2012 nfl mock draft

  • Question:-2012 NFL mock draft pick.?

Answer:-2012 is too hard to predict as the 2012 college football season hasn't been played yet.. but if the 2012 draft was today, (with this years draft order), i'd say LaMichael James goes 1st to Carolina.. Then 49ers trade up to grab Luck at #2.

    Answer:-
  • Question:-2011 NFL prediction Patriots?
the patriots are having a great year, but they have several gaps to fill, so i wanted to know what gaps you think they will fill first. They lack depth on the pass rush, runningback, and wide reciever with no real deep threat. In a mock draft i saw them take Robby Ingraham with pick 14 and another cornerback with pick 31. What do you think they need to adress first?

BQ: If there is a lockout next year, will there still be a 2011 and 2012 NFL draft?

Answer:-They might take a receiver if there is a great value available but they are clearly not having any trouble throwing the ball. If they do take one to serve as a deep threat it'll be a guy taken lower in the draft who plays humble like the rest of their guys, not a big shot early in the draft who might not block or work as hard.

They always do such a good job of stashing picks that I think they can really just afford to take the best value available at each of their slots without really having to pick for need, they are the best team in the NFL so far this season after all so it's not like they really have gaping holes to fill.

I was thinking of buying a couple items, and then having the cashier ring up each item as a seperate transaction so I could use multiple $5 off coupons.....anyone else done this and it worked?

Answer:-I am a cashier at Kohls. You're really not supposed to do that. Even if they're separate purchases, it says on the more recent coupons only one coupon per household.

We've had customers try to use one for each item they have (most someone tried was 11). People buy them in bulk on eBay for pennies.

michelle duggar

  • Question:-How old is jim-bob and michelle duggar from 19 kids and counting 2011?
I love the show 19 kids and counting:) but i have always wondered how old jim- bob and michelle duggar are. i would appreciate it if someone out there that knows could tell me:D

Answer:-Jim Bob Duggar (born July 18,1965) he is 46.
Michelle Duggar (born September 13,1966) she is 45.
  • Question:-Do you think this new mom of octuplets is giving Michelle Duggar a run for her money?
The mom had 6 kids before taking more fertility treatments and then she had 8 more kids... a grand total of 14 kids! Seriously, after 6, wouldn't you think that's enough?

Anyhow, do you think Michelle Duggar has some "healthy" competition now for the most kids under one roof? LOL.
KItkat- I won't argue with you on that! I make think the Duggars are nutty, but at least they are self sustaining and don't live with their mother.

What I meant by "a run for her money" regards the number of kids and media attention.
Oh and another point- Michelle Duggar didn't use fertility treatments!

Answer:-i think she is an idiot, she isn't even living at home. and she already had six. maybe it was a sign that's enough children your already living with your parents! your husband is going back to iraq. she is so selfish and i am disgusted that she would do such a thing. and my question is how are they going to afford it? and i feel bad for those kids they most likely wont have the greatest life unless TLc picks them which i don't think that they deserve it honestly.

they are no match to the duggars because the duggars can support themselves they were all natural and planned and prepared! its not healthy ha ha.,

    but possibly competition....
  • Question:-Does Michelle Duggar look like she is high?
Do you think that Michelle Duggar looks like she is high on some drugs often... I see her looking in the camera and off in space sometimes when she is thinking it seems to me like shes really high on something.

Answer:-It's a wide-eyed glazed look that most cult members seem to have.
  • Question:-Why do people slam Michelle Duggar for having her older kids help out with the younger kids?
At least it's within the family, you know? Most women go off and leave their kids in daycare pretty much all day and people say nothing bad about that. Why is it so wrong of Mrs. Duggar to have her kids help out?

    Answer:-
  • Question:-What do you think about Michelle Duggar being pregnant with her 19th child?
Apparently they've decided to continue to have children until Michelle physically can't.
Guys I didn't provide my own opinion, the additional note is a fact.

Answer:-more power to her. I dont get why people think she is selfish. decades ago it wasn't abnormal to have big family, and in my opinion those generations seem to be more well adjusted then these crazy kids today
  • Question:-Do you think Anna Duggar and Michelle Duggar get along?
Today on Good Morning America, Michelle and Jim Bob announced their 19th is on the way. Meredith Vieira said congrats and then asked Anna how she is feeling and to me it seemed like Michelle acted as if Anna was "stealing her spotlight". Even in Anna's responses to Merediths questions, she addressed Michelle as "Mrs.Duggar". I don't know about any of you all, but I call my Mother in Law by her first name. Just seems like Anna is not well liked by the "Original Duggar's".

Answer:-I didn't call my mother in law much of ANYTHING the first 6 years of marriage, only started last year after 7 years and now that we've hit 8 I filed for divorce from her abusive son.

I hope my ex never speaks of his family to me again.
I know I wasn't liked by my ILs.

I feel sorry for Anna but she knew what she was getting into when she married #1 of 19.......... :/
  • Question:-Kate Gosselin vs. Michelle Duggar. What do you think of both of these moms?
I enjoy watching Jon & Kate Plus 8 as well as 17 Kids and Counting. I think the difference in the personality of Kate Gosselin and Michelle Duggar is interesting.

