• Question:-Matt Schaub?
  Seems like alot of "anaylist" are raving about Matt Schaub's Potential to be a starter, and many are predicting that he will be traded in the off-season, due to his restricted free agent contract expiring. I've seen Schaub perform on the field, and I must say I'm impressed, but only to a certain extent. Which team do you think he will be traded to?
  
  Maybe the Oakland Raiders? I don't think Mr. Davis will draft a QB, but he might take a chance on trading for Matt Schaub....but then again....maybe not...
  
  Perhaps the Cleevland Browns?....They might take a chance on drafting hometown favorite Troy Smith, but the last thing the Browns need is another inexperiecned QB. so trading for Matt Schaub might make sense.

  Answer:-I'd say Oakland is out of the picture. I'd say Oakland is hands-down the team that most needs a high-potential prospect at quarterback, especially one that's spent a couple years in the NFL (albeit mainly on the bench). I'd even go so far as to say it would be an excellent fit for both sides, given that Schaub would likely start immediately and the Raiders would finally have a passing threat. With all that said, the Raiders won't do it, because they're... well, the Raiders. Al Davis seems to love taking a chance on guys who are just slightly past their prime or have had questionable performances in other venues. Schaub probably isn't even a blip on their radar. Damon Huard will end up a Raider before Schaub will.
  
  I'm a Falcons fan and I like Schaub. I think he's a great prospect who could have bigtime QB potential. I don't want to see him in another jersey next year, because let's face it - say he's as good as some of the analysts think - the Falcons are already hearing it about taking Vick ahead of LT. What if Schaub is the next Favre, or Brady? I mean, we already let the last Favre go!
  
  I think the teams looking to actually sign Schaub could be the Raiders (but it won't happen), the Lions and maybe even Jacksonville. I think the Panthers will be interested as well, but Schaub would likely be relegated to a backup role there for a couple of years, and I think he's looking for a starting gig.
  
  Odds are, he's in a Lions uniform to start the season. Will be great to see what he'll be like in that offense - I think with the right QB, that team will be tough to defend.

  Denver is playing a great defensive team this week NYG, but so is Matt Schaub. KC defended pretty good againt the Colts last week. Klye Orton did put up some point even against the Ravens last week.
  
  Answer:-Don't over think this. Stick with Orton until either A. Shaub shows he is the QB we've known him to be when healthy, right now he's flat or B. Orton proves us wrong. He will produce regardless of the matchup.

  Answer:-Id go with Schuab, Foster was used in week 1 to keep manning off the field, thats the only reason they used him so much. Now in Week 2 he'll set up great play action now that foster is a big threat.
  
  Im watching the Ravens game now and the Jets arent having any type of passing game at all. Although Palmer does have Owens and Ochocinco, you do have to remember that the patriots arent a very good passing defence so he wont have nearly as many points this week.

  Answer:-Schaub averaged 320 YPG passing the last 4 games of '08 and has one of the best receivers and receiving tight ends in the game at his disposal.
  Cutler is a quality QB but has no proven targets other than Forte. Schaub gets the nod until Cutler proves himself with the Bears.

  Answer:-Normally I would start Peyton every week unless he has a bye, but considering Peyton will not have his number 2 WR this week, I think Schaub will have a better game against the Jag's defense. Andre Johnson has developed into one of the best WR in the league.

  Answer:-Pittsburgh has consistently been exploited by passing teams for the last couple years, the only times they successfully stop it is when they get good pressure which hasn't been as good as it has been in years past most likely due to James Harrison coming off back surgery. I'd start Schaub as Henne isn't that good

  i'm starting to see how fantasy football can be a challenging strategic game!
  
  Answer:-Schaub has thrown for less that 200 yards in 3 out of 5 games this year, and now he's facing a KC defense that shut down Peyton Manning (I lost cause he got me less than 10 pts in my league, which is not going to cut it), and is only allowing 14 ppg. He is also without his starting LT, Duane Brown (4 week suspension, 2 more weeks to go), and he has struggled without him.
  
  McNabb, meanwhile, has thrown for almost 1400 yards in 5 games (about 280 ypg). He is facing a Colts D that is poor vs the run, but will be keying on it, so I think he will be able to hit on some deep throws, and hopefully some TDs, which have been lacking (only 4 through 5 games).
  
  Also, the Colts are missing two safeties: projected starter Bob Sanders, and his replacement, the up-and-coming Melvin Bullitt (btw watch the Colts cut Sanders in the off-season, they are really frustrated with his susceptibility to injuries). Thus, they will be starting the 4th string safety (they probably signed a free-agent or something as a backup). So start McNabb over Schaub with confidence.
  
  EDIT-Bethea is actually expected to play--but start McNabb anyways. Schaub, i my mind, has to prove himself again.

  Answer:-Im a Raiders fan and I really hope they dont sign him.. Straight out of college and they all want multi million dollar contracts with 10,20,30 mil up front guarenteed. Now with the new policy set down by the commish more teams will want anti Vick/Pacman clauses in the contracts and that will have more players holding out. They should go to a NBA style pay system for rookies...you get a league minimum for 3 years..scaling up each year then after your 3rd year you negotiate a contract depending on how you perform. Pay the players for how well they do agianst the best out there...not agianst other players that have no shot to play in the NFL.

However I think this draft class has depth at wr and ol positions and oakland may be good 2 or 3 years down the line. Also Jamarcus Russell is the strongest qb right now and has the biggest speed and can run a 4.7 40-yard.

  Carson Palmer has put up great numbers on the Bengals, but they are one of the worst teams in the league. If Palmer was on a different team, he would be looked at as a future Hall of Famer, and he would have a better chance of winning a Super Bowl.
  
