billy graham

  • Question:-Billy Graham?
Mom said that she heard today that Billy Graham was going to be on T. V. with expresidents. Does anyone know what channel and time.
    Thanks.

Answer:-10:00Pm Est on 20/ 20. That is on ABC .
  • Question:-What exactly did Billy Graham do to persuade the apartheid government of SA to hold an integrated crusade?
I have read a couple of biographies about Billy Graham and unfortunately, both of them gave scant attention to one of the more compelling things he did: get the hard headed apartheid government to break their own apartheid rules and hold an integrated crusade. What exactly did he do? Anyone have any details?

Answer:-About all I can find is:

During the Apartheid era, Graham consistently refused to visit South Africa until its government finally allowed attending audiences to sit desegregated. His first crusade there was in 1973, during which he openly denounced apartheid.
  • Question:-Now that Billy Graham is in the last stages of Parkinson's disease, will he become a Quaker?
Also, what's the funniest question you ever mailed to "Ask Billy Graham"? Was it published?

Answer:-Sorry, it's hard for me to have a sense of humor about a disease that debilitates so many people and destroys so many lives. Maybe if you'd known a few people with Parkinson's you wouldn't find it funny either. So, what other kinds of disabilities amuse you?
  • Question:-What are you feeling about the remarks Superstar Billy Graham said about the WWE?
After the Benoit incident Billy Graham just popped up out of no where, and he made remarks during several interviews that the WWE was like a circus and that the wrestlers were like animals. What are your thoughts?

Answer:-Well, in terms of Billy Graham, he was part of an era that was more of a circus...

..And not to mention that he still blames himself for the popularity of steoid use in Professional Wrestling, I don't know if his word is always the most trustworthy or if his analogy is even close. If WWE was like a circus and the wrestlers were like animals, I'm sure the Government would've found a way to end it. The wrestlers mostly do things on their own free will, not by force.
  • Question:-Will it be an ominous sign if Billy Graham dies right before May 21st?
Billy Graham is in the hospital. :(
Google is your friend, Winning. It allows you to live up to your name, and participate in the conversation with the Big Donkeys.

Answer:-No, just the end to a wonderful, fulfilling, well spent life on this earth for Rev. Graham. One of the greatest religious leaders that ever lived and he has earned his eternal peace in Heaven if anyone has. God Bless and keep him.
  • Question:-Why McCain meet Billy Graham instead of denounce him?
Billy graham believe the AIDS is judjment of God and, he did any scientific explanation about the disease? Dark Age in the Baptist Church?

Answer:-Religious people in general are highly deluded and primitive people, but don't hold that against McCain. I can think of lots of other reasons why he's not as qualified to be President as Obama is.
  • Question:-Does anyone knows the connection between Rev. Billy Graham and the Vatican ?
I have been reading and visiting Jack Chick's website, and he presented a connection between Rev. Billy Graham and the Catholic Church. I wondered what is the connection between Rev. Graham and the Vatican.

Answer:-Christianity is probably the greatest connection.

I'm sorry but I cannot take anything that Chick Publications says seriously.

If we were to believe all that Chick Publications claim then we would believe the the Catholic Church:
    • Started Islam
    • Instigated the American Civil War
    • Assassinated Abraham Lincoln
    • Formed the Ku Klux Klan
    • Was responsible for the Inquisition known as the WWII Jewish Holocaust
    • Keeps every Christian's name in a computer in order to make persecution easier

Here is a detailed rebuttal to Chick's tracks: http://www.catholic.com/library/sr_chick_tracts_p1.asp

    With love in Christ.
  • Question:-I was shocked when I found out that people are comparing Billy Graham to God ?
I mean, God is good but is he as anywhere near as good as Billy Graham ?

Answer:-It must be in the deep south, anything is possible down there.
  • Question:-billy graham?
how old was he when he first started his misions work?

hwhat made him devoted his life to missions

Answer:-I don't know how old....but God put a call on his life and he said yes. His life has been directed and subject to the leading of the Holy Spirit.
  • Question:-Looking for interviews about Billy Graham that talk about how he changed the Christian World.?
Also, if they could address how his teachings affected them personally
    that would be cool.
*I'm looking for one that is not an interview with Billy Graham, but someone that knows him personally, and talks about the changes he made.

Answer:-I dare to think that anyone who knows him personally would say that he did not make any changes, rather was a willing instrument through which Jesus Christ brought about change. Sorry, I cannot offer any source for that which you are seeking. God bless.

hugo

  • Question:-HUGO????????????????????????????????????????
how many evacuated from hurricane hugo

    Answer:-alot
  • Question:-Whats the difference between Hugo Chavez and George W Bush?
At least Hugo Chavez never got appointed to the presidency by an unelected body.

Answer:-Bush loves his Country and I guess Hugo loves his too(he must he rules it).
Hugo and barrack insane also have something in common, they both hate America.
  • Question:-What do you think about Hugo Chavez and his presidential policies?
I am a supporter of Hugo Chavez, I am not Venezuelan and I do not live in Venezuela.

I would just like to know what you think as the elections are tonight.

Answer:-Lol are you crazy? That punk is taking control of his own country! Which means he doesn't want freedom not even for his own people! Basically he wants to become a king! Now his is in the side of the drug dealers because he actually did finish with the drug dealers in his country but he sent all the stuff to other countries for example Mexico which is my country and Colombia. Now also that punk is a terrorist! Do you still think that chavez is cool? If you do then you must be out of your mind!
  • Question:-Javier Aguirre vs Hugo Sanchez. How badly is Aguirre going to destroy Hugo tactically speaking?
Or will Hugo Sanchez's 4-4-2 somehow overcome Aguirre hahaha i mean you never know? Also is it the match between the 2 best Mexican coaches in the history? Or not even close?

