snow white and the huntsman

  • Question:-What is the song used in the trailer for Snow White and the Huntsman?
The song used in this video :
    http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/movies/news/a350143/kristen-stewarts-snow-white-and-the-huntsman-teaser-trailer-video.html

    Thanks in advance :)

    Answer:-Riptide Music - World Collapsing
  • Question:-what is Snow White and The Huntsman rated?
Saw the news report on yahoo home page and can't find anything about what it is rated. Any ideas?

Answer:-This film will be very dark and most likely receive a PG-13

    From IMDB

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1735898/parentalguide
  • Question:-Kristen Stewart has confirmed she playing snow white in "Snow White and the Huntsman";Will you see it?
Do you think she will make a good snow white? if not, who do you think should play snow white?

Answer:-YES. I know everyones like "UGH SHE CAN'T ACT. SHE'S TWITCHY. SHE'S ON DRUGS" but they're basing it on her in interviews - and i'll be honest if i had to do an interview i would be worse- and twilight, which isnt the best thing to show her acting talent.

If anyone has seen any other films of hers they will understand that she isnt that bad. Sure she isnt the best but give her a chance.. I think she'll be a good Snow white, i've just doanladed the script and read a bit and this snow white is kick ass so kristen will probably be alright with this role

    sorry for the slight rant
  • Question:-Can someone explain the snow white fairytale to me?
I was just reading that there will be two remakes of snow white released in 2012. The one with kristen stewart is 'snow white and the huntsman' the other, with lily collins is 'The brothers grimm: snow white'

What's the difference? I don't know what these two stories are about, as a kid I only remember one version and thats snow white and the seven dwarfs

Answer:-i think they're trying to make it a bit of suspense or psychological. like Red Riding Hood by Amanda Seyfried...
  • Question:-doesn't this movie look worth watching? its snow white and the huntsman?
    http://www.snowwhiteandthehuntsmanmovie.com/?__source=ggl|snow+white+and+the+huntsman+pics|Brand|G_SnowWhite&sky=ggl|snow+white+and+the+huntsman+pics|Brand|G_SnowWhite#/about

just hopefully, kristen's acting will be better than twilight

Answer:-Yes it does, i am so excited to watch this amazing upcoming flick, after all it is based on fairy tales..
  • Question:-Which Snow White movie are you looking forward for next year?????
so there are two Snow White Movies coming out next year, one of them Kristin Stewart will be snow white, in the Snow white and the Huntsman, and the other is Lily Collins as Snow White this one is called The Brother's Grimm: Snow White.

both will come out in mid 2012.
so which Version are you looking forward to?
Kristin Stewarts version will be darker, but i hate her acting, she's boring in every movie, and the movie poster looks like more of Tim Burton's Alic In Wonderland!...

as for Lily Collin's version, hers look more fairy tale looking, and she is a very beautiful and good actress!

    so which one and why?

Answer:-The Lily Colin's version, or as I like to call it Tarsem's Snow White. Mainly because his last movie The Fall blew me away and is one of the best films I have seen in the last few years.
  • Question:-How do you feel about all these upcoming Snow White/Grimm themed shows and movies?
This late October, there will be 2 new shows based on Snow White and the Brother's Grimm's fairy tales:

    - Once Upon a Time (ABC)
    - Grimm (NBC)

Then next year there will be two films about Snow White:

    - The Brother's Grimm: Snow White (starring Lily Collins and Julia Roberts)
    - Snow White and the Huntsman (Starring Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth)

...There's also gonna be a Beauty and the Beast movie with Emma Watson, but that fairy tale was originally French. How do you feel about all these "coincidental" similarities? Do you think these shows/movies will be good?

I'm actually quite excited about all of this, but at the same time I'm kind of worried they might suck. I love Snow White (both the Disney movie and the original fairy tale) so it's good she's getting recognition, but is this too much Snow White? They're all coming out in the next 9 months with both shows premiering this month....

