rose bowl

  • Question:-Rose Bowl?
Rose Bowl or Rose Parade? Which do you most enjoy watching and why?

Answer:-the rose bowl! 3 hours of football is much better than watching a bunch of mechanical floats covered in flowers driving down a street.
  • Question:-rose bowl?
now that usc made the rose bowl who do you think is going to play usc?

Answer:-i'm guessing illinois or georgia...but then again, the BCS is weird sometimes...
  • Question:-What is so special about the rose bowl from all the other bowl games?
Everybody always makes a big deal about the rose bowl football game from all the other bowl games like the tostitos bowl and all those other ones.

Answer:-the rose bowl is the original bowl. for many years the rose bowl alone determined the national champion. all the other bowls are copy cats and pretenders to the rose bowl.
  • Question:-What is the US dollar value of an authentic U of M 1987 Rose Bowl Football?
The ball has the U of M 1987 logo with two roses extending from the base of the M and the words "Rose Bowl" directly under. It is signed by (and the are authentic signatures) Bo Schembechler, Lloyd Carr, Jim Harbaugh, Cam Cameron, Billy Harris, and the majority of the rest of the 1987 team. Can we get an estimate on the value. It's in good condition.

Answer:-Its probably worth several hundred thousand dollars, but I will offer you $25.
  • Question:-Where do I start looking to book a trip to watch the Rose Bowl Parade?
My dad loves parades and the Rose Bowl Parade is on his bucket list. We are trying to plan a family trip for this NYE and aren't sure where to begin. There will be 3 families total - my parents, my sister and myself and 3-4 teenagers. Where do we stay? Where do we sit? Can we purchase spots in risers or should we camp out curbside? We attended the Macy's parade a few years ago Thanksgiving and were lucky enough to find a hotel on the parade route. Is that possible in Pasadena? Thanks

Answer:-Call a travel agent in your area to lineup your itinerary. It'll be much easier if you have them plan it for free. Then you can have a full cost for the trip so you can save your pennies. Another thing is if you have any desire to see the Rose Bowl game, forget it. You'll have to choose between the parade or game.
  • Question:-What is the G thing during the Rose Bowl?
If you were watching the Rose Bowl, there were about 2 or 3 commercials witth atheletes lined up and someone ( sounded like Lil Wayne ) in the background saying stuff and at the end a big G came onto the screen. Does anyone know what this is?

Answer:-No i though the same thing but i was stumped. A G is a gangster but that wasn't it. it was a COOL commercial though.
  • Question:-How late is the Rose Bowl in Pasadena CA open each night for running walking and jogging around the stadium?
What time do most people stop running walking and jogging around the Rose Bowl stadium at night?

Answer:-You know it's not IN the Rose Bowl, it's AROUND the Rose Bowl and the golf course, right? It's around the outside perimeter. Be sure to wear reflective clothing, since you're on the street at least part of the time.

This is a pdf that has info from the City of Pasadena about walking around the Rose Bowl, distances of the loops, advice, etc:
    http://cityofpasadena.net/trans/trafficoperations/pdf/WalkingAroundTheRoseBowl.pdf

    Walking in Pasadena project: http://www.upandmoving.org/

I'm not sure how late people walk around the Rose Bowl, but I think mostly they stop before about 10pm, not sure because it is likely different now that it is fall, last time I was there was during the summer about 8:30pm and there were lots of people.

    Have fun!
  • Question:-How do I watch the Rose Bowl in Puerto Vallarta?
I'm in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and want to watch the Rose Bowl very badly. We have SKY satellite TV at our condo. Does anyone know what channel this will be on or if it is even available. I would greatly appreciate any help. Thanks so much.

Answer:-Rose Bowl also have a lot of Mexican fans, maybe it'll be broadcasting in Spanish in the local channel or UNIVISION, if you want for the original English broadcasting, ask to your concierge in the CONDO or look for some Bar , maybe a taxidriver can help you, enjoy it!!!
  • Question:-how does the automatic bid for the rose bowl work?
so i hear oregon state has the automatic bid for the rose bowl right now over usc. if oregon state wins there next game against oregon will they get the bid to go to the rose bowl over usc?

if usc doesnt go to the rose bowl will they go to the holiday bowl, sun bowl, or the emerald bowl?

