- Question:-Toyota Recall...................................?
Is the US government and media making the recall bigger than it actually is?
Is the US government and media making the recall bigger than it actually is?
Oh yeah... the toyota hilux has never been banned and was shown on programs such as Top Gear and praised for their reliability. Many hilux's have more than 300,000 miles and are called the indestructable truck.
Answer:-EMILY GO DO YOUR HOMEWORK BEFORE ANSWERING ANY QUESTIONS.....YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT.....YOU HAVE NO SOURCE TO SUPPORT YOUR ANSWER...
NOW for the Toyota recall..........
Stop Abusing Toyota just because of a huge recall....gas pedals wear out if you constantly floor your car when you don't really need to.....temperature and humidity can also affect it.
I understand that everyone would agree that Toyota did hide this problem and everyone would obviously accept that American cars are better.
The fact of the matter is that all car companies have to go through recalls. Toyota & Honda are definitely being attacked by the government especially LaHood. He's constantly making a big deal about this...
First he says to stop driving toyota's (even Obama agreed)
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2010/02/0…
Then He later apologies for his idiotic words....
http://www.azcentral.com/business/articl…
I do understand that Toyota has included more than a million vehicles in this recall. Honda's wasn't even that severe....one incident triggered the whole situation & guess who made a public announcement.....YES LAHOOD.
http://www.koco.com/news/22537819/detail…
So Tell Me American Car Lovers.....
Why didn't the government announce the GM recall... (more than 1.5 million vehicles)
http://www.usrecallnews.com/2009/04/nhts…
Chevy recall.... (905,000 vehicles)
http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2010/…
And yours truly Ford.... (more than 80,000 vehicles)
http://www.consumeraffairs.com/recalls04…
Toyota has made over 175 recalls within the year of 2000
Ford over 250+ (not too bad, very impressing, seems I can trust them)
Chevy over 700+
GM over 1000+
And you still love American Cars????
If Government did decide to make this public.............They're FINISHED. They have no money to make a recall.....sure they can do minor but major such as TOyota....they're gone.
Lahood and the transportation department are deliberately keeping this quiet just for the sake of keeping American car companies alive as well as aiding the economy. Oh sure the economy is going up as American car companies gain profit.....wait till Toyota starts firing people...UNEMPLOYMENT IS OFF THE CHART!
Toyota has employed hundreds of people, imagine them without jobs if Toyota left US. If they left we would be in an instant recession.
In some cases GM, Ford, Chevy needs Toyota for competition. It is because of Toyota Honda and Nissan GM, Ford and Chevy stand this good today....otherwise they would still use same old parts from 1990's.
Doesn't matter if Toyota made such a huge recall.....The downfall is that pretty soon Toyota will start firing workers and unemployment rates will increase. Look at the bright side....They will lose money and the CEO will have to invest into more safer technologies to make their vehicles better....
last time I checked GM begged the government for money, they showed up in their hybrid cars to prove them that they can improve.....lets see. Because of their irresponsibility I am losing my money as taxpayer. Why should I pay for their failures when I should worry about my savings, sending kids to college, keeping a roof over my family and feeding them.
This is all a media hype by the government to convince people to buy American cars....even if you have a Toyota just take it to the dealer and have your pedals fixed...it will only take 2 hours rather than you wasting more than $18,000 on a new car....Plus Toyota dealers are seriously listening to any complaints about their vehicles from numerous customers and providing quick and fast solution.
Every American car lover is being a bit too harsh on Toyota & Japanese cars....For your information....we need Toyota for Competition....Ford, Chevy GM watched how they rose to the top and now they're doing the same.
Japanese cars are good, American Cars are good, all cars are good....mainly its human error which can end lives not cars. - Question:-Will the Toyota recall effect the price of Camrys bought at the car auction?
Im in the market for a new car and I have a friend looking at the Detroit Auto Auction for 2008 Toyota Camry. But with this huge recall Toyota has what will happen to the prices? Will they go down because of it or will they increase? And will I even be able to buy a Camry at the auction because Toyota stopped the sale of them from all dealers? Thanks!
Answer:-As a car dealer I can tell you as of an hour ago, MMR (auction) has pulled them from the auction lists - Question:-Can I break my lease with toyota since my truck is included in the toyota recall?