What differences do you notice in the 2? What do you think about them, in general? Do you enjoy watching their TV shows?
I relate better to Kate Gosselin. I admire Michelle Duggar's patience, but I don't think I could keep it together all the time like she appears to..lol.

Answer:-I too, love both of the shows, and admire BOTH moms for what they do!! I feel I can better relate to Kate's parenting styles....and they keep it real for the camera's. However, Im not saying that Michelle is not keeping it real. As she is! They are the way they are, as they are deeply religious, and thats what they base their family values on. I dont think she's taking her children to the thrift store because they cant afford it, but simply because there's more to life than name brand clothing, and trying to fit in! I take my children to thrift shops, as well as I have enough pride to shop in them myself...and my family isnt struggling. Its just that materialistic crap doesnt mean anything to me. So I can relate to her better that way! I think they both are very patient loving moms, and I admire them both, because no way could I handle more than the 3 Im about to have!
  • Question:-What happens to Michelle Duggar on her 19th or 20th child?
They say it is going to change their lives for ever? What does that mean? I am so worried for her. She could have a stroke what does that mean? If you are reading, I hope everything goes well.

Answer:-haha i just saw this commercial like 10 minutes ago and ran to my computer to find out just wat ur asking!
i had noooo idea she was having her 19th?! where was i....wowow
anyways...she was supposed to hav her kid march 18th but instead had it like december 11th...it was only 25 weeks old. they were afraid the kid was going to have mental problems or complications because having a baby this early usually results in severe problems. i read theirs an 82% chance the baby will be fine...i havnt heard anything so far on the condition of the child but i think its ok since it hasnt hit big news tht its retarded or dead or anything like tht...but who knows. btw the childs name is Josie Brooklyn :)
  • Question:-What health risks is Michelle Duggar taking having so many kids?
I don't care to hear peoples opinions on if what they are doing is right or wrong....just what she is risking health wise? How would that many kids affect her body?

Answer:-every pregnancy comes with health risks whether it is your first or 19th. so obviously each time she gets pregnant she faces all of the "normal" risks.
the baby she just had a few days ago was delivered by cesarean and i am pretty sure it was not her first c-section. having multiple c-sections can cause a lot of scar tissue and then complications from that. otherwise there's no risk that i know of from just being pregnant a lot. you are supposed to wait at least 6 months (probably varies based on who you ask) between pregnancies so your body can heal and the older you get the riskier the pregnancies become.
but again, i am pretty sure that just being pregnant a lot does not negatively affect a woman's health.
  • Question:-What do you make of Michelle duggar having her 19th child?
Do you think it's a bit much considering her youngest child is only 8 months, and she will become a grandmother next month?

What do you think of her views on no prenatal testing?

Do you think it's a good idea to have a large family?

Would you prefer a small or large family, how many?

Answer:-Do you think it's a bit much considering her youngest child is only 8 months, and she will become a grandmother next month?

Well, in a purely human logic sense, I do think it's a bit much and worry about her health. But knowing their beliefs on having as many children as God is willing to give them I am not shocked and would expect them to do nothing less. I mean, you don't get 18 kids by saying, hmmmm I think we'll shoot for 18 and stop. They said, we will leave it to God, period. That doesn't mean they stop having sex, doesn't mean they change their mind when God gives'em too much, it just means they'll leave it to God. You don't renig on your beliefs midway through...even if they don't make good sense to other people.

What do you think of her views on no prenatal testing?

They do prenatal testing. We've seen a million ultrasound visits and doctor visits. Maybe you are talking about the amnio test. I'm in agreement with that. From what I understand it doesn't fix anything, they just tell you if your child is likely to have Down's Syndrome and that gives you the chance to abort him or her before they are born. If you KNOW you wouldn't abort your child what's the point in having that test? If you are talking about some other tests, I dunno. I didn't realize they skipped the health checkup parts.

Do you think it's a good idea to have a large family?

For some, I do. It's up to them and God. My only concern ever with these folks or those like them is that they are truly caring for, loving and protecting their children adequately. And of course, you can't tell that by watching t.v. no matter how close to 'reality' it's supposed to be. Assuming no one or 3 people (most likely the oldest girls) are being overburdened by family chores and that everyone is happy and healthy, I think large families are great.

Would you prefer a small or large family, how many?

I've got 1 and that works for me, lol. If God wanted me to have more, that would be fine too. But I don't know that I'm an 18 kid kind of girl. I'm not disciplined enough. I know that already.

duggar family

  • Question:-Duggar Family!?!?
The Duggar family was JUST on the Today Show and announced that shes pregnant with #18!!

I'm just floored, anyone else think this is crazy?

Yes its their choice etc... I understand this, but my gosh 18?
    http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/20134584/
    Not 3 vans..they have a BUS!!!!
They really are not financially independent..they are depending on reality tv shows such as the one on discovery to keep them going...
Completely agree with the adoption aspect!

Why not adopt unwanted babies..could this be why abortion rates are soooo high..cause everyone wants biological children and not adopted ones?