Answer:-If Oregon State wins next week they will be in the Rose Bowl against Penn State.

If Oregon State loses, then it will be USC vs. Penn State.

If USC doesn't make the Rose Bowl, they still have a shot at one of the at-large bid for the BCS bowl games.

Oregon State holds the tie-breaker with USC in the Pac 10 since they beat USC and because there is no conference championship game.
  • Question:-What lot has Motorcycle parking available at the Rose Bowl?
I am planning on going to the Americafest event at the Rose Bowl on July 4th. I know that parking is all based on what street you take to get into the bowl area. In order to plan my approach, I will need to figure out which lots have motorcycle parking in them. Does anyone know?

    http://www.rosebowlstadium.com/parking.php

    Thanks,
    William

Answer:-Sorry William, today is the 4th and no definate answer to your question. I guess you will just have take your chances or use another mode of transport. Good luck and enjoy your game!

lisfranc injury

  • Question:-Can you run with screws in you foot after a lisfranc injury?
I suffered a Lisfranc injury late last year. My surgeon wants to leave the screws in my foot (3 of them). Can anyone tell me is it possible to run and mountain climb again with screws remaining in my foot. Someone else out there has had to deal with this. Thanks

Answer:-You should ask your Doctor this question. I would say no from people I know who have had this surgery. But your Doctor may say yes, with certain precautions. But I wouldn't do any of those things until you have cleared it with him. I'm fairly sure that he would be able to send you to a Physio that would make you able to run again but again, I would not even try running until you have cleared it with him. Getting the surgery is usually not the last step in the healing process.
  • Question:-I have 2 questions about a lisfranc injury (with 3 screws put in)?
    1. My foot is swollen and still hurting 8 weeks after the injury happened. The doctor said it was fine to walk and put weight on.......Is there anything i can do to stop the pain or should i see a doctor and get it checked again.
    2. I want to know how long it will take for my foot to fully recover at the moment i cant walk far.....And it sucks cause i love walking.

Answer:-It is not unusual to have some residual swelling at this stage but it should be down from after the surgery. If it is still significantly swollen then the trip to the doctor is needed. If you are uncomfortable and want a direct answer to the questions you have then speak to the surgeon for that person was the only one working on the foot. The more you use it the more the pain will start to decrease. As for walking I suggest that you try walking in a swimming pool. Go to a level where the water is chest high and then walk. This will reduce the amount of stress on the foot by about 40%. As the foot get less painful start walking in slightly shallower water. Continue this until you are able to walk around in ankle deep water without problems. Also ride a stationary bike but don't use much resistance to the flywheel.
  • Question:-Does this sound like a Lisfranc injury?
I slipped in a puddle of water in front of my fridge. Having hardwood floors, the motion was VERY fast and smooth. Can't tell exactly how I landed on my foot but I'm 5'8 and weigh 175 lbs.
No pain in or near ankle. The EXCRUCIATING pain was across the top of the midfoot just before it's widest points. There is slight bruising on the underside of foot on side of big toe and top side of foot on side of pinkie toe. Horrible pain to move toes at all. This pain radiated up to my knee with the most severe point being behind the knee. Oddly, there was only slight pain when the injury first occurred and over the next 2 hours became absolutely unbearable causing me extreme embarrassment in the ER as I was literally writhing and crying in pain. No fracture seen. UNBELIEVABLE to me!!! But I was surprised when the ortho tech came in and applied a soft cast/half cast/splint thing up to my knee. This happened on 7/20 and I will call doc monday for f/u. Lisfranc was my own guess not doc

Answer:-It seems that you are already convinced that it is!
  • Question:-lisfranc injury, I have surgury in 1 week, need help?
    Hello,
My name is chazz and I am 16 years old. Im very good at snowboarding and will be entering the Dew Tours and if I win those ill will be invited to the x-games. But as I post this serious question now 4 hours ago I landed on my foot wrong and went threw the worst pain in my life. 20 minutes after injury I went to the hospital and I was diagnosed with a separation, dislocation, and torn I guess but lisfranc injury. My MRI is this friday and the following wednesday I have surgery. snowboarding school starts in 4 months will i be able to heal fully by then. are there any PT i could do to make it better and how really severe is this type of injury. I would love for someone that has experienced this injury or knows anything about it . please Im not dealing with this to well and its getting to me very mentally.