I have a toyota tundra, the 2007 - 2010 model is listed in the recall. I have the truck leased and I really want to end the lease and get rid of it. Is it possible for me to take the truck back, claim that I've had the problem and then demand the lease to be broken?
Answer:-No you can't break the lease but you might have a small claims court action for lack of use.
reasoning: truck is unsafe, you feel unsafe driving it, you call dealer and he tells you it will take two weeks or so to get appointment to fix it. You have now lost two weeks of use on your truck. That is what you can sue for - Question:-Has the Toyota recall campaign by government failed?
Every other car I see on the road is Toyota. The government tried very hard to smear Toyota as a failed car. Now even the Toyota website doesn't mention anything about recall. The recall story just faded away as soon as Toyota paid $16 million fine. So was the campaign done only to get $16 million? Isn't that suspicious?
Answer:-the recall campaign failed miserably. Toyota is back to making huge profits and just announced $1.2 billion profit in the latest quarter. They continue making revenue at the pace of $205 billion an year, making it at one of the top 10 largest revenue corporations in the world. I personally think it was all about the $16 million fine. The fine was paid and the story faded away - Question:-Was their a toyota recall on a 2000 tundra?
I have a 2000 toyota tundra with the 4.7L V8, was their ever a recall on it, and if their was how would i go about doing that?
Answer:-Toyota Expands Tundra Recall
Published Mar 10, 2010
* Toyota expands a recall of the 2000-'03 Tundra to cover all trucks in the U.S.
* The recall is to fix a corrosion problem with the Tundra's frame.
* Initially, only 20 cold-weather states were included in the recall.
DETROIT — Toyota is expanding a recall of the 2000-'03 Tundra to cover all vehicles in the U.S., the automaker said on Wednesday. The recall is to fix part of the truck's frame that could corrode.
Excessive corrosion of the rear crossmember could cause spare tires or the gas tank to drop off the vehicle. The original recall was announced last November and covered 110,000 trucks sold in 20 cold-weather states. Toyota initially said exposure to road salt could cause the corrosion.
"Now a special service campaign will be launched covering all 2000-'03 model-year Tundra vehicles that were originally sold in and currently registered in the remaining 30 states," wrote Curt McAllister, a Toyota spokesman, in an e-mailed message to Inside Line. "Owner notification will commence in mid-March."
McAllister was not able to say how many more Tundras will be added to the original recall in this case.
Word of the expanded Toyota recall comes during a hectic week for Toyota as it struggles to cope with the fallout from massive recalls of its vehicles and the ensuing blow to its reputation.
In its original description of the Tundra corrosion recall, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said that "excessive corrosion of the rear crossmember may cause the separation of the spare tire stowed under the truck bed, which would present a road hazard that could cause a crash. Also, corrosion of the rear crossmember could affect the rear brake lines and the proportioning valve, resulting in diminished braking capability."
As of November 16, 2009, Toyota was advising owners of the affected Tundras to remove the spare tire from under the vehicle "until a remedy can be obtained. Dealers will inspect the rear crossmember and related components, including the brake lines, and replace them if necessary," according to NHTSA's recalls summary of the problem. "If the crossmember does not need to be replaced, it will be sprayed with a corrosion protection compound." It noted that "multiple visits to the dealer may be required."
Although Toyota did not explain why it is expanding the Tundra recall, a check of NHTSA's complaint database shows that consumers are still griping about the truck months after the original recall — including one who lives in Florida for part of the year.
"I own a 2003 Toyota Tundra that has severe frame rust," wrote one consumer. "Big pieces of metal are flaking off. Sooner or later, some component attachment point will fail. The rest of the underneath, and truck as a whole, is rust free. I religiously wash the underside of the truck. There is a defect with these frames."
Tundra owners with questions can contact Toyota at (800) 331-4331. - Question:-What's the big deal about the Toyota recall?
I own a Pontiac and i've taken in for 3 recalls since I've bought it 8 years ago. So what's the big deal about the Toyota recall?
Answer:-There is no easier target than #1. When the largest and most dependable car company in the world has a recall, GM and Ford take advantage of the situation. - Question:-Does the recent Toyota recall apply to Lexus?