Answer:-Ohh man....I'm not sure...but I sure will love to see this!!
I mean, Once Hugo saw that Aguirre got a hold of A.de Madrid...I knew Hugo was Jealous. Hugo thinks they were just going to hand Real Madrid to him on a silver platter.....what a joke!! So deep down inside, he wants to win and prove that he got what it takes to be Real Madrid's future coach. He has to start his way down and up just like Aguirre did.

On the Other hand.....You have Aguirre who already knows the league like the back of his hand. Lets see.....It would be interesting to see a grind out match and see Hugo Overcome and it would be nice to see Aguirre's team destroy Hugo's team with the subs! Either outcome would be nice!! Lets see what happens!
  • Question:-How has Hugo Chavez been able to dominate in Venezuela?
How has Hugo Chavez changed and bettered venezuela and why does he win the hearts and votes/support of the people?
Please support with facts. Thank you.

    Best answer gets 10pts.

    Thanks!

Answer:-First of all Chavez is a President that fool a country when he got elected. He never claimed to be socialist, he actually admitted that Cuba is a dictatorship and he said that after 5 years in power he would leave, he got elected to fight corruption, better the economy and turn around the country. Instead he got thousands of Cuban to come to Venezuela to help the poor, with missions. The missions included education the poor, giving healthcare to the poor and low food prices. The thing is that Chavez for over 10 years in power has launched a ideology that did not existed, he has divided the country between rich and poor. Claims that being rich is bad, but some of the richest Venezuelans are Chavistas or Chavez followers. When I say rich i mean billion dollar rich. All that he did was take from the old rich and give it to his cabinet members and followers, why you might ask is he still in power?. Out of pure ignorance, Caracas every year becomes dirtier, poorer and overall worse. There is no social education, there is Chavez education. Why does he win elections, well consider this when elections come he uses the state money to fund for the campgains. He buy all the adds in newspaper, magazines and tv. Why is there no penalty for this because he controls every part of the Venezuela government. He has not won hearts he has won money followers, during elections is common to give bonuses, food, gifts to voter and government workers. Instead of fixing the problems he nationalizes the industries which he blames for the problems, he has nationalized pretty much everything. His government is like a hungry lion eating everything without thinking for the future. Once he nationalized everything in a couple of year those industries are going to be broken. And the only reason he has made it this far is called oil money. Even more the so called democracy that there is in Venezuela is a false democracy. When the opposition won the election for the supreme mayor of Caracas. The government took all it's power and responsibilities and created a new position called head of Caracas appointed by the president. The Opposition governors and mayors have run their budgets with less money then normal because they are not pro-chavez. He has put in Jail ex-followers just because they did not agree with him. He will come up with some charges and put you in jail. You want sources I am not going to look up these things for you can do your own research you will find all these things. How do I know these I am a Venezuelan who has seen my country go to hell. Thanks
  • Question:-How can I send a contribution to the Alaskans who rejected Hugo Chavez's offer of oil?
Hugo Chavez of Venezuela, after delivering a speech at the UN in which he insulted President Bush and the US, offered to provide millions of dollars of oil to poor Alaskans. Many of the Alaskan villages have accepted the offer, but many others have rejected it, to send a message to Chavez about their patriotism and loyalty.

Does anyone know how I (and others) can send a contribution to those villages that have bravely declined Chavez's offer? Thank you.

Answer:-I do not know the correct answer to this question, but I can tell you for certain where NOT to send it. Joe Kennedy. Rep.Joe Kennedy is conspiring with Hugo Chavez to bring communism to MA. Well, I suppose that with MA, there was a considerable head start before Hugo Chavez!
  • Question:-Why does Hugo Chavez praise Obama and his plans of socialism?
Hugo is power over the people while we're suppose to be "power to the people" over government. Why does Hugo love Obama so much?

Answer:-because they are both international socialists.
  • Question:-What does the engraving on Hugo Stiglitz's knife in Inglorious Basterds say?
What does the engraving on Hugo Stiglitz's knife in Inglorious Basterds say? I just saw the movie and couldn't catch it; Google has been no help, either.

Answer:-I have seen the movie 2 times and I am not sure of what's written on the blade of Hugo Stiglitz. But the dagger looks like a German army officer's dagger.
What's written differs if the dagger is a SS or a Werhmacht dagger.
I must ask my friends on several knives and collectibles forum to know more.
  • Question:-What question services like ask hugo are online?

grover norquist

  • Question:-How is Grover Norquist not a enemy of the United States of American?
Our fading generations are now the most dangerous problem we have in the US now. I think this guy is a enemy of the United States. If a company or group of people can cause problems in the economy government will try to save its people and spend so much that it will have to shrink itself aka cuts. "My goal is to cut government in half in twenty-five years, to get it down to the size where we can drown it in the bathtub" _Grover Norquist May 24th 2001.

Answer:-= "My goal is to cut government in half in twenty-five years, to get
= it down to the size where we can drown it in the bathtub"

He does not call for drowning it in the bathtub -- nor for any other violence.

He calls for it becoming so small, that it would fit in the bathtub... And I agree.
  • Question:-Has Grover Norquist permanently changed the Pledge of Allegiance?
Grover Norquist persuaded hundreds of U. S. Representatives and Senators to ignore those citizens who had elected them, and to sign a pledge of allegiance to him instead. The new pledge reads as follows:

"I pledge allegiance to the United States of Norquist and to the Plutocracy for which it stands, one ideology, underground, indivisible, with avidity and suffrage for millionaires all."