Answer:-Everyone heals at a difference pace so we can't say how long before you heal but most people heal in 4-6 months. I would drink lots of milk to get extra calcium in the bones so it has plenty of calcium for healing. Also get some Vitamin B Complex, it helps tissue, tendons, etc to heal faster. Take as directed on the bottle, no more, just as directed. Ask you Dr how long before it heals, they know more than anyone.
  • Question:-One of my friends said I might have a Lisfranc injury but I can mmove my toes/flex. bruised foot not toes heel

Answer:-The Lisfranc joint is the midfoot joint (not toes or heal). A Lisfranc injury could mean sprain, dislocation or fracture of the joint. If a Lisfranc sprain is minor, you would still have full function of your foot, just painful movement. If it is a true Lisfranc injury, you may need a cast or surgery.

Check out the information at Foot and Ankle Physicians: http://www.footphysicians.com/footankleinfo/lisfranc_injuries.htm

You should see an orthopedist who specializes in the foot and ankle for a proper diagnosis (a diagnosis from your "friend" is nowhere near enough).
  • Question:-Do you think it's a lisfranc injury?
A few weeks ago I was doing my usual 4 mile run then some jumping rope after. I think I was doing it wrong though, I was new to jump rope and was jumping on my toes almost (between my toes and the balls of my feet), which created this pain in the middle of my foot at the top. Now a few weeks on I still have it, just as bad, Haven't seen a doc at all, just went for a 20 minute walk and it was feeling quite sore for some reason. I'm really worried because I want to get back to training ASAP.I'm 19 if it makes any difference.

    Answer:-
  • Question:-Does anyone have info about lisfranc injuries?
I injured myself in mid July but no fracture noted. After going to a specialist 2 weeks ago it was diagnosed as a lisfranc injury. I was then told to wear the camboot till 9-28 and then take it from there. Well, when I went 2 weeks ago the majority of my pain had dissipated but I knew something was wrong being it did still hurt 6 weeks later but NOW 2 weeks after being in the boot, my foot is hurting quite a bit again!!! What happened? And now I no longer have hope that the boot will work. I'm pretty sure there is going to be further SOMETHING......possible surgery the doctor said with screws and pins .......AND THERE ISNT EVEN A VISIBLE FRACTURE!!! What is up with that!!! How can this be soo BIZARRE!!! Please help with ANY info about this injury you might have.

Answer:-Have a look at your other question about lisfranc foot injuries. I'm sure I've posted an answer for you.

    yeah - here it is
  • Question:-foot injury please help?
okay i went to the doctor yesterday and he said he thinks i have a lisfranc injury and thinks i might need surgery i was wondering if anyone has had this injury before i have taken a picture of my foot to show u what it looks like it doesn't show the swelling very well though. My symptoms are sever pain in mid-foot and sometimes my big toe goes numb my foot is somewhat bruised and i cannot put any weight on it all all with out it hurting like hell and my foot has got wide my foot also has some discoloration sometimes here is the photo

http://pulse.yahoo.com/_CKFCB55ACIOIBZ7OWDETPJMJFI/album/photos/265646 it is the one on the left

    Answer:-
  • Question:-Does an injury requireing the black boot hurt worse then before when you remove it?
6 weeks ago I injured my foot. No fracture. Lisfranc sprain its called and now I'm in a black boot thing. I was only having having minimal pain before the boot it had been so long but after only half a day now of this thing I took it off to drive my son somewhere and it hurt like hell!!!!

Answer:-Two things commonly happen with the CAM walker...or "black boot."