I have a Lexus and am wondering if the recent Toyota recall applies to Lexus?
Answer:-http://www.ehow.com/how_5936555_toyota-recalled.html
In all, about 2.3 million U.S. vehicles are affected.
2009-2010 RAV4
2009-2010 Corolla
2009-2010 Matrix
2005-2010 Avalon
Certain 2007-2010 Camry
2010 Highlander except hybrid models
2007-2010 Tundra
2008-2010 Sequoia - Question:-What impact does the Toyota recall have on the world?
So basically, how would the toyota recall affect my life even though I don't own a Toyota??
Thank you :)
Answer:-If you think Toyota's got a problem....
Toyota made about 175 recalls....(including pedal and brakes)
Chevy over 700.....

I have a 2009 Tacoma, I was affected by the last recall with my 98, getting kinda sick of all this and questioning Toyota. My vehicle may not be affected directly by this new recall. However, Toyota's name is being somewhat tarnished and I believe it will effect resale value. Is there anyway to possibly be compensated / trade in my vehicle by Toyota or at least address my concerns somewhat.
Answer:-I understand exactly what you're trying to say here. Apparently, you and I are stuck in the same problem, we also have a Camry with the exact problem
I am sure you know that your suppose to brake and shift to neutral if this happens. Here's a little tip: until Toyota figures out this problem with the drive by wire (which was build in Indiana and Japan) DRIVE YOUR TOYOTA SLOWLY!!!!!!!!!
NEVER floor the car, stay under the speed limit, Be GENTLE TO the GAS pedal. If not than you are one of the ones who had this problem.
KEEP THE NEUTRAL in mind but SERIOUSLY DON'T FLOOR THE CAR, BE GENTLE TO THE GAS PEDAL OR YOUR CHANCES OF YOUR PEDAL GETTING STUCK WILL INCREASE
If you're wondering who's fault is this. This is clearly Toyota's, when they were doing testings with their vehicle they did report such problems but they never paid much attention to it nor they told anyone about it.
Resale value might be affected. If you're still interested in trading your vehicle. Get your hands on the 2007 Honda Accord THE BEST HONDA EVER. No RECALLS were ever made. people have driven it up to 102K and still reported no problems. - Question:-Do you think the Toyota recall thing is getting out of hand? Why isnt the government having hearings on other?
recalls from other carmakers?
Is the administration messing with Toyota to sell GM cars? GM is sending mail to Toyota owners warning them about the recalls and trying to scare people.
What do you think about the people that are suddenly having sudden acceleration problems that cant be explained mechanically?
Are the ambulance chasers that Obama loves so much starting to get involved?
Answer:-Well, if the government didn't own a large portion of GM, then there would not be the appearance of impropriety.
Yet another reason the government should stay out of private business! The same argument will apply if the government competes with the insurance companies that it's suppose to be regulating . . . .

oomph
- Question:-Why do my Mexican neighbors play oomph paa music?
It sounds like a German beer hall. They have outdoor parties and play this music. I don't mind (except that they don't invite me) but the oomph paa is incessant, every song has the same bass line. I've never heard Mexican music like this.
Answer:-its very traditional and cultural music, and not too shabby drinking music ;) I hated it for years because of the same thing (neighbors listening to it all the time) but when I got invited over once I had a great time and now that music just brings good happy memories :D - Question:-Where can I go to put some oomph in my 95 chrysler lebaron?
I love my 95 convertible lebaron and want to put on performance parts, bodykit, rims, and all that jazz what do I do?
Answer:-Couldnt even come close to what you want, you didnt give the engine size that is in your car, and since its front wheel drive what kind of performence do you want? Chrystal ball is in the shop - Question:-My car won't start but still has power and wants to turn over. Just doesnt have the Oomph. What is wrong?
It's a 92 Ford Taurus.
Have already replaced the fuel filter, and battery is new.
Answer:-Your battery could be showing 12v but doesn't have the cranking amps to turn your starter. If your battery is 3-5yrs old or older I would start there. If you take the battery with you when you buy a battery they will load test it for you. Good Luck - Question:-Can I find Oomph cds at Best Buy or Cheapo?
I really like Oomph and i would like to know where to find them.
