the game to start him in.

  Im a Bengals fan, the Bengals are shocking people with 3-1 start to the season, Carson Palmer for the last two years has benn injured and not himself, now this year it apperars to many that hes regained his 2005-2006 form, before he blew his knee out against the Steeelers in the Playoffs. How would you rate him so far, and do you think hell improve as the season progresses.
  
  Answer:-I played him over Tom Brady,and he scored 1 more point then him,I think..
  Yhea,I really like Palmer this year (AND OCHOCINCO),and I wont hesitate to play him if I like his matchup better then Brady's..I WISH I COULD START THEM BOTH,but my league only starts 1 QB..
  
  It wasn't long ago PAlmer was being drafted in 1st rounds of fantasy drafts,and he STILL has the potential to produce like a top tier QB;
  so if you grabbed him after the 7th-8th rounds like I did,you got yourself a real bargain!

  Carson Palmer has put up great numbers on the Bengals, but they are one of the worst teams in the league. If Palmer was on a different team, he would be looked at as a future Hall of Famer, and he would have a better chance of winning a Super Bowl.
  
  Answer:-I think he would be a great fit on the Vikings. If the Vikings O-line improves on the pass blocking, I can see Palmer in the pro-bowl next season. (If he was to go to the Vikings). They have arguably the best running back in the NFL in Adrian Peterson, a good receiving core with the likes of Sidney Rice (as long as they re-sign him) and Percy Harvin, and a very underrated TE in Shianco (or how ever you spell his name).

  which one should i start as my quarterback? Carson Palmer is playing Tenn. and Matt Cassel is playing the NYJ.
  
  Answer:-Seems like a tough call after this past week, but, the answer is clearly Palmer. Look for the Bengals to bounce back this next week. Cassel hasn't started a game since high school, and the Chiefs aren't exactly a great measuring stick. I'd wait a couple weeks before even thinking about starting Cassel over Palmer regardless of the matchup.
  
  The other thing to consider is Palmer/Ocho Cinco/Housh have been among the top producers for the past several fantasy seasons, and they know how to score. Perry has to do more in the running game for sure, but this is a team that will come out looking much better next week. If you're concerned after one bad week, I'd be the guy in your league trying to trade for Palmer and tossing you a couple marginal picks in return. As long as the offensive line performs better, Palmer should have a good week.
