Ok, so I just graduated from high school and I'm on my way to college in the fall. I really want to go to Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA. I just found out that if my family doesn't have enough money to send me, I either have to apply for loans or I have to go to the college in my hometown which I really don't want to do.

college football scores
- Question:-Where can I find old college football scores and stats from the 1980's and 1990's?
I need to find some college scores for schools that I do not see scores for anymore like Campbellsville State from NCAA D2 and for Evergreen State from Washington state.
Answer:-Youtube - Question:-what is the best web site for real time college football scores?
Answer:-ESPN, Yahoo sprots page or CBS Sportsline are all very adequate. - Question:-college football scores text to my phone how to?
is there a site that will text the top 25 college foot ball teem scores to my phone for free
Answer:-check ESPN - Question:-College Football Scores?
Where can i watch College Football Scores online.
Is http://www.DigitalTVforPC.org really good for live games as they say?
Answer:-espn.com would work - Question:-is there a phone number I can call and get up to date college football scores?
Answer:-Try 1-888-75-SCORES (72673) - Question:-Impossible college football scores.?
Ok all you college football fans. I have a football puzzler for you. Using NCAA football rules what are the only scores that are completely impossible to have? By this I mean team A has X points and team B has Y points. I want you to list the actual scores that are impossible. My guess, and I am not completely sure, is that there are only 6 combos that are impossible. I will list my 6 after I hear some answers. Have fun.
Thanks for the responses. So far, the only responder to come close is "Billy", but there is a technicality error to his answer. He is absolutely correct that it is possible to score 1 point through a "one point safety" by the defense off a conversion. However, it is also possible for a final score to be 1-0. This would make a totoal of only 6 impossible scores. Can anybody figure it out? Good luck.
Well done "Better than Most". However, I was including the 1-0 technical forfeiture score as a possible "official" score and that is why I came up with 6. However As far as the 0-0 score, I too am not 100% sure of the rules in terms of game termination but presumed that play would continue until someone in fact scored.
This is an interesting topic for another puzzler. Peace and thanks for playing. Hope you enjoyed..Scott
Answer:-Good question.
I don't think that 0 - 0 is possible. I'm not positive but I'm not reading the overtime rules to figure it out. Presumably they would play until one team or the other scored and then held the opposing team. Maybe they would call it a draw after 10 overtimes. Who cares?
By my count the impossible scores are:
I think 1 - 1 is impossible because a team must score at least a touchdown to earn a 1 pt safety.
I think 1 - 2 is impossible because a team must score at least a touchdown to earn a 1 pt safety.
I think 1 - 3 is impossible for the same reason as previously stated.
Same is true of 1 - 4 and 1 - 5.
A score of 1-6 is possible if the defense scores a one point safety after the first touchdown of the game. I believe that this is the lowest possible score when one team has but a single point.
I think 1 - 7 is the last impossible score. I can't figure a way for Team A to have exactly 7 points if Team B already has 1.
So I came up with 7.
That's right. You won't catch me on the old forfeit rule which allows for a final score of 1 - 0. - Question:-Need online college football scores from September 30th, 1950?
Sports nuts - I need a site that has results of all college football games played on September 30th, 1950. What makes this more difficult - I need scores from smaller schools - especially a game played between Norwich (Vermont) and Coast Guard on September 30th, 1950. The score was 41 - 0, but I have conflicting info on who won and where the game was played. Have not been able to confirm anything online so far. Any football researchers out there who know the definitive answer? (Coast Guard or Norwich alumni might also know...)
Answer:-Coast Guard beat Norwich 41-0 in New London, CT.
Go to cfbdatawarehouse.com.
They have the scores for every game every team has ever played going back pre 1900. It has the location the game was played, the score, etc. AMAZING INFORMATION. - Question:-How do I get College Football and NFL scores on my cell phone?
Answer:-go to your web browser and look up www.m.espn.com
It will give you the option to go to the scoreboard.
- Question:-Where are the college football scores?
Answer:-They're here: http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/scoreboard - Question:-Who is going to win next weak in college football? name the scores of your games you want to watch and rank‼?
I really want to watch BYU at Utah
Ranks Champion series
BYU:14
Utah:7
BYU lost to TCU and Utah is undeafeted
They are rivals that are in state. And I think whoever wins might have a chance at a BCS game
Scores
BYU: 38
Utah: 36
Answer:-I agree with you, the Holy War should be very interesting this week. It's going to be a thriller! This game is going to come down to who has a better 2 min. drill and who has the ball last. Who is that team? BYU!
BYU 34
Utah 31
Texas Tech and Oklahoma should be very interesting too. I think here, particularly in Norman, Oklahoma is going to throw a monkey wrench into Texas Tech and into the BCS standings.
TxT 42
OU 49
Boise State at Nevada has the potential of being interesting too... However, Boise State will be too much for the Wolfpack.
BSU 42
UN 21
Cheers!

Answer:-I am a UC Davis freshman. Here are some things to check out:

Tercero sometimes smells like cows but is closer to the science buildings.
Segundo has a huge dining commons and is closest to the GYM
2) Definitely check out the ARC(Activities and Recreation Center) and the Memorial Union.
3) Assuming she knows you well, ask her which dorm area would fit your personality.
4) Drive around Downtown Davis, ask her the prices for the AmTrak (if you're gonna be taking it home)
There isn't really much to see for the first time. Check out the dorms and the dining commons, you'll be living there for 9 months next year. - Question:-UC davis???????

What was the date that UC Davis let all applicants know their admission status last year?
AND...Does anyone have an idea when they will let us know for 2011?
Answer:-I don't know about west coast but I know in the Midwest most schools will have posted notifications by mail by now. Northwestern University down in Illinois gives out acceptance notifications April 1st but this is the latest date out there for schools in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Illinois. I'm sure they will come soon
I'm confident you will get in Sea - Question:-What is the fastest way to commute From UC Davis to San Francisco and vice-visa without a car?