Does not the signing of the Norquist pledge, override the oath of office taken by the members of congress who signed it?

    Answer:-
  • Question:-Is Grover Norquist a danger to American economic recovery?
A growing number of House lawmakers want out of an Americans For Tax Reform President Grover Norquist's pledge in which they vowed to never raise taxes.

Who is this Norquist dude and why are politicians following him?

    Answer:-
  • Question:-Is Grover Norquist getting what he wanted years ago?
Norquist was cheering on Bush as he raced to increase the deficit years ago by cutting taxes and wildly increasing spending. Norquist called it "starving the beast". His hope was that Bush-like spending and tax cuts would create monstrous deficits that would, by necessity, lead to deep spending cuts.
Has Grovers' evil nightmare played out for America?

Answer:-I don't know why Reps are afraid of Norquist this man is a big fat nothing that has all the Reps on a string.
  • Question:-Is Grover Norquist more of a threat to the United States than Marx or Lenin ever was?
The latter two couldn't create class warfare in this country. Do you think the Norquist demand of 'no new taxes' will do what those arch enemies could not accomplish?

Answer:-Norquist is without a doubt a class baiter. He follows the Ayan Rand philosophy that says the rich are victims of the poor.
  • Question:-Who elected Grover Norquist and why is he sitting in on the super committee meetings?
I don't want to abolish Norquist. I simply want to reduce him to the size where I can drag it into the bathroom and drown it in the bathtub...,,

    sarcasm.....

    Answer:-
  • Question:-After Grover Norquist drowns government and its benefits to the poor in the bathtub?
what happens to the 45 million on Food Stamps?http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grover_Norquist

    Answer:-embezzled
  • Question:-Do Republican Congressmen answer more to their constituents & voter base, or to Grover Norquist?
Who does the GOP want to appease more - their voters, or Grover Norquist?
Mjonhir: Incorrect. 64% of Americans want taxes raised on the rich: http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162-20114988-503544.html

    That also includes Republicans.

Answer:-Tax evaders and cheaters and monopolistic corporations...
  • Question:-What did Grover Norquist mean when he spoke of drowning the government in the bathtub?
Or more specifically; that he wanted to make it small enough that it could be drowned in the bathtub?
What did he mean by that?

Answer:-I would understand liberals being confused by this.

The American way of thinking is that government is an impediment to freedom and must be restrained and limited in size, scope and power.

The totalitarian way of thinking is that people are the enemy of government and that government must be preserved, trusted and enhanced for the good of everyone.

Liberals are just not honest about what they believe.
  • Question:-When conservatives made their pledge to unelected lobbyist Grover Norquist?
Did they write it in blood or something? Why can't they just tell Grover to go pound sand?

"Sorry.. just kidding bro.. maybe go whine to big-bird or something dude"

That's what they should tell this guy that's holding America hostage to his idea on how America should be run. How is that even democratic.. one man holding the nation hostage?

Answer:-Well most likely because they are aware of Norquist's right to free speech. During Obama's first pres. campaign he loudly proclaimed "Lobbyists will find no place in MY administration" President now has more than 40 ( maybe as many as 200) on his payroll, including Eric Holder and tax cheat Tim Geithner. As usual, old Obie was talking out of both sides of his purple lips

occupy portland

  • Question:-Does anyone find it hilarious that my friend left Occupy Portland to play Modern Warfare 3 on his Xbox?
My friend attends college near Portland and he has been dropping in and out of the Occupy protest. But now that Modern Warfare 3 has been out, he's stopped going. I find it ironic how he's against corporations, except the ones he needs or likes.

    Answer:-
  • Question:-Why is Portland Police Department whining all over media in fear of Occupy Portland hippies?
Little girls? I've never heard so much whining since my kitten was locked out of the bedroom.

    Think this will get results?

    Answer:-Portland, Oregon or Portland, Maine?
    And for what reason?
  • Question:-Occupy Portland. Will they be arrested.?
gas masks just came out by media.

    think they'll pray the protesters?

    Answer:-
  • Question:-have you seen this "Occupy Portland" band singing "F the USA"?
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OeuGx8PplAo

    Answer:-Nope. .
  • Question:-Conservatives, do you hope the police are able to successfully force out the Occupy Portland protesters 2night?
If so, in light of the GOP debate where almost every candidate came out in favor of allowing the govt. to assassinate U.S. citizens without oversight, along with the right to protest which other rights do you want eliminated from the Constitution?

    Thanks.
So Jamie, people only have the right to protest if the government allows them to by allowing them a permit. By your logic, and I use that term loosely, if the government doesn't agree to give you a permit you cannot protest b/c you will have "outstayed" your permit. So you are in favor of completely eliminating most of the First Amendment, which I can guarantee you have never read.
James K, is this a parody of a retarded conservative, or do you actually write like that?

    Answer:-
  • Question:-is it legal to carry a gun in the state of oregon?
Juuuuust curious, was debating with somebody. My understanding is that it is completely legal as long as it is in plain sight. Like for example i could go walking around downtown with an .22 slung over my shoulder. I also saw a video on the news of someone carrying an AK47 downtown Portland with all this "Occupy Portland" stuff going on.

toyota recall

  • Question:-Toyota Recall...................................?
Is the US government and media making the recall bigger than it actually is?
Is the US government and media making the recall bigger than it actually is?

Oh yeah... the toyota hilux has never been banned and was shown on programs such as Top Gear and praised for their reliability. Many hilux's have more than 300,000 miles and are called the indestructable truck.