  Answer:-I think he would be a great fit on the Vikings. If the Vikings O-line improves on the pass blocking, I can see Palmer in the pro-bowl next season. (If he was to go to the Vikings). They have arguably the best running back in the NFL in Adrian Peterson, a good receiving core with the likes of Sidney Rice (as long as they re-sign him) and Percy Harvin, and a very underrated TE in Shianco (or how ever you spell his name).

  Answer:-No he is not, Leaf had worse stats, less wins, went to jail, insulted the media and did more damage to his team than Russell did. However some people get fooled by two facts which make them believe Russell is a bigger bust: (1) his bigger contract, and (2) being drafted #1 while Leaf was #2.
  
  Let's analyze them.
  
  (1) Contract.
  While it's true that Russell got $20 more million than Leaf, they Raiders didn't do or give anything extra to get him. On the other hand the Chargers gave two first round draft picks, a second round pick, Pro Bowler Eric Metcalf and another player that I don't remember just to move up in the draft and grab Leaf. In other words, the Raiders threw away $30 millions but the team didn't improve or worsen; the Chargers threw away their future and Leaf disgraced the franchise.
  
  Conclusion: The Chargers paid a higher price for Leaf than the Raiders for Russell.
  
  
  (2) Russell was drafted higher.
  In this case some people don't understand that talent levels differ year by year. We had QB classes like 1983 which produced three Hall of Famers and several quality signal callers, and 1990 whose best products were Jeff George, considered a bust, and Neil O'Donnell, the only Pro Bowler. It's not hard to see that 1998 QB class (Peyton Manning, Matt Hasselbeck and a serviceable Brian Griese) was miles better than 2007, probably the weakest class of the decade whose best QB is Kevin Kolb. Russell was a prospect similar to Daunte Culpepper, Byron Leftwich and Josh Freeman, none of them were the first QB taken, and was never considered a top 15 player. The Raiders desperate need for a QB made them choose Russell despite there was amazing talent at other positions (Calvin Johnson, Darrelle Revis, Joe Thomas, Patrick Willis, Adrian Peterson to name a few). Russell was expected to become a Daunte Culpepper type of QB, Leaf was expected to compete with Peyton Manning for awards and championships.
  
  Conclusion: Expectations on Ryan Leaf were higher.

  Answer:-Russell is a bigger bust. He was taken 1st overall as apposed to Leaf. Russell is also relatively quite. Leaf was a big mouth idiot and a poor player. However, I still think Russell is worse. I might have a bias opinion though...just to pass the torch to another team.

Simply was not a very likable person and his performance on the field was to say the least SAD! that combined with being the Number 1 Draft Pick and getting a huge contract... one of the reasons this contract negotiation right now is going on... to many No1 picks going bust and costing owners out the butt for someone that never plays or can't play. aka Ryan Leaf and who was that LB from Oklahoma with the hair cut... cant remember his name but he took his big contract and turned it into a crap acting career.

  Carson Palmer is clearly a better QB, but the Bengals are playing the Ravens this week and the Cowboys are playing the Giants. I just don't know who would score more fantasy points.
  
  Answer:-PALMER. The ravens D took a big hit when thomas moved on. It will be easier for teams to block ray lewis now and the ravens secondary is getting old. Look for Johnson and Palmer to have a Big game.

  I feel as if Carson Palmer will get shut down in Baltimore by Ed Reed and company. Whereas, Kyle Orton has two unbelievably strong Wide outs this year and appears to be doing well.
  
  Answer:-I would go with Kyle Orton. I feel he has a much better matchup and will be decent enough this week against the Patriots defense.

  Answer:-Id go with Schuab, Foster was used in week 1 to keep manning off the field, thats the only reason they used him so much. Now in Week 2 he'll set up great play action now that foster is a big threat.
  
  Im watching the Ravens game now and the Jets arent having any type of passing game at all. Although Palmer does have Owens and Ochocinco, you do have to remember that the patriots arent a very good passing defence so he wont have nearly as many points this week.

  Answer:-Yes, start Cassel over Palmer. Palmer will continue to struggle this week. I think you mean Titans Defense. The Texans have a bye this week.

  Im a Bengals fan, the Bengals are shocking people with 3-1 start to the season, Carson Palmer for the last two years has benn injured and not himself, now this year it apperars to many that hes regained his 2005-2006 form, before he blew his knee out against the Steeelers in the Playoffs. How would you rate him so far, and do you think hell improve as the season progresses.

  Yhea,I really like Palmer this year (AND OCHOCINCO),and I wont hesitate to play him if I like his matchup better then Brady's..I WISH I COULD START THEM BOTH,but my league only starts 1 QB..
  
  It wasn't long ago PAlmer was being drafted in 1st rounds of fantasy drafts,and he STILL has the potential to produce like a top tier QB;
  so if you grabbed him after the 7th-8th rounds like I did,you got yourself a real bargain!

  Carson Palmer has put up great numbers on the Bengals, but they are one of the worst teams in the league. If Palmer was on a different team, he would be looked at as a future Hall of Famer, and he would have a better chance of winning a Super Bowl.
  
  Answer:-I think he would be a great fit on the Vikings. If the Vikings O-line improves on the pass blocking, I can see Palmer in the pro-bowl next season. (If he was to go to the Vikings). They have arguably the best running back in the NFL in Adrian Peterson, a good receiving core with the likes of Sidney Rice (as long as they re-sign him) and Percy Harvin, and a very underrated TE in Shianco (or how ever you spell his name).