Answer:-well you could take amtrak to sacramento the yolo bus to UC Davis

And, are there limits for the size of the luggage you can carry on these buses or trains?
Answer:-You can take the UCD-Berkeley Shuttle from UC Davis to Cal, then hop on BART to the city. The only bad thing about the shuttle is that you have to buy your tickets two weeks in advance and have to be a Cal or UCD affliate to ride. Once in Berkeley, BART will get you to SF in 20 mins tops.
Amtrak would be your best bet. - Question:-What do i need to be major in in UC Davis in order to go to be Dermatologist?
What do i need to be major in in UC Davis in order to go to be Dermatologist?
and also, im planning on gonig to community college and transfer after 2 years... and finish remaining 2 years at Davis... how will that work and what are the classes i should be taking?
Answer:-You can major in any field as long as you take the prerequisites required for medical school. The commonly accepted coursework requirements for medical school include a minimum of 1 year of:
General biology
Physics with lab
General chemistry (inorganic chemistry) with lab
Organic chemistry with lab
Calculus
English
You should major in a field which leads to alternative career paths as most applicants do not make it into medical school.
You should not take these prerequisites at CC. Take them when you transfer to a 4 year college. - Question:-How to tell UC Davis about the D I received in calculus last semester?
I have been admitted to UC Davis. I have received a D in AP calculus, which is my fourth year of math, last semester. So what is the best way to tell UC Davis about the D so that I would not get revoked? Should I call or email them? And what is the best method to remedy my D, if they ask? Thanks
Answer:-Unless there is a specific cirumstance/explanation of why you didn't do so well in calc (for instance, a family problem, medical reason, etc.) I wouldn't call too much attention to the grade. At the same time if there is a spot for additional comments in the academics/grades section of the application I would briefly mention the grade. DON'T make excuses ("the teacher was really mean", "I had a lot of other work") because everyone has those situations but do acknowledge that your grade was less than you would have liked and explain that you hope they can see from the other courses that you have taken that you pushed yourself to take challenging classes in high school, even when you didn't necessarily get the highest grade. Good luck! - Question:-Requirements for UC Davis for incoming freshman in the fall of 2008?
I am currently a senior in high school and I really want to apply into UC Davis. A lot of people say that you need to have at least a 4.0 in order to get in. I only have a 3.6 GPA and even though I did not do too well on my SATS, I am very active in school activities. I also took 2 years of foreign language, but they are at Sacramento City College. But I have 5 years of math already. Is it still possible for me to get in? My counselor said that my chance is very low, so I don't want to risk it knowing that I won't get into Davis.
Answer:-You can see the profiles of admitted students to Davis for Fall 2007 (detailed breakdown of GPA, SAT, ACT, SAT II, and other statistics) at: http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/educators/counselors/resources/materials/ITU.pdf on page 38.
Davis is not incredibly competitive, so I'm not sure why your counselor is being discouraging. I think you should apply and find out for yourself.

pepper spray
- Question:-pepper spray?
where would be the best place to buy pepper spray? I know this is a stupid question, but i have looked in a dozen stores today and i can't find it, and no one i talk to can tell me who would sell it! is there a specific kind of store that sells it? I was thinking maybe a sporting goods store might. I really need it for work (i am sick of carrying around a baseball bat) !
Answer:-You could try a gun shop. - Question:-Pepper Spray?
Where can I buy Pepper Spray In Orange County, Ca?
Answer:-this website sells it http://www.aaa-safetyfirst.com
there's good selection there - Question:-Pepper spray?
What can you as a martial artists do if sprayed with pepper spray in your eyes?
Answer:-As law enforcement, I can tell you from experience that you CAN see through pepperspray. It hurts like the dickens, but not nearly as bad as getting your butt kicked will hurt. your eyes will naturally start to water, which helps rinse the spray out. If you do not get your eyes open, you will not be able to see which direction the danger is comming from. Grappling works, IF you can get ahold of the other person before you get pounded. I choose to suffer through the burning of the spray. - Question:-PEPPER SPRAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?
Is it legal or illegal for a 14 year old to have pepper spray with them when they go to the mall or other places like that? The reason I ask this, is because I wanted to get it for my cousin because I'd feel more safer if she would have some protection with her.
we live in southern california. We'll be moving to northern california soon.
Answer:-It is absolutely legal to carry pepper spray and use it to protect your personal safety without having any special state or federal permits. CA laws do regulate the size and/or weight of the defense spray products you can carry and buy. The legal container size must be equal to or below 2.5 ounces of active product.
To be sure check with your local sherriffs office - Question:-What is the difference between pepper spray and mace spray?
I heard that mace spray makes pepper spray look like Kool Aid. Both are used as nonlethal weapons, but what is the difference between the two?
Answer:-You have a good link above me, but just to correct a thought here, Mace is the original irritant spray used since the 1930's in police work. OC Pepper is relatively newer and is FAR more powerful than Mace ever was.
Irritants are rated by SHU's (Scoville Heat Units) which measures the "burning" effect on human skin. A Jalapeno pepper is rated at 7,500 SHU. Mace is rated at 12,000 SHU. OC Pepper ( oil based) is rated at 25,000 SHU. The newest police rated is now Phase IV, which is rated at 2,000,000 SHU ( Two million). Most departments do not use the Phase IV due to the extreme burning it will do to the skin, requiring hospital treatments.
I hope this helps and you can find it useful - Question:-How long does pepper spray burn your eyes for? How badly does it burn?
I just bought some pepper spray yesterday for self-defense and I was wondering how long it burns for. Just in case I spray an attacker and know how much time I have to run or call the cops.
Answer:-you will have plenty of time.
trust me
it burns.. and if the guy tries to wash it out, it burns again.
enjoy! :D - Question:-How do you make pepper spray with chili?
i grow Thai Chili Peppers 7th hottest chili and was wondering how could i make pepper spray with them or chili powder.
Answer:-Here ya go.
don't use it for nothing but personal defense and seasoning to spice up your food.
http://www.metacafe.com/watch/889244/make_pepper_spray_homemade_teargas/ - Question:-Is it illegal to carry pepper spray on a college campus?
I drive back and forth to college frequently, but the college is in a not so great neighborhood. I'd feel much much safer if I carried pepper spray, since I carry it anywhere else. I know all colleges are different, but is it typically against school policy to carry pepper spray? Or is it illegal? It's in VA if that matters.
Answer:-Pepper spray is legal in all states but you'd have to check with your college to find out if they have any rules or restrictions against it. If they do, form a group to get it changed. The college should be concerned about the safety of their students. Additionally, some cities, States, municipalities, etc., have restrictions on the strength and/or size that is legal. Check the laws in your area. - Question:-How do I get pepper spray out of my woolen jumper?
I was walking down the street with two friends.
I crossed the road early and than some kids drove past my friends and pepper sprayed them out the window.
One couldn't see at all and I had to hold him by the arm and the spray got all over my woolen jumper.
How do I get it out, please anyone?
Answer:-I would take it to the cleaners and let the professional clean it, wool can be tricky. Let the cleaners know what it on the jumper, so they will know what to use to clean it. - Question:-What is the law concerning having pepper spray in Southern California?
I would like to have a can of pepper spray for my personal safety, and need to know the law on the issue... I also work security at night and just looking for a little help on the answer... Thanks!
Answer:-I know that when I've bought it I didn't fill out forms as with a gun. I just bought a few cans. My understanding is that you are simply responsible for damage, just as if you hit someone over the head with a chair. Be certain you have a defense. Self defense, if true, would work.