Answer:-EMILY GO DO YOUR HOMEWORK BEFORE ANSWERING ANY QUESTIONS.....YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT.....YOU HAVE NO SOURCE TO SUPPORT YOUR ANSWER...

    NOW for the Toyota recall..........

Stop Abusing Toyota just because of a huge recall....gas pedals wear out if you constantly floor your car when you don't really need to.....temperature and humidity can also affect it.

I understand that everyone would agree that Toyota did hide this problem and everyone would obviously accept that American cars are better.

The fact of the matter is that all car companies have to go through recalls. Toyota & Honda are definitely being attacked by the government especially LaHood. He's constantly making a big deal about this...

First he says to stop driving toyota's (even Obama agreed)

    http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2010/02/0…

Then He later apologies for his idiotic words....

    http://www.azcentral.com/business/articl…

I do understand that Toyota has included more than a million vehicles in this recall. Honda's wasn't even that severe....one incident triggered the whole situation & guess who made a public announcement.....YES LAHOOD.

    http://www.koco.com/news/22537819/detail…

So Tell Me American Car Lovers.....

Why didn't the government announce the GM recall... (more than 1.5 million vehicles)

    http://www.usrecallnews.com/2009/04/nhts…

    Chevy recall.... (905,000 vehicles)

    http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2010/…

And yours truly Ford.... (more than 80,000 vehicles)

    http://www.consumeraffairs.com/recalls04…

Toyota has made over 175 recalls within the year of 2000
Ford over 250+ (not too bad, very impressing, seems I can trust them)
    Chevy over 700+
    GM over 1000+

And you still love American Cars????

If Government did decide to make this public.............They're FINISHED. They have no money to make a recall.....sure they can do minor but major such as TOyota....they're gone.

Lahood and the transportation department are deliberately keeping this quiet just for the sake of keeping American car companies alive as well as aiding the economy. Oh sure the economy is going up as American car companies gain profit.....wait till Toyota starts firing people...UNEMPLOYMENT IS OFF THE CHART!

Toyota has employed hundreds of people, imagine them without jobs if Toyota left US. If they left we would be in an instant recession.

In some cases GM, Ford, Chevy needs Toyota for competition. It is because of Toyota Honda and Nissan GM, Ford and Chevy stand this good today....otherwise they would still use same old parts from 1990's.

Doesn't matter if Toyota made such a huge recall.....The downfall is that pretty soon Toyota will start firing workers and unemployment rates will increase. Look at the bright side....They will lose money and the CEO will have to invest into more safer technologies to make their vehicles better....

last time I checked GM begged the government for money, they showed up in their hybrid cars to prove them that they can improve.....lets see. Because of their irresponsibility I am losing my money as taxpayer. Why should I pay for their failures when I should worry about my savings, sending kids to college, keeping a roof over my family and feeding them.

This is all a media hype by the government to convince people to buy American cars....even if you have a Toyota just take it to the dealer and have your pedals fixed...it will only take 2 hours rather than you wasting more than $18,000 on a new car....Plus Toyota dealers are seriously listening to any complaints about their vehicles from numerous customers and providing quick and fast solution.

Every American car lover is being a bit too harsh on Toyota & Japanese cars....For your information....we need Toyota for Competition....Ford, Chevy GM watched how they rose to the top and now they're doing the same.

Japanese cars are good, American Cars are good, all cars are good....mainly its human error which can end lives not cars.
  • Question:-Will the Toyota recall effect the price of Camrys bought at the car auction?
Im in the market for a new car and I have a friend looking at the Detroit Auto Auction for 2008 Toyota Camry. But with this huge recall Toyota has what will happen to the prices? Will they go down because of it or will they increase? And will I even be able to buy a Camry at the auction because Toyota stopped the sale of them from all dealers? Thanks!

Answer:-As a car dealer I can tell you as of an hour ago, MMR (auction) has pulled them from the auction lists
  • Question:-Can I break my lease with toyota since my truck is included in the toyota recall?
I have a toyota tundra, the 2007 - 2010 model is listed in the recall. I have the truck leased and I really want to end the lease and get rid of it. Is it possible for me to take the truck back, claim that I've had the problem and then demand the lease to be broken?

Answer:-No you can't break the lease but you might have a small claims court action for lack of use.
reasoning: truck is unsafe, you feel unsafe driving it, you call dealer and he tells you it will take two weeks or so to get appointment to fix it. You have now lost two weeks of use on your truck. That is what you can sue for
  • Question:-Has the Toyota recall campaign by government failed?
Every other car I see on the road is Toyota. The government tried very hard to smear Toyota as a failed car. Now even the Toyota website doesn't mention anything about recall. The recall story just faded away as soon as Toyota paid $16 million fine. So was the campaign done only to get $16 million? Isn't that suspicious?

Answer:-the recall campaign failed miserably. Toyota is back to making huge profits and just announced $1.2 billion profit in the latest quarter. They continue making revenue at the pace of $205 billion an year, making it at one of the top 10 largest revenue corporations in the world. I personally think it was all about the $16 million fine. The fine was paid and the story faded away
  • Question:-Was their a toyota recall on a 2000 tundra?
I have a 2000 toyota tundra with the 4.7L V8, was their ever a recall on it, and if their was how would i go about doing that?

    Answer:-Toyota Expands Tundra Recall
    Published Mar 10, 2010

    * Toyota expands a recall of the 2000-'03 Tundra to cover all trucks in the U.S.
    * The recall is to fix a corrosion problem with the Tundra's frame.
    * Initially, only 20 cold-weather states were included in the recall.