Answer:-They wind up having at least 20-22 kids before she hits menopause! They are just nuts. And they are in this little world all of their own, it is really creepy I think. They are all homeschooled too - do those kids socialize with anyone besides their own siblings? Of course, Discovery Health and TLC just love to play up the Duggars and now keep showing other families just like that on "Kids by the Dozen". Some people thinks the Gosselins are nuts having 8 kids (though it was really only 2 pregnancies), but these people just keep having more and more. Their monthly grocery bill is probably more than my mortgage!!
  • Question:-What do you think of the Duggar family teaching their daughters not to go to college?
The father of the Duggar family said that he believes it's not a womans place to go to college. Instead, a woman is to be a stay at home mom, not to become a career woman.

What are your thoughts on this?

Answer:-Does not surprise me..I watched one show and I never want to watch another.
  • Question:-What is your opinion of the Duggar family believing in chaperones for dating?
The Duggar family believes that chaperones are necessary when dating.

What is your opinion of this family?

Answer:-I like them, and I think if more people were as concerned about their childrens welfare, this world would be a better place.
  • Question:-How do you feel about the Duggar family?
What are your opinions on the Duggar family?
How do you feel about the number of children in this family?
What do you think about their lifestyle?
The way the children are being raised?

Also, would you rather watch an episode of Jon and Kate Plus 8 as opposed to the Duggar family's series? Why or why not?

I'm just curious to see what everyone's opinions are on these families.

Answer:-The Duggar are just odd to me. Yet, I love watching their show. Personally, I think 18 children is too many. I work in a school based setting with about 20 children. It's difficult to give 20 children all the attention they need, all the time. I could only imagine what it's like raising 18 children. A few of them have to feel as though they are being ignored.

I mean, just watch Jon and Kate Plus 8. On a few of the episodes, they made it a point to bring each child out for their very own, private day with mom and dad. That way, they got one on one attention and a chance to be an individual.

I don't think the Duggars are getting that. I'm glad they have strong faith and family values. But, they just seem a bit outdated. I just don't see any of those children living outside the little community that's been established for them in Arkansas. They will marry and associate with people solely like them for the rest of their lives. They could never move up North or out West, I just don't think they'd fit in or every be mainstreamed into a different area of the country.

I love Jon and Kate Plus 8. Kate's a little much for me sometimes. She needs to relax. I like Jon, he's understand what battles to pick with the kids. He gets that kids are just going to be kids sometimes.
  • Question:-duggar family!!?
    ok 17 kids

    who thinks this is ok...
tell me what you think about this family

Answer:-Who in the heck are we to judge a family who has a lot of children? When did we get so high and mighty we have to pass judgment on a loving and supportive family unit. The Duggars may not live a "normal" American life, but is that really so bad? They live debt free, did you know that? How many Americana's do you know who live debt free? I don't and I don't have ANY kids. They are frugal, they are good money managers, they have taught their children responsibility!!! And no, they don't "make" their kids do chores and force them into a life of servant-hood, the kids WANT to help because that's what family is all about. Our world has become so kid centered that we have forgotten what parenting is all about, teaching responsibility. Too many people are speaking out of school about the Duggar family. Their kids are healthy, educated, respectful, well mannered, loving, family centered children! If only everyone in America would take care of the 2 or 3 kids they have as well as the Duggars do then the world would be a better place in my opinion!!
  • Question:-What are you feelings about the Duggar Family?
Tell me your feelings - good or bad - about the Duggar Family and why you feel the way you do.

Answer:-I have never heard of the Duggar family. Who are they?

Edit: Well, after reading the rest of the posts, I've figured out the Duggars are the religious nutjobs on TV who have 20 kids or something. Personally, I find this absolutely SICK. How can you give proper love and attention to that many kids? How do you give comfort to one who's sick or read bedtime stories?
  • Question:-Why does everybody (most everybody anyway) dislike the Duggar family for having 17 children?
if they can afford 17/18 kids, than who cares, right? Besides, i don't know why they take all the heat. There are plenty of other families nowadays with that many kids. If you google it, there is a Russian family in California who have 17 kids. Nobody talks about them or gives them hell about it. My family has 14 kids (we would of had 16 kids if it wasn't for my 2 brothers passing away). 8 of us are adopted, but still. Nobody makes our lives miserable because of it. So why do you, when typing the Duggar family into google, find hundreds of websites saying how stupid and irresponsible they are. Not to mention the names they get called. I mean, leave them alone, they aren't hurting you (and don't even begin to give me that crap about how the world is overpopulated). I want you to give me one thing, just one thing, horrible in your PERSONAL life that is all messed up because of the Duggars. you can't.
haha, baxter, i loved your answer. i've already run into 5.

Answer:-Actually, the people in the US complaining about overpopulation apparently don't know how to read. Once the baby boomers start kicking off, we will approach negative replacement. Meaning, more people will be dying than being born. I think your parents rock!!!! Adopting 8 blessings, making a complete family from broken shards, your family kicks *ss!!! My own relatives criticise me for wanting more and I have three beautiful kids. 9 out of 10 people are inherently stupid. If you and I aren't stupid, that means we're going to run into18 idiots today.
  • Question:-The duggar family, from the show "19 kids and counting" mathematics speaking shouldn't one be different?
Okay with that so many kids around, shouldn't one of those kids be an atheist, or liberal, or just have opposite view then there families? Because that what usually happens in family a couple has usually two or three kids, and one or two usually think different and view life different then the parents.