    1. We really forget how much pain we were 6 weeks ago and now we think it is "worse," when it may not necessarily be so.

    2. The patient wears the boot for 6 weeks which allows the sprain to heal. Yet, in the meantime, other components of the foot/ankle complex begin to tighten because the CAM walker alters our mechanics so that we do not necessarily need to use our range of motion to capacity. Therefore, when the patient comes out of it and resumes normal mechanics or walking and activity (such as driving a car), these "tightened" structures are called upon. These resrictions frequently cause sharp pain, especially across the top of the ankle because the normal biomechanics between the talus and talar dome have becomed tightened. It may take some time...a few days perhaps, for this to feel significantly better. If it does not, return to your orthopedist who may refer you to physical therapy to mobilizes the sub-talar joint.
  • Question:-Considering chiropractic treatment for a Lisfranc's Fracture that occurred almost a year ago.?
On July 27, 2008 I missed a step while walking into our basement. I thought I could just "walk it off," but after a few weeks, I realized that I needed to get some treatment. Treatment was delayed until December because we adopted a baby boy and I didn't have time to think about my foot. In mid-Dec. I got a boot. I wore the boot for three months. In the middle of that time, I had an MRI that suggested the Lisfranc's Fracture was still present and there was damage to the tendon that is below my ankle. The doctor said no surgery was needed. I wore the boot for six more weeks. Then the doctor put me in a fiberglass cast for six weeks. The cast came off and I did 4 weeks of physical therapy. There has been no change in pain level (it still hurts when I walk on it and even as I'm sleeping) and my ankle is continually swollen. The doctor now says surgery is the only other option. I'd like to consider chiropractic treatment for this injury instead of going the route of surgery. Has anyone had success with chiropractic treatment for Lisfranc's Fracture?

Answer:-The best thing you can do is see a competent osteopath who is trained in manipulation therapy (I know one in the bay area, and depending on where you live, I might be able to find someone in your area). Surgery is completely uncessary for your condition, however very few allopathic doctors are familiar with adjustment treatments.
While I advocate seeing an osteopath, I'm really not sure if a chiropractor would be able to fix this type of problem or if they'd make it worse. It's not within their standard treatment system and I've never talked to someone that saw a chiropractor for this.

Alternatively, while it won't fix the problem completely, if you buy some DMSO and apply it to the area it will get rid of the inflammation, pain and heal some of the tissue damage. If you couple that with not walking on it for a while it may fix itself on it's own.
If you actually want to go the DMSO route, message me and I'll tell you the big things you need to watch for with that.
    Hope that helps!

walking dead

  • Question:-How could that guy in The Walking Dead TV series survive in a coma that long?
Based on the dead flowers and a few other things, he was in a coma for a few weeks with no life support. So how did he survive that long? If you have no idea what i'm talking about watch The Walking Dead show.

Answer:-He was never on life support (you don't need life support if you are shot in the shoulder) so he obviously could survive indefinitely long (he would need food and water though), and flowers can die in less than a week esp. store bought flowers, if they don't get water (which i'm assuming they didn't get from the zombies) So he was probably only out for a few days and he didn't need life support.
  • Question:-What is the difference between all the Walking Dead comics?
After watching The Walking Dead on AMC, I decided to start collecting and reading all the comics. I bought the first volume (Days Gone Bye) and noticed on the shelf that there were hardcover books as well. When I checked online, I saw the regular comics and countless different hardcover books of the series. It's got me really confused on what to buy? Will I be missing out on anything if I just get the single volume paperback comics? Do the hardcover editions have any bonuses or extra things that the regular comics don't?

Answer:-Some of the hard covers have bonus stuff but i'm not sure what lol sorry
  • Question:-What is the release date for the Walking Dead season 1 DVD?
My brother really likes the TV Show 'The Walking Dead,' its the first series he's actually been interested in greatly in over three years. It would be the perfect gift for him. If you know the release date for when the season 1 of the Walking Dead series on DVD, please help me out and tell me whether or not it is available for purchase before Christmas.

    Answer:-March 8 and amazon is taking pre-orders
  • Question:-How long was the main character from The Walking Dead in a coma?
I've been watching the new show The Walking Dead. In the first episode he woke up from a coma after being shot and after the zombie outbreak happened. So how long was he in a coma for? How long after he fell into the coma did the zombie outbreak happen? I don't think it said in the show but maybe it did in the comics since it is based off the comic series.

Answer:-Edit: According to the show's website, About the Show section, he was only in a coma for a few weeks. "Waking up in an empty hospital after weeks in a coma, County Sheriff Rick Grimes..."

I would think someone at the hospital would have kept up on the beard, so it would have been when things got really crazy before they stopped.