DETROIT — Toyota is expanding a recall of the 2000-'03 Tundra to cover all vehicles in the U.S., the automaker said on Wednesday. The recall is to fix part of the truck's frame that could corrode.

Excessive corrosion of the rear crossmember could cause spare tires or the gas tank to drop off the vehicle. The original recall was announced last November and covered 110,000 trucks sold in 20 cold-weather states. Toyota initially said exposure to road salt could cause the corrosion.

"Now a special service campaign will be launched covering all 2000-'03 model-year Tundra vehicles that were originally sold in and currently registered in the remaining 30 states," wrote Curt McAllister, a Toyota spokesman, in an e-mailed message to Inside Line. "Owner notification will commence in mid-March."

McAllister was not able to say how many more Tundras will be added to the original recall in this case.

Word of the expanded Toyota recall comes during a hectic week for Toyota as it struggles to cope with the fallout from massive recalls of its vehicles and the ensuing blow to its reputation.

In its original description of the Tundra corrosion recall, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said that "excessive corrosion of the rear crossmember may cause the separation of the spare tire stowed under the truck bed, which would present a road hazard that could cause a crash. Also, corrosion of the rear crossmember could affect the rear brake lines and the proportioning valve, resulting in diminished braking capability."

As of November 16, 2009, Toyota was advising owners of the affected Tundras to remove the spare tire from under the vehicle "until a remedy can be obtained. Dealers will inspect the rear crossmember and related components, including the brake lines, and replace them if necessary," according to NHTSA's recalls summary of the problem. "If the crossmember does not need to be replaced, it will be sprayed with a corrosion protection compound." It noted that "multiple visits to the dealer may be required."

Although Toyota did not explain why it is expanding the Tundra recall, a check of NHTSA's complaint database shows that consumers are still griping about the truck months after the original recall — including one who lives in Florida for part of the year.

"I own a 2003 Toyota Tundra that has severe frame rust," wrote one consumer. "Big pieces of metal are flaking off. Sooner or later, some component attachment point will fail. The rest of the underneath, and truck as a whole, is rust free. I religiously wash the underside of the truck. There is a defect with these frames."

Tundra owners with questions can contact Toyota at (800) 331-4331.
  • Question:-What's the big deal about the Toyota recall?
I own a Pontiac and i've taken in for 3 recalls since I've bought it 8 years ago. So what's the big deal about the Toyota recall?

Answer:-There is no easier target than #1. When the largest and most dependable car company in the world has a recall, GM and Ford take advantage of the situation.

  • Question:-Concerns about the Toyota Recall and my Tacoma?
I have a 2009 Tacoma, I was affected by the last recall with my 98, getting kinda sick of all this and questioning Toyota. My vehicle may not be affected directly by this new recall. However, Toyota's name is being somewhat tarnished and I believe it will effect resale value. Is there anyway to possibly be compensated / trade in my vehicle by Toyota or at least address my concerns somewhat.

Answer:-I understand exactly what you're trying to say here. Apparently, you and I are stuck in the same problem, we also have a Camry with the exact problem

I am sure you know that your suppose to brake and shift to neutral if this happens. Here's a little tip: until Toyota figures out this problem with the drive by wire (which was build in Indiana and Japan) DRIVE YOUR TOYOTA SLOWLY!!!!!!!!!

NEVER floor the car, stay under the speed limit, Be GENTLE TO the GAS pedal. If not than you are one of the ones who had this problem.

KEEP THE NEUTRAL in mind but SERIOUSLY DON'T FLOOR THE CAR, BE GENTLE TO THE GAS PEDAL OR YOUR CHANCES OF YOUR PEDAL GETTING STUCK WILL INCREASE

If you're wondering who's fault is this. This is clearly Toyota's, when they were doing testings with their vehicle they did report such problems but they never paid much attention to it nor they told anyone about it.

Resale value might be affected. If you're still interested in trading your vehicle. Get your hands on the 2007 Honda Accord THE BEST HONDA EVER. No RECALLS were ever made. people have driven it up to 102K and still reported no problems.
  • Question:-Do you think the Toyota recall thing is getting out of hand? Why isnt the government having hearings on other?
    recalls from other carmakers?

Is the administration messing with Toyota to sell GM cars? GM is sending mail to Toyota owners warning them about the recalls and trying to scare people.

What do you think about the people that are suddenly having sudden acceleration problems that cant be explained mechanically?

Are the ambulance chasers that Obama loves so much starting to get involved?

Answer:-Well, if the government didn't own a large portion of GM, then there would not be the appearance of impropriety.

Yet another reason the government should stay out of private business! The same argument will apply if the government competes with the insurance companies that it's suppose to be regulating . . . .

referendum

  • Question:-Referendum?
Why was Referendum historically significant in the US?

Answer:-well, referendum means: the principle or practice of submitting to popular vote a measure passed on or proposed by a legislative body or by popular initiative .
so I guess it just means that in the US there has always been the right to vote on bills in congress.
  • Question:-referendum?
which country recently held an election to pass a referndum to change its constitution? did it pass?

Answer:-Venezuela....Chavez tried to change it so he could have "unlimited" terms in office.
You can go to this link to read more...
    http://search.yahoo.com/search?ei=utf-8&fr=slv8-&p=hugo%20chavez&type=
The people rejected the change so it did NOT pass.
  • Question:-Should the United States adopt a national referendum process that allows citizens to directly vote?
Should the United States adopt a national referendum process that allows citizens to directly vote on important policies? Why or why not?