Answer:-Yes, I'm waiting and dreading them too. On the other hand, if they're making movies out of them instead of cartoons, we can at least hope they're going after an adult audience, which of course was the original fairy tale audience. Let's hope they put some blood back in - enough with the rabbits doing laundry!

The fact that they're all coming out together is normal - this stuff is decided by corporations, and as soon as something works and makes money, they produce 50 of the same. Look at all the vampires we have - as long as they sell, we'll have more.
  • Question:-Please help me with my version of Snow White?
Ok, so I am on a site called Quizilla and I am making my version of Snow White on there. So far, Snow was standing in a field and the huntsman came. He told her he has to kill her and he tells her why. That's all I have so far. Please just give me some ideas!

Answer:-Bill and Ted drop from the sky in the time travelling phone booth......
  • Question:-Is there a difference between these two snow whites?
Okay so as some of you have heard they are making a new snow white movie but it's called snow white and the huntsman but i thought it was called snow white and the seven dwarves what is the difference between the two stories and how do they tie in together I'm confused -___-

Answer:-I heard that the one with the seven dwarves is just a revamping of the classic tale. The one with the hunstman I heard is supposed to be about snow white and her unknow connection to the huntsmen and the witch is supposed to play a bigger role (more screen time). Also its supposed to be a darker portrayal, just like how Red Riding Hood was of the original tale. Not sure if what I say is completely correct or not, but it's what I've heard.
  • Question:-Whats the name of the animated Snow White, where the dwarves are named after days of the week?
In this one the huntsman die trying to kill her and her friend

    Answer:-Snow White (2001 TV movie)
starring Miranda Richardson, Kristin Kreuk, Tom Irwin, Clancy Brown, Vera Farmiga, Tyron Leitso, Vincent Schiavelli, Warwick Davis
    IMDb synopsis:
Born from a drop of blood in a flutter of apple blossoms, and framed in ebony, a young girl named Snow White becomes the blessing of a loving peasant couple, John and Josephine. But with her birth comes a curse and the end of her mother's life. Left alone with an infant daughter, John braves a brutal winter in search of food for his starving angel. Salvation comes unexpectedly when the father's tears melt the frozen tomb of a bewitched creature, the Green-Eyed One. In thanks, the insinuating beast grants John three wishes: nourishment for Snow White, a kingdom in which to raise his family and a queen by his side. But John's cause for celebration is short-lived, for the Green-Eyed One has devious plans for the well-being of his own family. Owing his loathsome spellcasting daughter, Elspeth, a long-awaited wish, he encourages her desires for appointment to the throne. A kingdom to rule is hers for the waiting, the new King John is hers for the belittling, and a little stepdaughter named Snow White is hers to toy with and destroy at will. The castle awaits. A looking glass is calling. And a fairytale like no other begins. // The dwarves are named for the days of the week, as you describe.

YouTube has the complete film. Here's Part 1:

It has subtitles in a foreign language, which is a tad distracting.

rumpelstiltskin

  • Question:-Rumpelstiltskin?
If you remember the story quite well, then hopefully you can answer this question that I seem to have trouble with... The question asks,

"In 'Rumpelstiltskin' the braking of his power over the girl is broken if she can guess his name. Why do you think guessing or knowing someone's name means he no longer has power over the other person?"

I do not know why, I just do not seem to know what it is saying, and how I should answer it. Please help a.s.a.p! Thanks!

Answer:-Because she knows his name, it means that she can call him by it. He doesnt have anymore power over her then she has over him.
If you didnt know a persons name, it would be hard to make them do things. It would be much harder for them to see things through your eyes.

When you know there name, you know more about them.
He wanted her to remember him by name, which the name means everything.
  • Question:-rumpelstiltskin ?????????????

    Answer:-
  • Question:-Where can I find the original Rumpelstiltskin online?
Does anyone have any idea where I could find the original story of Rumpelstiltskin? (hopefully I spelled that right) I hear it's a couple pages long?