I mean look at Ronald Reagon kids!

So shouldn't the duggar kids increaase there odds having there childeren think different then there parent lifestyle?

    Answer:-Possibly, but not necessarily.
  • Question:-What qualifies the Duggar family to have a television show, and is that how they support themselves?
It seems like gloried overpopulation to me, and being supported how? Well, I suppose if you get enough viewers to buy into that kind of junk. But it's discovery health channel. I enjoy the ER shows and stuff. What does having a big family have to do with anything more than being wasteful, just like that crazy woman in California who already had six kids and just had octuplets, and I hope there are no hand-outs because these people make choices.

Answer:-no it's not. they have commercial rental properties (and they say this in the opening credits sequence on every show) and they own property that has a cell tower that a few different companies rent. they are very wise with their spending and have no debt. the house and land are paid for, so all they really have as expenses are the utilities (and they designed the house to be very efficient and inexpensive to maintain), food, clothing, and fuel. while food may be a couple thousand dollars a month, the others aren't near that much so i'm sure their monthly bills are less than $5000. with 17 kids at home, including a few teenage boys (aka bottomless pits). that's not bad. and it's not hard to maintain with the income from the sources i listed, not to mention they did write a book and get income from that. the family came into the national eye when michelle was named young mother of the year in arkansas (they might have been on tv before this, but i don't think so). they supported themselves for all those years before any of the shows, when they had 14 kids and before. they've been self-sufficient since their oldest was very young.
and having a big family isn't any more wasteful than having a small one, as a matter of fact i bet they "waste" less than the average family considering they buy everything used (recycle old stuff no one else wants so new products don't have to be made for them) and have no debt.
  • Question:-Why do people hate on the Duggar family?
They seem like a nice respectful family with good morals, yet they seem to get under peoples skin for some reason. Why is that?

ambition

  • Question:-Ambition??
What is ambition??? is it a feeling? personality?

    how would you categorize ambition?

    thx

Answer:-i would categorise ambition as a personality trait. being confident and forward thinking. it is having drive and a goal and a dream for your future. i reakon ambition should be taught in school as it's a great thing to have in your life
  • Question:-What are some quotes on ambition leading to poor consquences?
I need quotes about ambition having negative affects or ambition for bad things just as ambition for pay back. Need for a Macbeth essay.

Answer:-“Ambition - The journey of a thousand miles sometimes ends very, very badly.” - Larry Kersten

“He may prove to be totally innocent, but this is a negative -- a big distraction -- for his presidential ambitions and management of the Senate.” - Ethan Siegal

“Keep away from those who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you believe that you too can become great.” - Mark Twain

“If you want to live a happy life, tie it to a goal, not to people or things.” - Albert Einstein

“It's a funny thing about life; if you refuse to accept anything but the best, you very often get it.” - William Somerset Maugham

“Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude.” - Thomas Jefferson

“Our ambition should be to rule ourselves, the true kingdom for each one of us; and true progress is to know more, and be more, and to do more.” - Oscar Wilde

“Ambition is like love, impatient both of delays and rivals.” - Buddha

“Nothing truly valuable arises from ambition or from a mere sense of duty; it stems rather from love and devotion towards men and towards objective things.” - Albert Einstein

“Great ambition is the passion of a great character. Those endowed with it may perform very good or very bad acts. All depends on the principals which direct them.” - Napoleon Bonaparte

“Ambition is the last refuge of failure.” - Oscar Wilde
  • Question:-“Ambition must be made to counteract ambition…”How do these words fit into the Constitutional frameworkthat wa?
Evaluate Madison’s words: “Ambition must be made to counteract ambition…”How do these words fit into the Constitutional frameworkthat was adopted? How well do these words reflect the needs of the 21st century?

Answer:-Ambition is viewed as a quality that can be both a positive and a negative, depending on the situation and other attributes the person possesses. In terms of the Constitution, it can be seen as a reference to the "checks and balances" system in place for congress and the President (majority votes, laws passing both houses, and veto power), to help stop unfair laws from being passed that clearly work to th favor of one group. Of course the issue that comes up is when one political party is in the White House and also control both the House and Senate. These days, more than ever, it seems that voters will blindly vote for their political party without being sure of what the vote is even for. I'm not sure if that answers your home work question, or not :)
  • Question:-What are some examples of how ambition can lead to corruption?
I have Macbeth, Bernie Madoff, and Joe Cassano. What are some other books or movies or people that display this theme of unchecked ambition leading to corruption and loss of morals?

Answer:-Several Republicans are good examples of ambition leading to corruption. Richard Nixon comes to mind as an example.
  • Question:-How does studying International law affect my Military career ambition?
I am planning on studying international law at one of my country's university because i couldn't get to study Military law that could have been the most suitable for my career ambition. Does studying International Law have any relevance to my Military career-ambition? I mean will it be relevant to any part of the Military especially the Army?