Source: http://grad-schools.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/usnews/edu/grad/rankings/hea/brief/vet_brief.php - Question:-What day did UC Davis notify its applicants about its admission decisions last year?
Hello, i am going to be a freshmen at UC Davis and i want to know how to commute to and from Davis and SF. My family doesnt own a car and I want to know whats the fastest or cheapest way to commute between the 2 cities. Thanks!
Answer:-there is a bus for students and facuutly that operates between
UC bekely and UC davis

http://www.fleet.ucdavis.edu/buses/shuttles/berkeley/schedule.php - Question:-How to get to UC Davis from San Jose with public transportation?
I need to go to UC Davis, but I don't have a car and I don't want to bother any of my friends, either. So, does anyone know how to get there with public transport?
Answer:-well you could take amtrak to sacramento the yolo bus to UC Davis
also I belive UC Davis also has a shuttle bus service from to/UC berkeley
but I'm not sure if you have to be a student there to use it - Question:-What are the transportation options to UC Davis from San Francisco?
Other than Amtrak, are there other (cheaper) ways to get to UC Davis?
I think you should apply and find out for yourself.
lee corso
- Question:-Is it true that somebody spied on Lee Corso and released a tape of him nude?
First Erin Andrews, now Lee Corso. There are some sick people out there!
Answer:-I'll buy it if he is wearing a Sooner Schooner hat! - Question:-Could Lee Corso win a presidential race?
If ESPN college football analyst Lee Corso, the best one on the whole year, ran for president would you vote for him?
Answer:- - Question:-Did anyone see Kirk Herbstreit start to tear up when Lee Corso questioned whether or not Ohio State deserved#1
I thought Kirk was going to come across the table, until Lee Corso explained what he was saying.
ROFLMAO...I like Kirk a lot as a commentator, but this was too much. His eyes got watery, and he almost bowed up when asking for clarification.
Did anyone else see last nights BCS coverage & notice this?
Answer:-i did.
and i hated how he was spposed to be telling us how georgia should go, but then decided to say that that is who he was "assigned" but what i really think is...
kirk kills me. poor baby don't cry. your team doesn't deeserve to be #1. trust me. - Question:-What is the song in the new ESPN college football commercial with Desmond Howard and Lee Corso?
The one they play when Howard is looking in the mirror, before he goes in and sees Corso playing dance dance reveloution.
Answer:-moby - Question:-Are any of you Lee Corso? Did you know that Lee Corso of college gameday worked in a zoo?
Lee Corso also was born in 1935 in Memphis.Lee coached Michigan University from 1955 to 1999.Lee Corso also is a secret agent
Answer:-1. I am not Lee Corso
2. I did not kow that he worked in a zoo
3. I did know that he was a secret agent....and a ninja!! - Question:-Why does Lee Corso always hold that damn unsharpened pencil?
I know people who have had a stroke or parkinsons sometimes carry a pencil or an object b/c their hand is permanantly clinched like that or from the shaking. Is this the case? Please help, I've been wondering this for years.
Answer:-When Lee Corso isn't playing College Football Analyst, he works for Dixon Ticonderoga which is most predominantly known for making pencils. He started carrying around a pencil on air as a gimmick and he it has become one of his trademarks. - Question:-Why doesnt Lee Corso actually comentate with kirk herbstreit?
He is always there for the pre game and post game but, is never in the booth with kirk during the game, why is this?
Answer:-I'm guessing that ESPN believe that Corso best serves them by being an analyst. To be honest with you, it works well between them, the banter flying back and forth is good.
Only way it could ever happen is if they were in a three-man booth with Musburger. And that wouldn't sound right. And, the "not-so-fast-my-friend" routine could easily grate if repeated too often during three hours plus of a football game. - Question:-Is there any truth to the rumor that Lee Corso is leaving College Gameday?
I've been hearing about this elsewhere, and was just wondering if anyone else was hearing it too. If so, I say good riddance. He's an IDIOT!
Answer:-I sure hope so. - Question:-Why does Lee Corso always pick WVU to lose? Did a mountaineer beat him up or take his girlfriend?
All four of our last 4 bowl games.
Answer:-because corso is a douche... - Question:-Why did Lee Corso say Michigan State and Michigan would win their bowl games?
Apparently he knows nothing about college football. A first grade could have told you that Alabama and Mississippi State would win today. Their are scouting reports you know.
Answer:-Mississsippi State is a much better team than people give them credit for and they proved it today. Corso doesn't know his butt from a hole in the ground. The SEC west is loaded with top tier teams, either one could beat ANYONE in the nation handily.

ohio state basketball
- Question:-watch ohio state basketball games for free?
I dont get the big ten network and am tired of missing my Ohio State basketball games on tv,is there any site that streams them live?
Answer:-I don't know.
But right now, I'm watching on the Big Ten Network, and OSU is up by 4 points with 45 seconds remaining. - Question:-Why is Ohio State Basketball ranked over Wisconsin?
Ohio State has more losses and one of them is from Wisconsin. Also Wisconsin went on a nation best winning streak. So whats the deal? I just think its a lack of respect!
Answer:-At least part of why Ohio St. is ranked higher then the Badgers might be because of the timing of their last losses. The Badgers lost more recently then Ohio St., and when you lose your ranking generally goes down. But some people probably don't give the Badgers the respect they deserve.
But don't worry about the rankings. The Badgers have a shot at winning the national championship, even if Ohio St. is ranked higher then them. The Badgers have depth, talent, and Alando Tucker rocks! - Question:-when was the last time kentucky played ohio state in basketball?
how many time has kentucky played ohio state in basketball and who has the most win in the series
Answer:-next time will be April 5!
I fear OSU the most on the left side. - Question:-Who will be the starters for ohio state basketball next year?
Sullinger is for sure coming back, William Buford is questionable about coming back, Aaron Craft will probably start, upcoming Sam Thompson is looking to be a great addition. So who will be the fifth guy? Sullinger, Craft, Buford?, Thompson and ?
Answer:-Buford already said he was coming back next season. And did you forget Deshuan Thomas? He'll more than likley be a starter. Hopefully his decision making imporves a ton. - Question:-Does anyone know where I can find pictures of the Ohio State basketball team?
I need a picture of the whole team actually, if anyone know where I can get it, please let me know!!
Thanks a lot!
Answer:-ok to find a picture of any team u could go to college basketball.com or u could look up ohiostate/collegebasketball.com - Question:-What is the song that plays at the beginning of an Ohio State basketball game?
Right before the tip, they jump up and down and sing oo oo a oooo oooooooo or something(that might not help), I've heard it before the fourth quarter at a Milwaukee bucks game too, heard it on TV vs. Wisconsin, (can't believe the Bucks Won) Any Help Appriceated.
Answer:-Seven Nation Army is the song. It's the Buckeye Bounce that they do. I love when they do that. - Question:-Ohio state basketball next game predictions when is it also?
Who we play? I think it's Thursday at Florida but idk I say we win it all and lose like 2 this year
Answer:- - Question:-Should that Ohio State Michigan basketball game today be an instant classic?
It's the Big Ten Tournament
Ohio State had the 10 point lead at half.
Michigan was hitting 3's all 2nd half and went ahead right at the end with 2.2 seconds left.
Then the long three by Evan Turner to win it for the Buckeyes.
Answer:-Evan Turner=hero. My favorite college player by far. - Question:-Anybody have a link to a picture of the new Ohio State Basketball Jersey?