Answer:-I'm pretty sure Rumpelstiltskin was a folk tale that was passed on from person-to-person long before it was ever written down. The "original" probably never even made it to print.

However, the closest your probably going to get to the definitive version of the story is in "Grimms' Fairy Tales". The tales were originally written in German, and there are a bunch of different English translations - but fortunately, the book is out of copyright, so it is also in public domain and all over the Internet:

Here's a direct link to an 1884 translation:
    http://www.ucs.mun.ca/~wbarker/fairies/grimm/055.html

And here's a page that has the German and English versions side-by-side:
    http://www.fln.vcu.edu/grimm/rumpel_dual.html

    Hope that helps
  • Question:-What creature is Rumpelstiltskin supposed to be?
Is Rumpelstiltskin based on a mythical creature'? And if so what?

Answer:-i think he was based on the hobgoblins, simply because he was crafty, ill mannered, and took things that would cause a certain amount of loss, pain, or grief to the people who needed his services,
  • Question:-Why does Rumpelstiltskin look different in Shrek the Third than in Shrek Forever After?
I just seemed to notice that. Did anybody else notice this too?

    Answer:-I noticed straight away.
The old one blended in too much with all the other bad guys. They needed him to stand out.
  • Question:-What is a good fractured fairy tale idea for Rumpelstiltskin?
Also, if you could have a title that goes with it, that would be great.

    Answer:-Surrogate motherhood
when Rumpelstiltskin comes to get the baby, she can't remember his name so she follows him, and ends up falling in love with him and they live happily ever after, I always felt bad for that guy in the story.
You could call it "Promises aren't made to be broken"
  • Question:-i need a clever title for my essay pertaining to economics in Rumpelstiltskin?
the essay pertains to the economics in the fairy tale rumpelstiltskin.
i want it to have pizazz!

    thanks in advance.
    :)

Answer:-What about using the brand name of one of these cigar since a cigar-band pinkie ring was mentioned in the story:

  • Question:-Any one seen a weird version of Rumpelstiltskin?
Ok so I saw this movie about 8 years ago it was based very closely on the Original Fairy Tale of Rumpelstiltskin I don't know when it was made, probably 80's or 90's. It wasn't a musical or horror movie, it was set in the deep past. I have googled this extensively so the only thing I can think is that it was made under a different title than Rumpelstiltskin, any help is appreciated.

Answer:-I've seen that one too, I loved it when I was younger.
    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0093891/
  • Question:-Why did Rumpelstiltskin want the baby?
I'm writing a story about what happened after Rumpelstiltskin sent himself down into the ground and I wanted to know why did he want the baby? In my story he comes back and takes the child. However, she runs away into the forest and bumps her head on something. She loses her memory and can't remember anything before that. Now she's 16 and living in an orphanage owned by "the little old lady that lived in a shoe." I want Rumpelstiltskin to come back for her, but don't know any good reason why he would want her.

    Any suggestions?

Answer:-In the fairy tale he wants the child only because he knows it's the most important thing the Queen has. It's kind of a revenge thing. Also, there's an old superstition which says goblins used to snatch human babies and change them for their own, which is where we get the word "changeling" used to describe a weird kid.
I don't know what the goblins did with the kids they took. The superstition was used to warn people about leaving their babies unattended.
  • Question:-How did the Grimm Brothers come up with the name: Rumpelstiltskin?
Are the Grimm Brothers the ones that made Rumpelstiltskin? Why did they name him that? What is the moral of the story? Is there a moral? Please help!!
P.S. I am just curious about this, because I was just watching that Shrek Forever After, or whatever it's called! Haha! :D

Answer:-The Grimm Brothers Traveled and gathered folklore from around the world, all the stories in those huge books are not theirs, rather people's interpretations and versions of stories their own ancestors have passed on ;)

grimm fairy tales

  • Question:-What is the best version of the ORIGINAL Brothers Grimm fairy tales?
I've found many versions of the Brothers Grimm fairy tales, but really want the original. I love books, but like the original versions not censored or exagerated versions. Don't worry, I do not intend to buy the book for a child. I intend to read them myself. Does anyone know what publisher/translator has the most true to original version of the Brothers Grimm fairy tales?