Answer:-There is some relevance but the law is quite different./
  • Question:-What the difference between pride and ambition?
I was reading something online and it said something was done out of pride rather than ambition? What's the difference?

Answer:-Pride is when you are proud of yourself for accomplishing something. Ambition is to have the drive and really want to accomplish something. If you do something out of pride rather than ambition it means you dont really care about doing something but you know you can and you are proud of it.
  • Question:-How do you strike a balance between ambition and comformity?
There are days when I ambition so much that I live bitterly, always thinking I do not have enough. Always jealous of people that are higher up.

Other times, I say enough is enough.. I live happy, without worries, being myself, but I fear that I'll stay in the same place my entire life without any advancement.

How do you find a balance?

    Thanks.

    Answer:-Learn to overcome your perfectionism.

  • Question:-Should two people have the same work ethics or level of ambition ?
Can a relationship work if two people have very different outlook on work and ambition ?

If one is carefree and the other is super ambitious and is very unhappy with that person's lassiez faire attitude. Will this cause problems ?

Answer:-I can tell you from personal experience the answer is yes. that was ultimately the reason we broke up. my current girlfriend is much more similar to me and I'm much happier with her
  • Question:-How does the theme of ambition surface in the text of Macbeth?
I'm writing a two page essay for English on how the theme of ambition surfaces in the text Macbeth, and I need quotes, and whatnot. I'm so confused, I just need help haha

Answer:-There's ambition in the sense that Macbeth wants to revenge his father by killing Claudius, and he wants to kill Laertes.
Contrarily, there is ambition from Laertes and Claudius to kill Macbeth.
  • Question:-What are the effects of having too much power and even more ambition?
I am doing a powerpoint presentation in which I am comparing Adolf Hitler and Lady Macbeth and both of them having too much power and even more ambition to come out on top. Also, what could be the purpose of my presentation? Please Help!

Answer:-Well I'm no scholar or anything. But power more often than not tends to corrupt a person as they become aware of the fact that they solely decide their circumstances, and the circumstances of others. Ambition can be good so long as it doesn't get too far out of hand. I remember a quote....and I actually think it's from The Simpsons', " One person may be able to change the world, but they probably shouldn't. " Basically meaning, why should one person get to decide the fate of others? I don't know much about Macbeth, but Hitlers' ambition caused him to impact the fate of millions, if not billions of people. The purpose of your presentation could be to show that the winners are the one's that write the history books, the losers are the villains, and because they lost, they have no say in the matter.

lumpectomy

  • Question:-Lumpectomy?
My girlfriend and I recently had a baby. She's exercising, loosing weight, and looks like a completely different person. She's looking great. But from her pass pregnancy she wasn't able to breastfeed because of complications with the child. So her milk ducts swelled up.Now she has small zagging bags underneath her armpits. We want to get rid of them. Someone told us what she needs done is a lumpectomy. Is this correct? Which is the correct procedure and how much is it? Wherein Chicago,IL can it be done the cheapest?

Answer:-Lumpectomy is the most common form of breast cancer surgery today. The surgeon removes only the part of your breast containing the tumor (the "lump") and some of the normal tissue that surrounds it.

    http://www.breastcancer.org/treatment/surgery/lumpectomy/

...as opposed to a mastectomy where they remove the entire breast.
Cost will depend on the Dr....it is a cosmetic procedure
  • Question:-How soon after a lumpectomy does chemotherapy start?
How soon after a lumpectomy should or does chemotherapy start?

Answer:-Most clinical trials start chemotherapy within 42-60 days; some older studies went out as far as 84 days. The importance of using a clinical trial as a standard measure is that the experts are the ones coming up with these criteria.

I typically start 3-4 weeks, depending on patient status and disease characteristics, but no problem waiting couple more weeks if needed. I personally don't like going beyond 6 weeks.

    God bless, best wishes
  • Question:-How uncomfortable was your first mammogram after your lumpectomy?
I had a lumpectomy(with sentinal node removal) over 7 months ago. I had to be drained several times at the breast incision site and the node site, during the first few weeks after surgery. I still have fluid and at times, a lot of discomfort at both sites. The thought of being compressed in less than a month is stressing me out.

    Answer:-Don't panic!

I have done hundreds of mammograms soon after surgery. We know you are in pain (but remind us, OK?). We will only compress enough to stop motion and (in the case of the side pic) to hold the breast up.

Most of my post op patients say it isn't as bad as they thought it would be.

    Good Luck! :)
  • Question:-I am having lumpectomy surgery and need advice?
I am having lumpectomy surgery on thursday and would like to hear tips, thoughts, or advice from those who have had this before or are familiar with the proceedures. Anything would help. Thanks.

Answer:- I have been thru a bunch of breast issues. First of all I recommend for you to take an ativan before the procedure. I took 2 before I went in and I wasn't so scared. You will be fine !! They have come a long way with breast cancer and all the procedures. Early detection is the key. It saved my life. If they want to do anything drastic ,then get a 2nd opinion. Good luck to you...
  • Question:-What is the normal recovery time for a lumpectomy?
I'm having a lumpectomy done tomorrow on my left boob. My question is, how long should I expect to be down? I have 4 young boys to take care of and am wondering how long I'll need help. Any insight on your personal recovery time and issues would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and Have a Great Day!