austin rivers
- Question:-Austin Rivers????????????
Austin Rivers stats 2010-11???
Answer:-The following are Austin Rivers' stats for the 2010-11 season courtesy of MaxPreps.
28.8ppg, 2.2apg, .7bpg, 6.1rpg, 2spg - Question:-Is it true that Austin Rivers is going to Duke?
There have been talks about Austin Rivers (Doc Rivers' son) going to Duke next year for university. He's listed as college basketball's No. 1 recruit. Just trying to make sure.... is he going to Duke or not?
Will we see him at March Madness 2012 if Duke makes it?
Answer:-Yep, in the fall of 2011....He decided to play for the blue devils. When he originally committed to University of Florida. - Question:-Creating austin rivers on nba 2k10 for my player mode?
I am trying to create high school phenom Austin rivers for my player mode on nba 2k10. You can find different videos of him on youtube he plays for winter park high school. I want to have a player that looks just like him. What specific options should i choose for his: face, head, shot style, position, team, accessories. hairstyle, play style, and if you have anymore input it would be appreciated. be as specific as possible
Answer:-Yes you can - Question:-Who will be better in the NBA Austin Rivers or Brandon Jennings?
Jennings just finished his first year in the NBA, Rivers is still picking colleges. Whose game do you like more as as a young player trying to learn which would you emulate to learn from and get better. Break down their games.
Answer:-Brandon J is beast. - Question:-What makes Austin Rivers better than all the other incoming freshmen?
He is #1 practically everywhere why?
I have seen him play and not impressed.
Answer:-He's the son of Doc Rivers, probably another Luke Walton. - Question:-When did Austin Rivers appear on the cover of ESPN RISE magazine?
Please help. Thank you so much. Even if you do not know the exact date, do you know if it was recently???
Answer:-I believe it was in January 2010. - Question:-How good do you think Austin Rivers will be when he gets to the NBA?
Hes so good. Hes not just all raw talent, hes so smart. I think hes going to be a hall of fame type player. The kid goes through Celtic practices and as I read he does great against them.
What do you think?
STUCK, have you compared the highlights? no Austin Rivers is unbelievably talented.
Answer:-When he gets in the NBA? I think there will be an adjustment period, not that great. Nice range and very gutsy and fantastic confidence and attitude. I give him maybe two or three years to find his spot. Call me crazy but he could be a Derrick Rose/Dwayne Wade type but needs to work on his overall ball game and aggressiveness. He has a few weaknesses that the pros would eat up (ball handling) - Question:-Will Austin rivers play on dukes basketball team this year or next year?
Im just getting into college basketball, and i was wondering if he is gonna play on the 2010-2011 team or next years team. And also will Marshall plumlee play on the 2010-2011 team.
Answer:-yes he is he even said it himself.
hes going to be number 1 pick in next years draft dock rivers son! - Question:-are the celtics even trying to get Austin Rivers in the team in 2012?
how akward will it be when your dad is coaching you?
Answer:-I think it would be good to watch. I'm sure they both know each others strengths and weaknesses and will use that to there advantage. The best case scenario would be for the Boston Celtics to win the NBA Finals and for the Oklahoma City Thunder to have the worst record because the Celtics have their 1st round draft pick. - Question:-What NBA player does Austin Rivers remind you of?
I think it's somewhere between Stephen Curry, Dwyane Wade, and Deron Williams. He's a pretty well rounded player.
Answer:-Himself.
He has a high basketball IQ. He's able to get to the rim and finish better than his father. He can make the outside shot unlike his father.
He has all the benefits of being a good coach's son but has the talents and skills of a rising star.
college basketball
- Question:-College basketball?
I just want to play college basketball and have no intention of going pro, so i cant afford to miss classes of the course i have taken.
SUPPOSE i get selected by one of the colleges to play for them, then would i be missing classes? if yes then how many? will i be able to catch up on missed classes?
Answer:-I'm not intimately familiar with this, as I have never played college basketball.
However, I believe that the time/travel/practice requirement will vary from university to university.
For example, at a top-flight college basketball program, there may be more practice requirements and also more travel requirements for tourneys and so forth.
Also, certain school may place more of a priority on academics for their athletes than other schools. Different school will have different policies on tutoring and missed classes. But all schools are going to recognize that some student athletes may miss class from time to time due to athletic commitments. The univeristy recognizes this, they know what an asset athletics can be to a school, and they will be happy to accomodate you. The accomodation can take the form of tutors, giving you your assignments before-hand, or make up exams/classes. Just be sure to address any missed classes/assignments with the professor. Don't just ignore the class and hope for the best.
All in all, (assuming you are hard-working and relatively intelligent), you should have no problem playing basketball and thriving academically. Just make sure to discuss this potential issue with the head coach and school administrators before committing to the school. Find out about their policies on student athletes, and do not be afraid to ask questions. Then be prepared to work hard, take classes you enjoy, and you will do great.
Good luck. - Question:-college basketball?
i just wanted to know how to get into college basketball. i live in australia and i dont know alot about it. but do u need like a scholarship?...do u need to go 2 high school in america to get chosen beforehand? please give me as much information as u can. cheers.
Answer:-Well there are several different levels of college ball. You do not have to go to high school in the US for any of them. The one that is the highest level is NCAA D-1.
To play D1 you really need to be recruited because its the toughest to break into. If you have D1 talent and a coach or scout for a school sees you play enough you may be offered a scholarship to play for a program or a coach may offer an opportunity to walk-on and be a part of the team as a non-scholarship player. If you improve your game enough you may be able to get a scholarship a season or two after your freshman year. Here the only requirement for you would be that you can qualify academically for the school you choose.
The next one I'll talk about is NJCAA. This is the junior colleges or 2 year schools. I figured I'd talk about this one next because I know of several australians that played baseball and basketball at the NJCAA school I went to. The overall talent level isn't as high at the NJCAA especially at the D-II and D-III levels but the benefits of going this route are that the academics standards are lower.(Many US players who fail to meet the academic standards out of HS go to JC to improve their grades) and also one huge benefit about going to a JC is you can still receive an scholarship to play basketball at this level. And after your two years if you've played well enough an NCAA team may offer you a scholarship to play for them.
The next level is NCAA D-II and then NCAA D-III. These are also 4year schools like NCAA D-1 however the talent level is significantly lower and there is very little media exposure. The positives are at a D-II you can still receive a scholarship for playing basketball(However D-III does not offer athletic scholarships but there are grants available and you may qualify for an academic scholarship) and alot of these schools are very good schools to get your college degree from. So if getting a good degree is priority for you then there is alot of great D-II and D-III schools to chooe from.
The next level is NAIA. These are usually really small schools and most of them have a religious affiliation. However there are 4yr schools and they can offer atheltic scholarships. NAIA is a completely different organization from the NCAA. And again there is very little media exposure at this level but here again you can play 4 years of basketball and get a degree.
Ways for you to get noticed by coaches would be to play in as many big tournaments as possible(preferably international tournaments) However don't worry if you're not quite good enough to make an international team. The next step would be to make a recruiting packet to send out to coaches of schools you'd be interested in attending. The packet should include a bio, your stats, team info and a video of your performance in games.
Whether your goal is to play in the NBA or another international pro league, to coach, or just for the experience college ball has alot to offer. If you need any more info let me know. - Question:-College Basketball?
I was thinking today. I havent ever played highschool basketball. I am sure I could have made the team but I just didnt have time for the practices and stuff like that. When I go to college, is there anyway I could play basketball there without having played HighSchool?
Answer:-You can play Intramural. - Question:-COLLEGE BASKETBALL...?
In college basketball if a player is fould when in the act of shooting, is the shooting foul for 2 free throws no matter how many team fouls have occured?
Answer:-The team fouls don't matter, but the shooter doesn't always get two freethrows because:
If the bucket is made, the player only gets 1 freethrow (referred to as an "and 1").
If the bucket is not made, they get 2 freethrows.
If they were attempting a 3, the shooter would get 3 freethrows.
If the 3 point shooter makes the shot, the shooter gets 1 freethrow for a rare 4 point play. - Question:-How often does the college basketball be in practice and practice?
When the basketball players arrive the first day of college, but they have to go to the practice on the same day. The college basketball players must be there everyday until the time of games and after the season is over.
Answer:-What? They probably do conditioning dureing the summer and once school starts...they don't start practicing until Oct and play starting Nov...they don't practice after the season is over. - Question:-What is the difference between college basketball and pro basketball?
My class is doing a research paper and my groups topic is basketball. My topic as a group member is what is the difference between college basketball and pro basketball. I need a very detailed answer if possible if not just give me what you got and the sources would be great also. Please and Thank You!
Answer:-College:
Three point line is at about 20.1 feet
The average height of players is lower than that of the NBA
Players don't get paid, just get scholarships to play for a school
They have tournaments which are single elimination to determine who is the best in the country
The NCAA tournament is widely considered the greatest part of the sports calendar because of the parody and intensity displayed in each game.
Pro Basketball:
Players make money for playing basketball
the level of skill is much higher than in college
players tend to be taller in the NBA.
3 point line in the NBA is at about 23 feet.
Playoffs are normally 7 games, winner winning atleast 4 out of 7 games for 4 rounds until a champion is crowned.
NBA season has 82 games + playoffs compared to colege which has about 30 regular season games + the championship torunaments. - Question:-How do college basketball players get to such good schools?
First of all half of the NBA players that went to these highly known educated schools aren't really well educated, you can tell by their grammar, some of their immaturity, and some of their ghettoness I guess you can say. I know sure as hell some of these players did not get a 4.0 GPA or something, some players did and didn't I know that much.
How do these college basketball players get into these good schools and how are they not overwhelmed by the homework and so on? Do they even have classes? Do they pay someone else to do their stuff for them?
Answer:-because when your really good at basketball you can get scholarships.... the best schools want the best players so the great players get to go to great colleges no matter the grades, a 2.5 is like all you have to have anyway - Question:-How long does college basketball coaches take to response to recruiting?
Last week on Thursday I send out one of my basketball drills & skills dvd video to The Men's Head Basketball Coach of Miracosta College and now is been seven days ago I still haven't heard from the coach yet. Can anyone tell me long does college basketball coaches take to response to recruiter?...Thanks
Answer:-Um, just a guess...he didn't like what he saw so he never responded.
I'm pretty sure he'd recruit you by looking at HS games ect. Not by a video of drills/skills. - Question:-Who is the best college basketball team to watch?
I've become fed up with the NBA. So people suggested that I watch college basketball. Any suggestions of some good {winning} teams?
Answer:-North Carolina #1, Davidson, Texas, Michigan State, Michigan, Oklahoma, and UCLA are some of the top teams. I only put Michigan in there because they beat Duke twice. - Question:-Do u need to play college basketball to declare for the nba draft?
Ok so i am in college, but i dont play for my college's basketball team nor did I try out to be because of an injury. Do u need to play college basketball to declare for the nba draft?
Answer:-Not technically. There are a quite a few players in the NBA who did not even go to college. The NBA has tryouts sometimes you just have to know where they are. If you plan on trying out, good luck!