Answer:-Yes because it would give us the direct ability to represent ourselves not just an elected politician who will more than likely put a spin on what the peoples real issues and concerns are!
  • Question:-How did initiative, referendum and recall change democracy in the united states?
How did initiative, referendum and recall change democracy in the united states?

Answer:-the states that allow it let people get more directly involved in government
  • Question:-USA - Should there be a referendum on wether private property continues to exist or not?
USA - Should there be a referendum on wether private property continues to exist or not? If the majority votes in favor of keeping private property as is, then nothing changes. But if the majority votes in favor of abolishing private property, then all property (homes, apartments, storage buildings, industries, banks, etc) is given to the government so it decides how to best use these. That would be the democratic thing.

Answer:-American is a Representative democracy with a written constitution. If Congress passed a constitutional amendment that was then ratified by all fifty states you could abolish property rights. Good luck on that one!
  • Question:-Should a legislative referendum process be used on the national level of government? Why or Why not?
Should a legislative referendum process be used on the national level of government? Why or Why not?

    Answer:-Most definitely.

The people are not getting what they elected their representatives to do, so let the people do it through a referendum. We can start with making our government officials live on social security and no special health plans for them.
  • Question:-Is the 2008 election actually a referendum upon the Republican agenda?
Is the 2008 election actually a referendum on Republican agenda of giving more to the those that have the most?

What does it say it say about Conservatives insomuch the Republican ideology appears to be thoroughly rejected?

Answer:-More than anything else, this election says there is hope for the United States, after all.

I'm so proud to be an American today. The world will again see us as they should.
  • Question:-Why can't Canada hold a referendum to abolish the Quebec Bloc Separatist Party?
With the separatist party in the house of commons, it lowers the chances significantly of any LEGITIMATE party of getting a majority and it is a waste of tax payers money through the party subsidies that the party gets.
If there was a referendum, would you support it?

Answer:-A reforendum will unfortunatley not work. Quebec is one third of the population and every one of them would vote no. Then you only need a few more sympathizers in Nova Scotia, Onatrio and New Brunswick to make up the difference.

I agree the Block Quebecois is a sty on the Canadian government system, but there's not much that can be done.

EDIT: I highly disagree with Cougar that they would go away if their needs were being met. The whole purpose of the Bloc is to get a disproportionately larger share of the pie for Quebec than other provinces. In that they operate more like a provincial government with much larger clout in the Federal government. I think that could be seen as a potential way to get rid of them legally. Investigate their actions to show that they operate as an extension of Quebec’s provincial government and make the case that they do not have the interests of anyone but Quebec in mind and therefore are not a legitimate federal party.

Cougar: People don't vote for fairness, they vote on their own interests. To the rest of Canada, that means voting for someone who'll do the best job for Canada. For Quebecers it means voting for someone who'll do the best job for Quebecers. They don't see themselves as Canadians. I live in Shanghai and there's a Canadian consulate here and a Quebec consulate. I cannot go to the Quebec consulate for anything because I'm not a Quebec citizen. No doubt this is the doing of the Block. Now Canada, from federal funds has to pay for Quebec consulates around the world and for what? Big waste of money, but when you have a federal party that only wants to divide Canada and doesn't care about the needs of Canadians, it shouldn't be legally recognized. It's almost certain a real party wanted to pass something important and needed the Block to get it through and the Block said "give us consulates around the world and we'll support it" undermining what's best for Canada as a whole once again. Something should be done.
  • Question:-How can ordinary citizens force a public referendum?
To cut governmental costs, how could a public initiated referendum be initiated to allow for voting on reducing t\he number of representatives by tripling the number of citizens needed in a given area for congressional representation? For our Federal government? For our State government?

Answer:-Start a petition. Go out and get citizens to sign it. If enough signatures are obtained you will get the attention of the nation. You would have to have a constitutional amendment to change this in federal or state govt. They are very hard to get a sufficient number of citizens to back them.
  • Question:-Can Queen Elizabeth refuse Royal Assent for a vote on a referendum for New Zealand abolishing the monarchy?
Or does she not get any right if it's not a bill? Does she if it was a bill? If they had a referendum could she refuse that? What legal powers does a referendum have in NZ and do they have Royal Assent?

Answer:-I'd love to see it happen. I'd love to see how the constitutional crisis would play out. God save the Queen!

May Her Majesty spark a constitutional crisis that highlights the powers of the monarchy!

What do you think of Bernie Madoff's sentence? He has been sentenced for 150 years, the maximum. Is it long enough? Too short? Should there be other things that should happen like liquidating any & all assets? Or do you think that he should have rec'd some other sort of sentence? What do you think?

  • Question:-Is Bernie Madoff getting sent to a prison similar to Club Fed?
My father said something about Bernie Madoff is going to prison similar to a country club and he's gonna be able to sip coffee and play pool.

    Is this true?

Answer:-Not if the US Marshal's Service and Bureau of Prisons has their way(as well as those he swindled!)...

He'll likely go to the "Supermax" federal prison-from-hell in the southern Colorado city of Florence(not far from the Colorado State Fair complex in nearby Pueblo)...

Just think:23 1/2 hours in a 8' x 8' cell, w/ NO windows, the SAME crap that "America's Meanest Sheriff"(Phoenix's Joe Arpaio) feeds HIS inmates(you know, moldy bread, stale bologna, rotten milk, and non-recycled TOILET WATER!...NO mail, NO phone allowances, NO visitors ANYTIME!...NO TV/radio, NO light in the cell, NO bed, just a hole in the floor to "go potty", repeated strip searches at ANY time!