Answer:-I had a lumpectomy about three years ago. Afterwards my surgeon asked that I wait a week to drive and return to work (after having stitches removed), and a month or so before doing any lifting. I remember having a great deal of sensitivity in the area (still do at times) but never a lot of pain. I don't recall even taking pain meds, just over the counter stuff. My husband stayed with me a day or two because I have a harder than normal time recovering from anesthesia. If not for that I would have been fine staying alone the day after surgery.
  • Question:-If given the choice of biopsy or lumpectomy, which one would you choose?
I am 26. My doctor wants to do a lumpectomy. Mainly because my mom passed from breast cancer.
I already had an ultrasound done.

Answer:-I would choose a core biopsy for myself before a more invasive surgery (lumpectomy). If it is cancerous, there's plenty of time to go back in, either before or after chemo.

But the odds of any lump being cancer are low.
  • Question:-what does a call to go back to the surgeon mean after a lumpectomy?
My mom was just diagnosed with breast cancer. She had a lumpectomy and a lymph node drained on Monday. The said they will have results in 5 days. They called her today wanting to see her. She is so bummed, do you think they will make her wait that long for results?
Well when we get a pap smear, they call us to say its normal. We want to know if there is more cancer

Answer:-they can't tell her anything over the phone, due to laws regarding patient privacy... she needs to go see the doctor.
  • Question:-Should I get a tattoo on the wrist of my lumpectomy arm?
I am a 7yr breast cancer survivor. This year for my birthday I want to get a tattoo about the size of a nickel on my wrist of my lumpectomy arm. I know that I need to be careful with this arm and cant even get my blood pressure taken on it. But I really want it there. Is it to big of a risk? What do u'all think??

Answer:-Clearly, since you have been warned about taking care of that arm, you had lymph node removal and are at risk of lymphoedema.

You'll have been warned against having injections in that arm and warned to avoid any small injury such as burns, cuts, scratches and sunburn.

So you're well aware of the risks involved in getting a tattoo. It's your choice, and I'm not going to lecture you on it (well, I'll try not to, but once a schoolteacher...).

But I can tell you that lymphoedema is a lifetime risk, is currently irreversible (though manageable if it's mild) and - and this one's from experience - is no fun at all.

I developed lymphoedema over 2 years after breast cancer surgery and axillary node clearance. I don't know what particular injury or risk factor triggered it - I was unaware of whatever it was, which shows how easily it can be triggered. I just looked down one day to see that my affected arm and hand were noticeably larger than the other arm and hand. And so they've remained.

I've also had cellulitis on my lymphoedema arm, which can occur where the skin has previously been broken - including by needles. It was horrible, really revolting.

So - while obviously it's your choice, I'd simply urge that you bear the risks in mind.
  • Question:-I had breast cancer,in my left breast, treated with a lumpectomy and radiation and sent home.?
I was not given Tamoxifin or any preventative drug. 6 months later I got cancer ,a more aggressive cancer in my left breast. My doc acted shocked. I had a lumpectomy, radiation and chemo. Then I was given Femara. Did my doc follow procedures?

Answer:-Tamoxifen is only given for hormone-positive cancers. So your pathology report probably indicated hormone-receptor negative cancer.

If so, this is often considered a more aggressive cancer, and recurrence rates are somewhat higher. So it wouldn't be unheard of for you to get a recurrence.

Do you have a copy of the original pathology report? If not, ask your oncologist for a copy. That would be an important clue.

It sounds as if Femara is given for hormone positive cancers. So if the current incident is hormone-positive, it is either a) a new cancer, or b) someone messed up on your original pathology or treatment plan.
  • Question:-what is the recovery period for having a lumpectomy?
How much time have people taken off from work after having a breast lumpectomy?

Answer:-I lost two days from work...the day I had the lumpectomy and the day after (because I wasn't allowed to drive for 24 hours due to anesthesia).

This will vary from person to person and surgeon to surgeon though. You will have to ask your surgeon how long he wants you to be off work. My surgeon would have given me more time but I always bounce back very quickly.

endometriosis

  • Question:-Endometriosis?
I have asked a few questions already concerneing endometriosis. I am currently on Neproxin for pain. I was wondering if anyone knew of good pain relieve. I am interested in any thoughts. Also if there are herbal remedies that help?

Answer:-I have suffered with endo for years. I have found no pain reliever to eleviate the pain. I also tried acupunture which didn't help. Motrin can help a little but not enough. If your pain is that severe, then consider the surgery. I had the surgery but I only had one month of relief before it came back. After I have my baby, I plan on having both of my ovaries removed to help with the pain as my doctor recommends. Good Luck with your pain management.
  • Question:-endometriosis?
I was wondering if anyone can tell me their experience with endometriosis. Did it make it difficult for you or someone you know to get pregnant? How long did it take before you were able to conceive? Did you have problems with miscarriages?