ncaa basketball
- Question:-NCAA Basketball?
I am in the March Madness mood right now and I want to get some of that action so I'm debateing with my self which college basketball game should i get for the 360, NCAA March Madness 08 or College Hoops 2K8. I've looked at gameplay and the features of both of them but i still dont know which game is better. What game do you perfer?
Answer:-College Hoops 2k8 is much better. Most magazines and websites willl agree with me - Question:-NCAA basketball?
how is ncaa college basketball structured. I mean, during the season, do they always play each team twice? How does the actual season structured?
Answer:-Every conference is different. The ACC for example, some teams don't play each other even once. However, most others play home and away with each team in their conference. - Question:-How do the NCAA basketball tournaments work?
I don't really follow NCAA men's D-1 basketball that closely. But now, I'm in a fantasy game (Protrade) that deals with conference tournaments, an NIT tournament (never heard of that one) and the NCAA tournament. How does all of this work? Are all of these tournaments separate? Can someone please explain how all of this works, I'm really confused!
It's protrade (http://www.protrade.com). They have fantasy games for pretty much every sport.
Answer:-The teams that win each conference tournament automatically advance to the NCAA tournament. There are 65 teams that play in the NCAA Tournament. The other teams that dont win their conference have to hope they get in by having a good record.
The NIT tournament is for the teams that are good, but not good enough to make the NCAA tournament.
Also in the NCAA tourmanet every team is seeded either 1-16 with the better team having the higher seed.
What fantasy game are you in? What's the website? - Question:-ncaa basketball?
with florida and OSU playing in the basketball championship does this make it the first time that the same schools met in both football and basketball championship?
Answer:-Yes. At least in the same year from what the ESPN guys were saying last night, but I take their information with a grain of salt :-) - Question:-How can you trade players in ncaa basketball 09?
In ncaa basketball 09 ps3 version i started to play a quick match with my team. I realized that the team that i was on could'nt play very well and decided to trade my player. After skimming through the game no matter what i did i couldn't find out how to trade players in the game. Can anyone tell me how you can trade players in ncaa basketball 09?
Answer:-I don't think you can trade in college. - Question:-What is the record number of upsets in a NCAA basketball tournement?
For example a 16 seed upsetting a 1 seed or 9 beating 8, ect. This would the total upsets in a years NCAA mens basketball tournement?
Answer:-this one will probably break that record - Question:-How many possible outcomes are there in the NCAA basketball tournament?
Mathematically speaking, how many different possible outcomes are there in the NCAA men's basketball tournament? There are 64 (65 counting one-play in game) teams arranged in four different brackets. Each bracket starts with 16 teams. I am too lazy to figure out the math. Can someone explain the number of possible outcomes mathematically?
Answer:-A great question at a wonderful time of the year!
First notice that the 64 teams play 63 total games: 32 games in the
first round, 16 in the second round, 8 in the 3rd round, 4 in the
regional finals, 2 in the final four, and then the national
championship game.
32+16+8+4+2+1= 63
Now let's answer an easier question.
If there were four teams, and they played three games, how many
different ways would there be to fill out a bracket? You can write
them down. There are only eight of them. Where do that eight come
from? Well, there are three games, and you have two possible choices
for each game. Hence, 2^3 = 8 possibilities.
Now back to the real tournament. Since there are 63 games to be
played, and you have two choices at each stage in your bracket, there
are 2^63 different ways to fill out the bracket.
2^63 = 9,223,372,036,854,775,808
That's more than nine quintillion possibilities. - Question:-What is the best way to play ncaa basketball if you didn't play high school basketball in the USA?
Ok i'm from the Bahamas and i've played high school basketball in my school. I want to play college basketball in the ncaa. Is it best for me to go to a junior college and play 1 year in the njcaa then go on to the ncaa.
Answer:-I would say start out playing division 2 or even 3 depending on our skill level but i say don't ever be short on your confidence because anything could happen just believe in yourself and train and you could be the one i would be watching in the final four
Advice: Never sell yourself short because big things could always happen - Question:-what jobs do ncaa basketball players apply for after college if they dont get into the nba?