As far as the flowers, they typically go from living to dead quickly, but they may have dried out if they were not watered. dried flowers do not look that different over time.

I agree on the wife thing. Either it has been a while and she mourned the husband, was cheating on him before he was shot with his partner (usually the case in cop shows), or she was glad to get rid of him. The last two are more likely as they were fighting, per the main character in the pilot.

Now that he has the group from the camp that she is part of, it is only a matter of time before they meet up again and the fecal matter hits the bladed air moving apparatus.

Most likely, because the people in the city were trapped, the camp would have moved on and they will have to look for them. This will draw out the reunion, allow us to see more about the relationship between his wife and partner and add to the drama of the reveal.

I like the show, but the "new" couple are not my favorite characters at the moment.
  • Question:-What is the next volume to buy after the walking dead compendium volume 1?
I can not find out what the next book or volume is called. I looked up the walking dead compendium volume 2 but that doesn't seem to exist. Volume one is vol 1- 48 so I next volumes 49-72. Please let me know. Thank you

    Answer:-Hey there!

I had that same question today as I bought #1 for a friend and was looking for #2. I wrote the editor and got back this reply:

There isn't a second compendium yet. The first compiles issues 1-48, and we've a ways to go before we have enough material for the second one. (Book two will eventually be issues 49-96; we're only on issue 80 as of this month.)

    -e.s.

    ------------------------------------------------

Makes sense since they dont even have enough issues for #2 yet. And it will probably be over a year from now since they are right now on #80.
  • Question:-Will I be totally lost if I start reading The Walking Dead in the middle?
I'm sure fans of the comic know about the tv series based on The Walking Dead coming to AMC on halloween, and I regretfully didn't pick it up sooner. I'm considering picking up the compendium but it's like $80 on Amazon. Is it okay to just start reading the comic book series in the middle though or should I start from the beginning?

Answer:-yes you will be lost and miss out on A LOT of the story

plus you'll be confused as to why certain characters act a certain way

    SPOILER
for example, why rick talks to himself on the phone
  • Question:-What should you do if someone is walking dead slow in front of you?
What should you do if someone is walking dead slow in front of you at a mall? Do you just pass them or wait?
I normally wait but by that time, I am ticked off...

Answer:-If you can go around them easily, then just do so without saying anything.

If you cannot go around them, and they are blocking your path, then you should say "Excuse me, may I pass please?" Then pass by when they make way for you.

If, for some reason they don't stop to let you by, then say a second time "Excuse me, may I pass please? I'm in a hurry." If that doesn't work, then they're being the rude person. You'll just have to wait and feel "ticked off". Just remember, the best way to respond to rudeness is not at all, but if you have to, be polite and kind. Nothing gets to a rude person more than seeing the recipient of their rudeness remain unfazed.
  • Question:-Who thinks Norman Reedus is going to die in the Walking Dead?
Norman Reedus is my favorite actor and he is guest staring in the Walking Dead as Daryl Dixon.
It just hit me that if he is a guest that means that he is going to die!?
How do you think he would die?

Answer:-I share your worry. He is not only a guest actor but his character is not even in the comics. His chances for being killed off are very high.

However, the show's audience has responded very postively to his character. Reedus has also been recognized by tv critics for his performance. Then again...

I never thought they would kill off Jeremy Davies or Elizabeth Mitchell's characters in LOST. They were both loved by fans and critics. But they still got killed. *sadface*

How would Daryl die? I imagine Daryl would go out fighting. Maybe swarmed by zombies and using his crossbow as a weapon till he gets eaten.
  • Question:-What song is playing at the end of the first episode of The Walking Dead?
What song is playing at the end of the first episode of The Walking Dead?

    Answer:-Space Junk by Wang Chung

  • Question:-In the movie i am legend and the amc the walking dead what caused the infections?
that and when will the walking dead be on again? will it still be summer?

Answer:-In the movie I am Legend the infection is caused by a supposed shot that cured cancer. Little did they know that it turned you into a zombie afterwords.

In the Walk Dead I'm trying to remember... I don't know if they ever say the cause, but I know they look for the cure. And from my understanding there is no plan for the Walking Dead to come back :(