Answer:-I doubt it they are an underground German band. Most likely not...you'll have to buy them online or go to germany. - Question:-Where can iI buy Oomph! Monster CD with the track Sandmann on it?
Wikipedia says that the reissued version of Monster (album by Oomph!) has Sandmann on it... and I can't find the cd to buy it online. if anyone finds it with the track sandmann on it, a link where i can buy the reissued version, can you link it please? i've tried ebay and amazon and a bunch of other sites but i think i may be wording it wrong and just cant find the cd online. ><
Answer:-http://www.grooves-inc.com/oomph-monster-gun-records-cd-album-pZZa1-688313384.html?currency=USD
And No your wording was right - Question:-How much more OOMPH in a V8 than a V6?
I'm planning on getting a Jeep Grand Cherokee and want some nice get up and go in it. Will the 4.7 Liter V8 be that much difference from the 3.7 Liter V6? Thanks
Answer:-Yes, you will definitely feel more power in the 4.7L V8. If you really want "some nice get up and go", get the HEMI 5.7L V8. It's much nicer than the 4.7 V8 and actually gets about the same gas mileage.
2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee
3.7L V6 210HP 15/20 mpg
4.7L V8 305HP 14/19 mpg
5.7L V8 330HP 13/19 mpg - Question:-Does a hybrid compact car (Prius, Civic) have enough "oomph" to get up a steep icy hill/driveway?
I have a very steep driveway - over the course of about 30 feet it rises approximately 10-12 feet to meet the street. Will a hybrid have enough torque to get up this hill in the wintertime in New Hampshire?
Answer:-The current hatchback style Toyota Prius is a midsize car (like the hybrid Toyota Camry), not a compact like the Honda Civic Hybrid.
Yes, you should be fine, plenty of "oomph." The electric motors have their highest amount of torque off-the-line.
However, at least with the Toyota Prius (but I'd suggest on any car that you decide to buy, hybrid or not), you'd want to look into changing out the OE 15" Goodyear Integrity tires on the base model Prius for something with more traction (better "all season" tires or a dedicated set of winter/snow/ice tires) to avoid triggering the over-protective traction control. (I put Nokian WR A.W.P. tires on my Prius to get out of my longer/less steep driveway in MA - much better traction getting up/out the driveway, and much safer driving in bad weather.)
I'd be more concerned about bottoming out one of your bumpers on such a steep driveway.
You might want to ask some actual owners, rather than the random assortment of mostly nay-sayers and non-owners found here on Y!A:

The mixture really needs something to lift it :)
Answer:-Paprika or sumac helps. Sumac is spicy and lemony, so that accents roast eggplant and sumac gives garlic a bit of a more-ish kick.
Kelly - Question:-What is it about having a cowbell playing in a song that gives it that 'oh so special' little extra oomph?
Who needs more cowbell?
Answer:-It's the raw sex appeal, the ladies love it. - Question:-How can I write with more "oomph?" I need to make my business writing more interesting and exciting. How can
I do that, especially when I'm not that enthused about the subjects? Use action words, verbs is one tip. Any others? Any classes that teach this?
Answer:-Try to find a way to make the paper more interesting. If YOU think it's boring, your teacher probably does too. Good business people find a way to make something interesting and appealing to others, so start practicing now. If your given a project to research a company or do an analysis on a company, look for quirks that are interesting. Don't be afraid to use some light humor in your writing. Teachers like unique, rather than the normal dull papers they always read.
When you write it, it should make you smile, because it will probably make the teacher smile too.
If it's a REALLY lame project, sometimes there isn't much to do about interesting/exciting, but you could still try to implement a little humor, for example using a related comparison to something else that is funny. "This company was doing so dismally in the fourth quarter, it was like watching Enron after the scandal." Is more interesting than, "The company did poorly in the fourth quarter."
Hope that helps!

2012 camry
- Question:-When will the 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid be released?
I been waiting on the 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid because I was hoping for it to have better MPG, but more important, I would hope it to have better crash test ratings that have at the very least of 4 stars. 2-3 star crash ratings are not acceptable for me. Also, I am hoping they will make a great refresh for the 2012 Toyota Camry. So does anybody know when the 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid will be released?
Answer:-Not till 2013. it's gonna take 'em that long to work out all the problems. - Question:-When will the 2012 Toyota Camry be released?