state college pa
- Question:-Where are good rock climbing sites in State College PA?
I'm a student going to Penn State in State College, PA and I'm interested in rock climbing. Are there any good rock gyms near State College or good out-door spots there?
Answer:-Try this:
http://www.rockclimbing.com/cgi-bin/routes/page.cgi?g=North+America/United+States/Pennsylvania
I can't say that the info is the best. I live in NEPA and I can't find some of the places listed.
Have you tried asking the guys in the gear store by Chili's downtown...I can't remember the name of the store. - Question:-Anyone have any suggestions for things to do for fun with kids in State College, PA?
I have to take a business trip to State College PA and I am taking my family. We went there two years ago and couldn't do much with the kids aside from swim in the hotel pool and walk the streets and little downtown shops - which we will do again, but looking for other suggestions. My hubby will be stuck in the hotel with the kids - and will definitely need to get out after all of that!
Thanks to everyone for your suggestions!
Answer:-mostly outdoor stuff there star lite drive in theater. Indian caverns is cool, bellafonte railroad if fun season only though. Alan seeger :http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/Forestry/oldgrowth/alanseeger.aspx is very cool I highly recommend it, it absolutely wreath the drive. also the Brice Jordan center has shows http://www.bjc.psu.edu/
DelGrosso’s Amusement Park is 30 miles down the road.

Im looking for some good lakes to fish in around State College Pa for this weekend.
Answer:-Centre & Huntingdon County area:
http://fishandboat.com/hotspots.htm - Question:-If you live or have lived in state college, pa would you recommend it to a family moving there?
My husband has recently taken a job in Pa and it is not at the college, and I was just reading on one of the forums that it is a gloomy little no culture town. Is this true?
Answer:-If you're looking for a safe town with a terrific school district, then State College will fit the bill. It is still somewhat reasonable to live there as well.
"No culture" - depends on your definition of culture. There are always festivals and such going on, especially during the summer. If you're a college football fan, then you're at a good place for tailgating and Big 10 excitement. The university has plenty going on at all times. Plus, you're an hour away from Harrisburg, and two hours away from Pittsburgh. The downtown area has plenty of little shops to keep you busy, plus it's very quaint. Parking is cheap, too.
Naturally, the students dominate the town, so Christmas and summer are always more desirable if you're not into crowds.
Happy Valley is a beautiful place, and summer and fall make up for the winters. - Question:-Where can I find a free or low cost kitten in or around State College, PA?
My boyfriend and I have been on the search for a kitten forever. I didn't realize how hard this would be. We have been to all the pet stores and the shelters and there aren't any kittens. What we are looking for now is someone who's kitty had a litter and now needs to adopt out the kittens. If you know anyone near State College in that situation please respond. Thanks!
Answer:-look in the newspaper in the pets section, where i live they have lots of cats that need homes. but i live like 10 states away from u. - Question:-Are there any good mom and pop jewelrs in State College Pa?
I'm looking to avoid chains like zales or kay get a good deal on diamond earrings and tennis bracelet. Are there any independent jewlers in State College(by penn state main) that have good deals/service and quality products?
Answer:-State college is like 120 miles from Philly - Question:-Looking for an affordable apartment in downtown State College, Pa. Any Ideas?
I'm looking for a place for 3 or 4 guys in State College, PA. Hopefully close to campus (a few blocks). But we want to pay no more than 330 a month. Well, something around 250 would be perfect.
Anyone know of a decent place to live downtown that's not expensive. If it's cheaper to go with 3 people in a 1br we'd do that, or if it's cheaper to go 4 in a 2br we'd do that too. Anyone have past experience of know of a nice place?
THANKS!
Answer:-http://pennstate.craigslist.org/
http://pennstate.craigslist.org/apa/415293306.html
3 in a 1 bdrm is really crowded. 4 in a 2 bdrm is more doable - either bunk beds in both bdrms or two twin beds in each if there's room, or futons! If any of you are handy, create some semi-loft bed frames. Have the bed about waist or chest height - easier to jump onto than a bunk, but lots of storage space underneath.
4 x $250 = $1000
4 x $330 = $1320
Not real easy to find as they go fast, but keep looking! Don't forget to ask for the utilities history - depending on how well-built the place is (or isn't!) the utilities can really range. - Question:-What is located close to state college, pa that feels far from penn state's campus?
I'm visiting my boyfriend this weekend and i know he is so sick of being on his college campus. What's around the town that we can do where he'll feel far away?
Answer:-Not much!!! What I did when there was rent a hotel room in town, feels celebrity like compared to the dorm! - Question:-Fun with kids in State College PA?

Answer:-Well this summer my family and I went on summer vacation to State College and we found this really cool underwater cavern it is a short drive away but it is worth it there are a lot of things to do there.
Here is a link to their website:

Everyone shut up about if you're going to say Yugioh's lame or something or else I will report abuse you. I still like it. Thank you. Well where could I find a Yugioh Tournament in State College, PA? Or somewhere pretty close (30 min drive no more is accepted.) Because I want to trade there and play there thanks!;)

joe paterno fired
- Question:-Would of any other college fired Joe Paterno already?
2 national championships in 40+ years that's not that great. if he coached at a university in florida or Cali or some other big college's I think he would of been fired year's ago. is Penn State scared to fire him? what if he goes 0-12?
Answer:-This isn't the SEC, College Football in the North isn't the same as Florida. Sure Alumni will threaten to withhold money, and may even throw a few less bucks that way, but in the South they would stop giving money to the school. - Question:-Is there anyway Joe Paterno could be fired?
Or are they going to have to pry his clipboard from his cold dead hands.
Answer:-Joe Pa is the one coach in college football who will decide his own fate... even Bobby Bowden couldn't do that! - Question:-Why was joe Paterno fired?
My husband is all upset about this, but I'm curious about the details. so, a few years back, the other coach guy did what to a kid how young in the shower? I read that Paterno DID report it to the athletic director- why should he have done more? how old was the kid? was he raped? and WTF does that have to do w these other kids getting molested? Paterno didn't do that. I feel bad for the kids and wish that more had been done the first time, but it sounds like paterno DID report it. Thanks
Yeah, I've been looking into it. The story my husband told me was that sandusky and a COLLEGE student were in the locker and the boy said he was raped. (which regardless of age is still horrible, but at that age an18-22 year old is old enough to actually decide to press charges and protect himself from the rapist) So now that I found out it was a ten year old from some charity event, it makes me sick. that should have def been reported to authorities right away by everyone with an inkling of it. I'm glad he got fired- ewww, even found out that Sandusky has a book out called "Touched". ewww. I told me husband the details, but he was still like, "But it's JOE". arrghhhh...
Answer:- - Question:-Joe Paterno really fired or retiring?
What is really going on?
Answer:-Retiring - Question:-Do you think Joe Paterno deserved to be fired?
I know this is more of a sports section question but it's also political as well to an extent.
Do you feel sorry for the 84 year old respected coach or not?
Answer:- - Question:-Will Chairman Obama be just as pissed off as Joe Paterno is for a SEX Scandal Firing when he is Fired?
With the worst Economic Criminal Record of any President, Chairman Obama will be going DOWN, just like Joe Paterno did has and won't.
Answer:- - Question:-Joe Paterno was fired. Are liberals happy that they have destroyed yet another great man?
Answer:- - Question:-Why is Joe Paterno being punished for fulfilling his legal obligations and expected protocol at Penn State?
He did EXACTLY what he was supposed to do when he heard about Sandusky. To the T.
Penn State's guidelines said to report it to the athletic director. Paterno did that.
It's the athletic director who then failed to perform HIS duties.
Why is the legendary coach Joe Paterno being fired?
Answer:-It's all about protecting the Penn State brand. McQueary witnessed the assault and reported it to Paterno but McQueary didn't call the police and still has his job. Paterno didn't witness the assault so he forwarded the report. It was the college administration that decided to hush it up...to protect the Penn State brand.
If they had fired McQueary people would have said, "Who?" So they fired Paterno as a useless declaration that they were "tough on child abuse." It's Paterno's superiors who dropped the ball, not Paterno, and they're now facing charges. Paterno was sacrificed to protect the system from public opinion. No child is safer as a result of Paterno's firing but it gave the ignorant mob a body to lynch. It's all about the brand. Just try selling shirts with any college's name on without a contract and you'll see how serious they all are about protecting their brand.
If you think it's so easy to go outside the chain of command in an education hierarchy, here's an example. An elementary teacher noticed suspicious bruises on one of her students and reported it to the administration on more than one occasion. One day the boy came in and had bruises on his back and legs (from being hit with a broom handle) so she called the police herself. The administration came down on her like a ton of bricks and threatened her job. She was told, "Don't you have any compassion for a sick adult?!" Laws (passed several years later) requiring teachers to report suspected abuse aren't there to force teachers to act as much as to protect them from the administration if they do.
You're right; Paterno did EXACTLY what he was supposed to do. If he had witnessed the assault himself he would have been justified in calling the police. McQueary DID witness it and didn't call the police. - Question:-Did y'all know that Penn State just fired Joe Paterno?
It's true.
Answer:- - Question:-Why hasn't Joe Paterno been fired and arrested?
His assistant coach and a janitor told him the gay pedophile ex-coach was buttraping a 10 year old in the PSU showers and he did the bare minimum which was tell the school official when he should have gone to the police!
Because of his inaction and "passing the buck", 20 more kids were buttraped by his best friend!!!!!
SHAME ON YOU JOE "PEDOPHILE" PATERNO!!!!!!!!!!!!

joe paterno
- Question:-Hugh Heffner and Joe Paterno are about the same age, but who played the more important role in history?
Hugh Heffer established the adult industry. Joe Paterno established college football where it is today. Twenty years from now, who would you look back to and say had a bigger role in our history.
Answer:-hef of course
mark k - Question:-Is this proof Joe Paterno is the classiest act in college football?
All his players are devoid of talent, therefore they couldn't possibly be paid. Ergo Joe Paterno doesn't pay players. Class act.
Answer:-Todd Blackledge was good. - Question:-How will this scandal affect the legacy of Joe Paterno?
How will he be remembered? Michael Vick can win a super bowl, and he will be remembered as a dogfighter first, SB winning QB second. John Calipari will be remembered for the NCAA violations everywhere he went. Even John Wooden has the cloud over him of some issues, but he's actually remembered as a coach first.
For 45 years, Paterno's seemed like the nicest guy in the coaching fraternity. But he covered up child molestation, which is completely inexcusable. Will this ruin our memories of kind ol' Joe Pa forever?
Answer:- - Question:-Should Joe Paterno retire after this season?
I am a huge Penn State fan and I am planning on going to college there, but I think Joe Pa should retire. He is too old to be coaching and he obviously has just lost the touch. He has so much talent on that team and he is basically just wasting it. Luckily, Austin Scott got kicked off the team, or Evan Royster would have never gotten a chance to play this year. Don't get me wrong Joe Paterno was a great coach but he should hand the job over to someone else!
Answer:-If he wants to, that man has earned the right to choose how and when he leaves. - Question:-Does anyone know where I can find the video of Joe Paterno chasing down Dick Honig?
It's a shame that video footage of football is hard to come by but I've been searching the internet to no avail for the 2002 Penn State Iowa game where Joe Paterno chases down Dick Honig. Does anyone know where to find this and or other great college football clips?
Answer:-In 1002? There wasn't any video back then. But there was Joe! - Question:-Why is Joe Paterno catching all the heat for what Jerry Sandusky did?
Joe Paterno was told about the sexual assault allegations and reported them to his superior the athletic director. So why is Joe Paterno at fault??? And not one Jerry Sandusky or two the athletic director for not acting??
Answer:-The big cheeses at PSU have been trying for years to get him out. He's been there so long he has become an institution, and it has been near impossible to put himout to pasture. Now they finally have a reason that they can justify. - Question:-Would it be fair for Penn State to remove Joe Paterno if the guy charged is convicted?
Would it be fair for Joe Paterno to be kicked out of the door if he really was not aware what took place.
Answer:-If they have proof that he had prior knowledge, he just might get the 'early retirement' treatment. - Question:-Will Chairman Obama be just as pissed off as Joe Paterno is for a SEX Scandal Firing when he is Fired?
With the worst Economic Criminal Record of any President, Chairman Obama will be going DOWN, just like Joe Paterno did has and won't.
Answer:- - Question:-Do you think these charges will affect Joe Paterno's legacy?
Do you think the charges of child sexual abuse on Joe Paterno's defensive coordinator and the fact that he didn't alert authorities and only his boss is enough to ruin his legacy as one of the greatest coaches of college football? Maybe even all of professional football?
I for one am still a huge Joe Paterno fan and hope something happens to allow him to stay coach, but that's just me. So what do you think? Is he still one of the best coaches despite this?
Answer:- - Question:-How many career championships has Joe Paterno won?
How many career Division 1 championships has Joe Paterno won?
Answer:-He has won 2 National Championships and has had 4 Unbeaten -Untied teams.