The government is running a similar ponzi scheme, cooking the books, hiding the real numbers and have bankrupted the nation. We can't afford ANY NEW PROGRAMS because we can't even fund the old ones...The government is Bernie Madoff times trillions.

    Answer:-Congratulations you got it!!!
The only difference is our government does it under color of law( unconstitutional as it is) and force you to pay up or go to jail or lose personal property.
Bernie was in competition with them and the government does not like it so Bernie went for a boat ride, so to speak.
There is no difference except the members of congress swore an oath to support and defend the constitution which they break that oath every day and keep getting elected and Bernie did not.

I would like to write to Bernie Madoff but i think to write a letter you have to give a return adress. Is this dangerous, not just because of bernie madoff, but to inmates in general?

The House and Senate proposals fund recipients benefits by mandating young people buy health insurance at between two and three times the actuarial cost. Bernie Madoff is in jail for doing exactly what the government has done with Medicare: fund payouts to seniors with revenue collected from new people coming into the system.

Answer:-Marxist FDR created the biggest Ponzi scheme in history, then he created internment camps, and confiscated certain private property.

Yet, liberals idolize this creep! It's one thing to read history, and it's another to accept everything that is spoon-fed in Screwool.
  • Question:-Was it assault and battery when the photographers were pushing and shoving Bernie Madoff?
All these photographers were taking pictures of Bernie Madoff as he was walking to his apartment. They were pushing and shoving him, one guy almost knocked him down. Was it assault and battery?

Answer:-Technically it is. But he's the bad guy so no one really cares.

reed hastings

  • Question:-Netflix stock plummets and Reed Hastings back peddles, will he stop being greedy?
I read the special letter from Reed Hastings CEO of Netflix...do you think he has learned anything? He's still raising the rates and complicated the system because of his greed by separating the services and our que choice!! He should have said "Some members will likely feel that we shouldn’t split the businesses, and that we shouldn’t rename our DVD by mail service. Our view is with this split of the businesses we'll make a TON of $$ at the expense of the ppl suffering in this eonomy!!"
    Below is the Netflix letter:

    http://www.techhog.com/featured/netflix-ceo-reed-hastings-so-called-apology-and-announcement-of-qwikster-dvd-rentals/

What is your take on Netflix and the Reed Hastings letter?

Answer:-I've been a Netflix customer since 2005. Started with the 3 DVD package and kept it for many years. Recently downgraded my account to 1 disk & streaming to save money but still have entertainment. I lost my job 2 years ago and I have to look for way to cut the budget. My teens have always loved the streaming and used it too catch up on TV shows and watch some movies. The movie choices have never been great, but we could always count on the DVD's.

For all these years I have loved Netflix, raved about it and recommended it to many people. Well, the love affair is over. When they had their recent price increase I wasn't ready for a 60% price increase. So we decided to dump the streaming (subpar service) and keep the DVD. Well, with the arrogance and greed of Hastings, now I just want to dump Netflix completely. I can get movies at Redbox for $1 and streaming from Hulu Plus or Amazon. Netflix has opened my eyes and got me comparison shopping. I'll probably cancel by the end of the month.
  • Question:-Is Reed Hastings a Christian?
He is the founder and creator of Netflix, is he a Christian though or an atheist, I think I found something about him being a Christian online.

Answer:-Hastings was born in Boston, Massachusetts.[1] He graduated high school in 1978 from the Buckingham Browne & Nichols School in Cambridge, Massachusetts.[2] His father was a lawyer who once served in the Nixon administration, serving as general counsel in the United States Department of Health, Education, and Welfare.[1] After high school, he spent a year selling Rainbow vacuum cleaners door to door.[1]

Hastings majored in mathematics at Bowdoin College[3] in Brunswick, Maine, and won its mathematics department's Smyth Prize in 1981,[4] and its Hammond Prize in 1983.[5] Hastings received his bachelor's degree from the college in 1983

    Exodus 20:8-11
  • Question:-HOLY BEANS REED HASTINGS PRESIDENT OF NETFLIX IS DEAD!!!!!?
    He will be forever missed...

    Answer:-What's next...Steve Jobs dying???
  • Question:-Is Netflix CEO "Reed Hastings" his real name?
I mean...who has a name like that in reality? Is that a made-up name like some cheap porn flick guy from the 70's? What is that? Com'on...are you sure his parents weren't "Lovey" and "Thurston Howl III"?? SERIOUSLY...is that a fake pseudonym? Is his personality like his name? Completely out of touch with the real world...is that why he made this ridiculously huge increase in rates for us?

Answer:-Of course you wouldn't PHINEAS ARCHEBALD GARRISON IV.

Ans - Yes to both, Mr. Reed Hastings is his real name & yes, it's a pretentious name (especially if WILMOT is the 1st name) and he certainly is out of touch with how to treat the populace during this financially stressful time and obviously greed-based. No doubt with a name like that a silver spoon who wears his spiffy commodores cap sailing his yummy yacht.
  • Question:-Why don't the rich just pay more taxes?
Reed Hastings wants a 50% tax on anything over a million. My questions is why does the Super Rich need the Government that they need to pay more. If these people believe that giving more to the Government is the way to go, why don't they just cut them a check? I'm sure the government wouldn't mind the extra money!
But some what the Government to tax them more. I'm all for lower taxes, but if the Rich want the government to have more why don't they just cut them a check. Nothing is stopping people who want to pay more to pay more.

Answer:-I understand what you're asking, even if some of the others here don't. You're not in favor of higher taxes for the rich, you want to know why the bigmouths who want higher taxes for the rich don't just voluntarily pay more.