Answer:-sorry you're going through this....in terms of how long it takes you to conceive, it'll depend on many factors such as your age and how long you've been diagnosed with....if you talk to an RE (fertility specialist) they'll be able to better guide you through this process. You can read more about endometriosis and conceiving and also ask an RE online and give them your specific case to get their take, try the website below as the source.
best of louck to you !
  • Question:-Can endometriosis cause shooting pain from the left side of the belly button down to the vagina?
My wife has a history of ovarian cysts and endometriosis. Can either of these conditions cause a shooting pain from the side of the belly button, down the vaginal canal?

    Answer:-
  • Question:-What causes endometriosis to develop into cancer?
My mom had endometriosis badly resulting in 8 years of infertility, but it didn't turn cancerous.
My aunt had endometriosis badly and it did turn cancerous.

I am concerned that I may have endometriosis but I am only 24. What are the odds endo can turn cancerous and how soon should I be concerned about this?

Thanks to anyone with any knowledge of the subject.
Tasha, thanks for the info. Is there any way I can contact you with further questions?

Answer:-Hi Leah. Sorry to read about your aunt and your mum. I hope they are doing better now.
I am a nurse and a fellow, longtime sufferer of endometriosis. Many things contribute to whether or not someone gets cancer, this could include (but isn't limited to): genetics, smoking/alcohol/drug consumption, amount of exposure to sunlight, dietary habits, etc (the list is long). Cancers and tumours that spread have certain characteristics as well. For example a tumour/s has an excellent blood supply, which it can create itself. Cancerous cells can easily break off and travel through the blood stream or lymphatic system. Some cancers run in families and occur in the same places (I once knew a nurse who said most of her family had suffered from lip melanomas or had died from them). Tumours can also grow extremely fast, others are slow growing. There is no rule of thumb saying someone will/will not get cancer, although some people have more risk factors, ie: smoking cigarettes for 30 years will put you at more risk for lung diseases/disorders and lung cancer.
If endometriosis is controlled, it probably will not evolve into cancer. However if left unchecked, the cells migrate to other parts of the body and could evolve into cancer (endometrial cells are highly migratory). I even read of a case in a nursing journal where a woman had bleeding from her ear every month, and it turned out she had endometrial cells in her ear which were bleeding when she menstruated!
The percentage of getting endometrial cancer from having endometriosis is anywhere from 40 - 70%. But nobody can give you absolute statistical numbers - they would probably frighten you anyway. For instance, just because you have endometriosis doesn't mean you WILL get endometrial cancer. Nobody can say if someone will or will not get cancer. Some people seem more predisposed to cancers than others, even when they lead a healthy lifestyle and have no or minimal risk factors (for reasons still largely unknown).
Getting cancer also depends upon your lifestyle. Your best bet is to control heavy bleeding (oral contraceptives can do this), eat healthy, don't smoke, cut down (or cut out) caffeine, limit alcohol, etc (you know the drill). Also control stress, like do yoga, pilates, exercise 3 x a week and don't get overly upset about things.
Worrying about whether or not you get cancer is fruitless. If you do get it, you can deal with it then. BUT MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL: have regular pap smears - and for all you so called 'medical' buffs out there with no health degree - no, pap smears DO NOT detect endometrial cancer, but changes in the cell/tissue structure (this is one way to catch abnormalities or cancer/s early). Only laparoscopies and a biopsy/ies can detect endometrial cells or cancer. For any severe abdominal pain, unexplained, persistent bleeding, abnormal/unusual bloating, persistent nausea and/or vomiting, referred back or flank pain (any symptom or any pain unusual for you, or which you are worried about), see a Dr ASAP or attend your nearest emergency department immediately. Also most cancers have excellent treatment nowadays, so don't worry too much. Get out there and enjoy life as you are only 24!
    Good luck.
  • Question:-What is the connection between endometriosis and hair loss?
Is there a possible connection between endometriosis and hair loss? What's the solution to these problems? The doctor prescribed birth control pills, but it made me feel depressed. Now what?

Answer:-As far as I know there is no link between endo and hair loss, except that both involve hormones and hormone problems, albeit different kinds of hormones. I'm definitely not an expert, though.
Have you looked into or heard of PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome)? That DOES cause hair loss. See http://www.pcosupport.org/medical/whatis.php
If you've been diagnosed with endo I highly recommend doing a ton of research to learn as much about it as you can. The Endometriosis Association, at http://www.endometriosisassn.org/, is an excellent place to start.
  • Question:-What can I do to limit endometriosis damage and get pregnant?
I have had endometriosis pretty bad since high school and even had an ovary removed. My husband and I are trying to concieve, but have little information about how to increase our odds. We went through 3 rounds of fertility treatment and had no luck with the drugs/iui combo. Any similar cases out there? Any suggestions? Any hope?