Answer:-The Brothers Grimm fairy tales were changed to protect children. If you the want the original book, it is "Grimm's Grimmest". The quote on the back of the book reads, "Grimm's Grimmest presents the original, unsanitized, unholy tales as they were first collected by the Brothers Grimm."
  • Question:-Which of Brothers' Grimm fairy tales is considered the darkest and least meant for children?
I need to choose a story to animate for my final project and I know I want to use one of Brothers' Grimm fairy tales. With few exceptions, like Simpsons or Futoram, animation is still largely considered to be for children and I want to address older audience. So I am looking for an interesting, but dark and "not for kids" story.

Answer:-Gingerbread Man--where the witch cooks the little kids
Little Red Riding Hood (was that the name?) one with the wolf
    Rumplestiltzen--one where guy fell asleep
  • Question:-What Grimm Fairy Tales should be made into movies?
Title says it all. I'm just curious to what you guys would think would be a good film adaption of one of the dark Grimm Brother's fairy tales.
Like they are making a Red Riding Hood movie, so that's just what made me think this up.

    No sarcastic answers please.

Answer:-Technically, a bunch were made into movies, but they were Disney-fied. The thing is, the Grimm Fairy Tales are kind of gruesome as they are. Someone like Tim Burton could do a really good job of them and actually have them closer to the actual story than Disney, but everyone would make a huge fuss over how unlike Disney they are and all that crap.

Rant aside, I always loved "Snow White and Rose Red."
  • Question:-Are the antagonist in some of Grimm Fairy Tales Jews?
I heard online that some of the evil villains in the Grimm Fairy Tales are Jewish, is this true? Could you provide evidence to back it up?

Answer:-I haven't heard this about Grimm, but that doesn't mean anything one way or another.

It was true for Shakespeare, Dickens, Chaucer.
  • Question:-Zenescope Escape from Wonderland & Grimm Fairy Tales Question?
I really love the work, and I wanted to get the comics but I don't know where to get them and I was wondering if both Escape from Wonderland and Grimm Fairy tales are in a series or in an order? And where can I get them in on the net or in New Zealand because I can't find them anywhere!

Answer:-You can buy, find, and order anything on the Internet, Legendary! All you have to do is perform a Google or Yahoo! search.
Also visit your local comic book shop.
  • Question:-Should I make Brothers Grimm Fairy Tales my new religion then quote from the book whenever I make an argument?
If my definition of morality lives within the parameters of the book I can never lose an argument. At least in my mind.

Answer:-LOL, right!!! Life is what YOU make it and like myself I love dreams and dreams coming true and I am spiritual. I might seem nutty to others but I love the moon and earth and everything in- between. I say walk in the woods talk to the trees and plants and animals. Seen Avatar? There is a BIG truth in that movie.

Live life, it is worth living, live with your heart....
    Positive People, Positive Results....

  • Question:-Where to find all 210 grimm fairy tales unedited?
I have found books containing the stories but there not the full versions of the books there shorter versions. I want to read all of the stories in the original state not edited. (in English of course.)
thanks everyone I found it on www.gutenberg.org so thanks.

Answer:-I took a class in college that required a text of Grimm fairy tales. It's a pretty good book. It contains all 250 tales published by Jacob and Wilheim Grimm, plus 29 tales omitted by the German publishers, as well as stores from the brothers' letters and notes. It's a pretty complete volume.

It's called "The Complete Fairy Tales of The Brothers Grimm"

You can see the cover here:

    http://www.amazon.com/Complete-Fairy-Brothers-Bantam-Paperback/dp/0553371010

You should be able to find in any book store. Or you could just order it online.