It's a great question, and one that these liberal free spenders will never give a straight answer to. Because the real motive is not so much to raise more tax revenue. If they really wanted to do that, they would cut taxes, which has been shown time and time again to actually INCREASE revenue due to INCREASED business spending and investment - provided that the there is a corresponding check on government spending, which the liberals do not want. They are perfectly happy to fund their spending by saddling generations to come with borrowed money, ie more debt.

So why do they do it? Simple. It's called 'Playing the class envy card'. Get as many voters as possible to despise the wealthy - the people that actually take risks and produce and provide jobs - and blame THEM for all of the problems that are actually caused by liberals.

  • Question:-Did you ever think TAXES are great?
Have you ever though about the good aspects of taxes?
Recently, a group of misguided individuals decided to re-create the Boston Tea Party. Apparently these people are dissatisfied with Obama's tax policy. Now, mind you, we (the middle class the bottom 95%) just received a tax cut. The protesters claim to be protesting the vast government spending. The government is spending massive amounts of money but it is necessary, in order to keep the United States economy out of another Republican Depression! This lesson was learned from the first great depression. So what these Teabaggers as they are called, are protesting, I do not understand.

The irony in this is that the Boston Tea Party was actually in protest to a tax cut!! In the 1770's tea was very popular. The British East India company exported tea to the then colonies of North America. The British East India company was the most powerfull trans-national corporation in the world. The British government cut the East Indian's company taxes and they were able to provide tea at a reduced rate and they were going to under-cut the domestic merchants of tea. So the local's in the colonies protested by tossing the tea into the sea. In other words, the colonist were protesting the unfair domination by multi-national corporation of the industry. Today, these multi-national corporations are the ones organizing these "tea parties." In reality we need to be protesting the trans-national corporations and the very very wealthy. Also, the protester's in the 1770's were protesting taxation without representation which is a non-issue today because we all have our representatives in congress.

Ronald Reagan raised our taxes but I didn't see these people protest then. Ronald Reagan typically receives credit for dropping taxes which he did for the top 5% ( drop the tax rate from 71% to 39%.) But for the rest of us in the middle class he doubled our Social Security Tax.

Obama does plan to raise taxes but not on the middle class but rather on the top 5%. The protest was organized by such people as Newt Gingrich (FORMER Republican leader) which is known as a person who looks out for national corporations such as the oil companies and the very wealthy and Dick Armey, a known lobbyist. You see taxes are not our enemy. In fact taxes really don't matter at all to the middle class. If the taxes on the middle class increase then so will our wages. On the other hand if our taxes decrease so will our wages, because employers know what we are willing to work for. But taxes do matter to the top 5% because they do truly have more money if the government drops taxes. This is why the rich and corporations have waged war on taxes because they don't want to pay them.

On February 6, 2009, Reed Hasting the CEO of a publicly traded company asked Obama to raise his taxes in an OP-ED piece in the N.Y. Times. In his article Hastings mention the fact that the government and media have attempted to minimize executive pay by shaming executives or limiting the amount of compensation and executive can receive. He says that neither of them work and that raising taxes would be more effective. Hastings then points out the fact that because other companies are paying such huge compensation every company feels obligated to do so also, to attract talent. He says that the solution is to raise everyone's taxes to prevent this phenomenon. He also states that this problem exists with hedge fund managing, professional athletes, movie stars and venture capitalist.

I strongly agree with him. Taxes are a good thing. Taxes are what pays for things that we absolutely need such as courts, fire departments, infrastructure and police departments! Also, on the individual level if we get national health care it is worth having our taxes increased slightly because our health care system is broken. Our health care system sucks! It is not fair to have a CEO earns billions of dollars a year and deny people health insurance, coverage!

I know that it is easy to hate taxes you look at your check, income or tax bill and you say man that is a lot of money but think what am I getting for this, ,schools, the FDA, streets, courts, police etc etc etc. Additionally when government is well run you mind less. When government sucks it hurts more to pay. Also taxes stabilize the economy because it keeps people from acquiring massive amounts of wealth and prevents massive speculation in markets.

Our founding fathers fought against such accumulation of wealth because its is toxic to DEMOCRACY!!!!!

It's easy to demagogue the issue because you don't like paying but stop for a moment and think.

    Answer:-taxes n death r the 2 things ur gauranteed

bernie madoff

  • Question:-What do you think of the Bernie Madoff 150 year sentence?
What do you think of Bernie Madoff's sentence? He has been sentenced for 150 years, the maximum. Is it long enough? Too short? Should there be other things that should happen like liquidating any & all assets? Or do you think that he should have rec'd some other sort of sentence? What do you think?

Answer:-They should claw back as much as they can from his wife and family (all those mansions, planes, boats and cars), then burn him alive with all those useless investment certificates he issued to his clients.

Trust me, he'll LOOOOVE it there!

Knowing him, however, he'd rather go to "Club Fed" near the California city of Lompoc(near Vandenberg AFB)...but that WON'T happen!

    HTH...
  • Question:-How is what our government is doing now any different than what Bernie Madoff did?

  • Question:-Why do we imprison Bernie Madoff yet praise 0bama for doing the exact same thing: a Ponzi scheme?
The House and Senate proposals fund recipients benefits by mandating young people buy health insurance at between two and three times the actuarial cost. Bernie Madoff is in jail for doing exactly what the government has done with Medicare: fund payouts to seniors with revenue collected from new people coming into the system.

Answer:-Marxist FDR created the biggest Ponzi scheme in history, then he created internment camps, and confiscated certain private property.

Yet, liberals idolize this creep! It's one thing to read history, and it's another to accept everything that is spoon-fed in Screwool.