Answer:-I was diagnosed with stage II of endometriosis a year after I graduated high school. My hubby and I are in the same boat as you guys, however, it has only been 3 months since my laparoscopy/D&C. So they won't be able to offer me any fertility treatments or drugs until after we have been trying for a year. My obgyn recommended that if we are serious about TTC, then to have intercourse every other day during ovulation. Also, taking prenatal vitamins ahead of time will further prepare your body for a pregnancy. Try cutting out or lowering your daily intake of caffeine, and eating healthier; this will increase your chances significantly, as opposed to eating junk food and drinking sodas all the time. Staying healthy when TTC is very important. I wish I had more information to give, as I am somewhat in the same situation as you. But since I have had no luck so far myself, it's hard to say which methods work the best. I didn't know of anyone else who has endometriosis as well, until I read your post. It definitely comes as somewhat of a relief to know that you are not alone, and that somewhere out there there are other women going through the same struggles.
I wish you the best of luck, and if for some reason I should figure the solution out soon, I will let you know; or vice versa lol.
    Good luck & God Bless!
  • Question:-What are options for treatment of endometriosis other than birth control or surgery?
I have already been on birth control for 9 years, and I can't afford a laparoscopy because I have crappy insurance. Are there any other treatment methods for endometriosis?

Answer:-This is an option I am considering for myself, and most insurances are covering it since it's non-invasive and non-surgical.

  • Question:-How long after a laparoscopy for endometriosis did you wait to have sex?
Friday was three weeks since my lap. I had severe endometriosis that was removed and a chocolate cyst on my ovary. My doctor is closed today and I am super anxious to wait until monday. How long did you wait to have sex. Think I would be okay?

    Answer:-Hey,

I have severe endometriosis, ive had 13 operations in the past 12 months including my bladder being reconstructed because of endo. It is such a horrid illness my heart goes out to you. Ive not worked now for over a year as I have scale 10 endo which is the highest end of the scale. I have had many many Laps and had sex I think it was about 2 weeks after but you have to be so so careful (dont go at it like a nutter) I think making love instead of sex as with a lap they go inside which im sure your well aware of. Its a good job really that they do it that way otherwise you would not be asking that question believe me lol. Ive have the doctors open me up that way to drain a abscess from surgery.

If you want to ask any more questions about endo please email me if you want to or even if your having a bad day drop me a mail I know what your going through. Im trying at the moment to start a support group from home through the charity shetrust great site for Enod problems. The chairman Mr C H Mann is my consultant (amazing man) my wizard.

  • Question:-How long can a woman have endometriosis before she gets diagnosed?
Is it possible for a woman to have endometriosis for a number of years before having it diagnosed? If so, will that interfer with child birth ( premature birth and miscarriages) and does it cause discharge and excessive clotting while having your cycle?

Answer:-Not only is it possible, it's the standard for women and girls with the disease, unfortunately. The average overall delay in diagnosis is a staggering NINE years, throughout the course of seeing FIVE different doctors before someone takes her pain seriously. It's a tragedy the way this disease is minimized and ignored overall. Undiagnosed/untreated Endo is a leading cause of female infertility and if left alone, can definitely cause the inability to conceive and/or miscarry. It's important to get early and EFFECTIVE treatment, early on...most women with Endo have pelvic pain and other signs of Endo during their teen years, but this often goes unaddressed. With proper treatment (see www.centerforendo.com for superior care), resolve of infertility and long-term symptom relief is totally possible. There are no long-terms studies addressing premature birth and Endo, but the ERC (www.endocenter.org) has anecdotal data showing complicated pregancies in a high number of their members with Endo. The discharge and clotting may be due in part to Endo but sounds more like adenomyosis, which is Endometriosis of the muscular lining of the uterus (myometrium). It is very common in women with pelvic and abdominal Endo. Good luck to you and remember you're not alone - help is out there. Check the sites I gave you.
  • Question:-What are the diferences between dysmenorrhea and endometriosis?
how can i defferentiate the symptoms of these illness? my mom use to have dysmenorrhea then when she got old, she now has endometriosis. Am I capable of having one too cuz its starting to freak me out! like, how do i know if i have one w/o even going to the doctor and have it checked?

Answer:-Dysmenorrhea is a menstrual condition characterized by severe and frequent menstrual cramps and pain associated with menstruation. The following are the most common symptoms ofdysmenorrhea. However, each adolescent may experience symptoms differently. Symptoms may include:

    cramping in the lower abdomen
    pain in the lower abdomen
    low back pain
    pain radiating down the legs
    nausea
    vomiting
    diarrhea
    fatigue
    weakness
    fainting
    headaches
The symptoms of dysmenorrhea may resemble other conditions or medical problems. Always consult your physician for a diagnosis.

Endometriosis is a condition where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus (the endometrial stroma and glands, which should only be located inside the uterus) is found elsewhere in the body.

Endometriosis lesions can be found anywhere in the pelvic cavity: on the ovaries, the fallopian tubes, and on the pelvic sidewall. Other common sites include the uterosacral ligaments, the cul-de-sac, the Pouch of Douglas, and in the rectal-vaginal septum.

The most common symptom of endometriosis is pelvic pain. The pain often correlates to the menstrual cycle, but a woman with endometriosis may also experience pain that doesn’t correlate to her cycle. For many women, the pain of endometriosis is so severe and debilitating that it impacts their lives in significant ways.