    I hope that helps.

Be sure to get the most recent edition to get the latest translations and updates.

What are the differences between the original Grimm Tale of Snow White and the Disney Retelling: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs? I am Writing a critical essay for a class and I would like to make sure that I have discussed all the differences and similarities and have not left out any details. Please include any of the differences and similarities that you notice. Thanks in Advance.

Answer:-well i know that walt disney was the first person to give names to the seven dwarfs. and in the original the queen uses a corset and comb before the apple to put snow white into a comatose state. the prince doesn't have to kiss snow white to bring her back to life again. and at their wedding the old queen is invited and made to dance in shoes of iron which were made red hot by a stove. she danced till she dropped dead. you should read the original and compare them for yourself. here, follow this link:

I've being a personal believer in the Grimm doctrine ever since my Dad taught it to me and his Dad before him and so on and I'm wondering if I should do the same for my children?

    Grimm Bless!

Answer:-Of course. The Grimm Brothers gathered ancient "true" tales from the people and wrote them down after all.
  • Question:-Where could I find a picture of the Jabberwocky from the sisters grimm series?
I need a picture of the Jabberwocky from the Sisters Grimm book series, but not the one on the cover. There is one in the book at the very end, but I cant seem to find it online. Its not on the website, wikipedia, or google that I have found yet. Can anyone tell me where to find it?

Answer:-What an interesting question. Maybe you will just have to scan it with a scanner.
  • Question:-What are some spells to control someone because I want to control the Grimm Reaper?
It seems interesting because I have a family that has been doing some bad things in life and who died and I am going to make the Grimm Reaper go and take that person to Heaven. And I want to know what will happen if the curse breaks will the Grimm Reaper come for me next. Or will he not do anything.

Answer:-He won't do anything to you. You can say prayers for those who you think might be in "hell". You can command the devil to leave your loved one alone, and he must leave them alone. One thing you must remember is that every person makes choices every day. Whether or not those choices are good is all up to that person. There is nothing you can do as far as where they will end up. As long as you do what is right, always stand up for what is right, and don't be afraid to say no when you are under pressure from your peers; you will not have to worry. There will always be a place for you in heaven.

"Get thee behind me Satan." This means he has to go away and leave you alone.
  • Question:-Who sings Lullaby and Goodnight on the Grimm Reaper Cigarette ad?
There's a female that sings the song. Its a Tobacco Free CA ad. The Grimm reaper takes of his cloak to become a female giving out free cigarette samples. The song is stuck in my head and I wanted to know who sings that version of it.

    Answer:-"Lullaby" -HoneyHoney
The two honeys are supossed to be together and you wont find the right singer if you don't leave them together
  • Question:-What is the meaning behind the story snow white by the brothers grimm?
what does the story snow white by the grimm brothers mean?

Answer:-It connects on a number of levels to the legends of the golden bough, as laid iout by James Frazer. While it does not contain the classic slaying of the king and his rebirth, it does contain the classic sympathetic magic of sex to make the land fruitful. Many scholars agree that the "kiss" version is basically a later white wash of the original, wakes her up with sex version. Snow White represents the winter land, slumbering, dormant, then the prince/king figure shows up , throws her one, and spring happens, the crops ripen, the land comes alive again etc... Typical agricultural myth of the seasons and the new season.
  • Question:-Where might I find linguistic information on the Brothers Grimm?
I'm finding loads of information on the Grimm brothers' contribution to the literary world, but what I need to find is information on their contribution to the German Language and linguistic studies.

Please do NOT simply provide a site with bits and pieces of their linguistic work; there's a 99% chance I've already read it.

If you know if a book or a website that goes into detail about their work, I would greatly appreciate your help.

    Thank you in advance.

  • Question:-Is it acceptable to teach my children the literal truth of the Brothers Grimm stories?