Does anybody know what month this year that the 2012 Toyota Camry will be released? They just released the 2011 Toyota Corolla not so long ago, they also added a 2011 Yaris, and now I am just waiting on a 2012 Toyota Camry to be released this year, so does anybody know when it will be released?
Answer:-Traditionally, the new model Camry's are released in May of the previous year. I've been buying Camry's for years and buy them in May or June. I bought a 2007 in June of '06, and bought a 2011 in May of '10. So the 2012's will presumably appear around May of this year. - Question:-2012 toyota camry is the best of the best car i ever driven in my whole entire life?
then why was "unsafe acceleration" news story? after driving 2012 camry i am more than convinced it was a lie
Answer:- - Question:-2010 camry se or 2012 camry?
I have a 2009 camry se and im thinking about trading it in for a 2010 camry se.should i do this or just wait for the 2012 camry. And what would be the price range for the 2012 camry?
Answer:-Well, seeing as the 2012 Camry is not available, who knows if it will be worth buying or what it will be like.
Even Toyota has no idea what the 2012 Camry will cost. The car does not exist. Keep your 09 and save your money until the 2012 model comes out. And chill out for now, no need to get all worked up over a car that won't exist for two years. - Question:-Toyota camry solara convertible coming back in 2012?
I know that they discontinued the Toyota camry solara convertible a little aftter 2008, but i've been hearing that it is coming back in 2012...is it? and when do 2012 cars come out? July-october of 2011 right?
Answer:- - Question:-website for 2012 camry please!?
does anyone know a website that can show pics of the 2012 toyota camry itsep for toyota nation.com.I know its just a concept but do you think they will make it or give to lexus. And also just make an estimate on how much you think it will cost.
Answer:-you're getting ahead of yourself...I don't even think Toyota even has it either. Wait until 2011. - Question:-What do you think of the new 2012 Camry?
Answer:-my sis has it.
its pretty much the same as the 07. its nice and safe but it is big.
the 2.5 liter engine makes around 190 HP which is actually pretty good. takes off quick. 6 speed auto. has traction control, anti-lock brakes , stability control. but keep in mide all new cars have the same features. its manatory. ive driven it, its a smooth quite ride, can hardly hear when u punch the gas. theres better outer there but a camry is good id give it a 6 out of 10. - Question:-When do you think Toyota will release the next generation Camry?
Personally, I can't wait for Toyota to introduce the 2012 Camry. What do you think it will look like?
Answer:-Toyota is CRUSTYY ! - Question:-should I buy a toyota Camry 2012 or a Mazda 6 2012?
Hey I am 20 years old about to buy my first new car ever. My I have limited my choices to this two cars, toyota Camry 2012, and Mazda 6 2012. They are both top of the line cars. Toyota has been a top chose quality car since ever, and they have some benefits such as Toyota care, but to me I personally want the Mazda 6 2012, It looks good,It feels good, we all know the zoom zoom power, Mazda is calming that they are best car of its class, and they did win rewards. I don't know how the insurance is going to work out, other than the fact that I am under 25, and I need its most likely going to be price
The thing I want to know is if I should pic the Mazda or the Toyota for the reason that I am planing on spending the next 4 to 8 years with one of the two cars.
Answer:-dont waste your money on a toyota.they killed people and they still denie it.get a mazda. - Question:-Considering a toyota Camry 2012?
Im 19 and have been driving a toyota corrola 2001 for 1 and a half year now.
I want to get a new car next summer and people have told me that i should either get a camry or accord or an altima? well im not sure though my dad and my uncle say Toyota have the best durability. they both have toyota cars, Land Cruiser and Avalon.
Answer:-The 2012 Camry is superior to the ugly Honda, and the cheap looking Altima any day! It's better looking too. And its reliability is the best in the world. since you have a Corolla, a Camry would be a nice step up. And there are many packages LE XLE etc for you to choose from. I love the XLE Camrys, they have rich luxurious leather seats, and power tinted moon roofs and other cool stuff, and they drive great! Good luck. Stay with Toyota and you won't go wrong. Hondas are know for transmissions problems and bad brakes. The Altima...well just look inside it and it screams cheap plastic.