- Question:-Penn state?
What would you consider the best branch campus of penn state and why? im applying for main but if i dont get in, i probably am still going to go there. thanks for the help/suggestions!
Answer:-I'm a sophomore at Altoona. Honestly, I love it SO much. It's only an hour from main campus so the option of attending games is always there.
This campus is beautiful any time of the year. The classes are smallish (my largest [the Gen-Eds] are about 80 kids) and the professors actually care about us.
I adore it here, definitely consider PSU Altoona, and feel free to contact me with any questions :)
Oh, BTW--I'm from NJ, but I still feel right at home and comfortable at PSUA. - Question:-Penn State?
im a junior in high school, and im looking into colleges. i was on the Penn State website, but it doesnt specify if i can get a degree in interior design (and fashion if possible). Does anyone know if Penn State offers degrees in those?
Answer:-It doesn't look like Penn state offers an Interior Design degree. However, the following schools in Pennsylvania do:
Bradley Academy for the Visual Arts - York
The Art Institute of Philadelphia - Philadelphia
The Art Institute of Pittsburgh - Pittsburgh
Arcadia University - Glenside
Drexel University - Philadelphia
Harcum College - Bryn Mawr
La Roche College - Pittsburgh
Marywood University - Scranton
Moore College of Art & Design - Women's Art and Design College - Philadelphia
Philadelphia University - Philadelphia - Question:-penn state?
what are the the required scores for the sat and act for penn state college?
ya Penn State U
Answer:-You mean Penn State University? We're a university, not a college. What are your current SAT scores? You're going to need high SAT scores if you want to get onto Main Campus. If you have lower SATs you'll probably get an offer acceptance at a branch campus, then you'll transfer to Main in about 2 years. - Question:-How does the Penn state football team travel to away games in other states?
When the Penn state football team travels to away games how do they get there? Is it by plane or bus?
Answer:-mostly by airplane - Question:-Is it possible to reapply to a different Penn State campus after already applying to another?
I recently sent in my application and set Penn State Berks as my primary choice and the University Park as my alternate. I thought I wanted to go to Berks for sure, but I'm thinking I might as well take advantage of my good grades in high school, and try to go to University Park.
I already paid the enrollment fees, and have accepted Penn State's offer. Is it possible to try and switch yet? Or is it too late?
Answer:-It's not too late until classes start.. your enrollment fees will vary from college to college as refundable.. each probably has a cutoff date to cancel the enrollment, check with the college administration... only they may know that answer..doesn't hurt to ask - Question:-How does a sorority at penn state purchase a house/senior house?
I read that it would potentially be possible for a sorority to purchase a house at penn state and use that instead of living on the floor and having a suite. I was just curious if there is any truth to it.
Answer:-There are no actual brothel laws ANYWHERE. Anyone who says there are, is just repeating old rumors. See source.
There are no brothel laws at Penn State, but there are zoning restrictions on land. From The Collegian archive; http://www.collegian.psu.edu/archive/2003/10/10-07-03tdc/10-07-03dnews-01.asp
Talk to your house corporation board, they will know if there is any way for you to get official sorority housing. If you getting a house would make you the only sorority with a house, Panhellenic will have a problem with it. Dues will go up if you get a house.
To circumvent all the issues (and get a house quickly) have a few sisters get together and rent a house. Work around the zoning restrictions. You won't get the official sorority house designation, but you can hold sisterhood events there. - Question:-How good do you think Penn State football will be next season?
I was wondering your opinion on how well penn state will do, and how far they would make, and how high would they rank, stuff like that. Also please tell me how big our chances are at getting Terrelle Pryor if you can. Thanks!
Also maybe how big is the chance we install the spread with Daryl clark and/or Terrelle pryor?
Answer:-not very good and also not very bad. They need to hire new coach. - Question:-What is Penn State looking for in the personal statement?
It's only 1200 characters! How do I fit anything into that? My introduction is 808 characters already.
Anyone know any sites with examples of penn state personal statements? Or better, personal experience with writing it?
Answer:-Yeah you're going to want to cut that intro down hun! They get tens of thousands of applications yearly, so it takes a long time to read anything. Basically, have a short intro introducing yourself, explain a few qualities about yourself in the body (using real world examples) and then wrap it up with a nice little conclusion. Short and sweet is the way to go! Keep it basic but also make sure you can get your points across and make your personality shine through, and you will be fine! - Question:-What type of personality do you have to have to go to penn state main and fit in?
What type of personality do you have to have to go to penn state main and fit in?
What kind of personality gets into Penn State Main? Like, when they were in high school, what were they like? Or what were you like in high school (if you made it in)? Do the shy kids make a reputation there? Or are most of the penn state main students partiers from the start?
Answer:-there is no such thing
evryone is different - Question:-What campus at Penn State should I go to?
I'm a junior in high school, and once I graduate, I was planning on going to community college for a year or two so it won't be as expensive. From there, I was planning on going to Penn State (of course, if I'm accepted) and I want to major in Astronomy and minor in Physics.
I just don't know what campus to go to? I'm planning on going to that campus for two years, and then going to University Park for my Junior and Senior years.
But what campus should I go to for my Freshman and Sophomore years?
Answer:-I, too, don't understand the math and why you're planning for 6 years to complete your bachelor's degree. But assuming you start at a Penn State branch and end up at main campus, you're best bet is to attend a branch that has a bachelor's degree in Physics and/or Astronomy. Otherwise, there may not be many physics or astronomy courses available for you to take before transferring to University Park.
I searched the PSU website for branches that have Astronomy or Physics baccalaureate programs and found only Penn State Erie (The Behrend College) with a listing of Physics as a major. In fact, I don't see Physics listed at University Park as an available major, either, but perhaps there's an explanation for that. As for Astronomy, only University Park appears to have this available, and it is in conjunction with Astrophysics.
Of course, every branch will have plenty of gen eds to choose from. If your choice is based on campus location preference, I recommend Penn State Harrisburg. I earned my master's degree there and I really like that campus for its location, its proximity to a pleasant but not remote surrounding area, and its active campus life. I also like Penn State Altoona and Penn State Berks; Altoona is close to State College, which is a nice feature, and Berks is just a pretty campus.
If money is the only factor (and you're not going to a community college), I will point out that the tuition difference between Harrisburg/Berks/Altoona/Erie and University Park is only about $1700 per semester right now, or approximately $3400 a year. If attending any other branch campus (other than the graduate schools at Great Valley, Hershey, and Dickinson), the tuition difference is more like $2200 a semester.
I hope all of this helps! And go Penn State! :)
