Drew Brees and the saints play the GB Packers week 1, which may lower Drew Brees numbers. Matt Stafford and the Lions play Tampa Bay, so I think Matt Stafford will light up that defense. What do you think? Should I start Stafford in week 1?
  
  Answer:-I'm from Detroit, but I'm not a fanatic Lions fan. I would start Stafford, he is looking great this preseason and he really killed it when he did play last season. I expect Stafford to put up over 350 yard and 2-3 TD's against TB. I don't think Brees will do that against GB. The Saints have a reworked line and they are more dedicated to the run this season. Also, Colston is still recovering from knee injury and Lance Moore (#3 WR) is suffering from a groin injury. GB is not going to let Brees throw to the TE all day like he did during the preseason. I'd go Stafford all the way!

• Question:-How does Jay Cutler play so well behind such a terrible offensive line and with a bad offense?
  Let's face it the way he played last night was the only reason why the Bears were able to hang in there with the Lions last night. If he had a better o-line and some weapons he'd probably be even better and maybe so would the Bears. Jay Cutler has sort of earned my respect a bit because of that. *Tips my hat off to the guy*.

  The Bears will be upgrading their team through free agency and through the draft. Signing Orlando Pace was a great start. Matt Forte & Cutler will help eachother out. The Bears receivers are nothing special right now, but hopefully Earl Bennett will step up as he has a history with Cutler. Hester is a great deep threat to compliment Cutler's strong arm. I think someone like Brian Robiski from Ohio State would help the Bears out the most, along with a vet like Tory Holt if he doesn't sign somewhere else.

  If he did in fact take drugs, which is increasingly appearing likely, then what they gain is getting a dangerous driver off of the track, and showing that their policy is helping the overall sport.
  The only thing that would make NASCAR look bad is if after all this the courts still side with Mayfield. That would show that NASCAR doesn't have its act together in enforcing drug policies and testing.

  Could someone please explain what is meant in Nascar when they say tramsmissions have to have a 1 to 1 ratio. Please bear in mind I am only just getting into Nascar and don't have much experience with cars. Many thanks for any answers.
  
  Answer:-Let me use a GM M20 manual shift transmission as an example.
  
  In a M20 manual transmission when you take off in first gear you have a gear ratio of "2.56 to 1" meaning the front of the transmission (the side bolted to the engine) turns 2.56 revolutions and the rear of the transmission turns only 1 revolution.
  
  When you shift to second the gear ratio changes to a "1.91 to 1" gear ratio which makes the car move even faster. That ratio means the front of the transmission turns 1.90 revolutions and the rear of the transmission turns 1 revolution.
  
  When you shift into third gear the gear ratio changes to a "1.48 to 1" gear ratio meaning the front of the transmission turns 1.48 revolutions and the rear of the transmission turns 1 revolution making the car go even faster.
  
  And finally when in 4th gear the M20 manual shift transmission has a "1 to 1" gear ratio meaning that both the front and rear of the transmission is turning the same amount of revolutions making the car go the fastest for a this particular transmission.
  
  Now cars that have transmissions with "overdrive" may have a fifth gear that may have a gear ratio more than a "1 to 1" ratio. A car with an overdrive may have a gear ratio of ".78 to 1" meaning the front of the transmission only turns .78 of a turn when the rear of the transmission turns 1 full revolution.

If the Cowboys or Rams couldnt win it though, I would like to see the Bears go all the way, Cutler deserves it after all the crap he's gotten and I've always liked Urlacher.

  The Bears will be upgrading their team through free agency and through the draft. Signing Orlando Pace was a great start. Matt Forte & Cutler will help eachother out. The Bears receivers are nothing special right now, but hopefully Earl Bennett will step up as he has a history with Cutler. Hester is a great deep threat to compliment Cutler's strong arm. I think someone like Brian Robiski from Ohio State would help the Bears out the most, along with a vet like Tory Holt if he doesn't sign somewhere else.

  Answer:-Schaub averaged 320 YPG passing the last 4 games of '08 and has one of the best receivers and receiving tight ends in the game at his disposal.
  Cutler is a quality QB but has no proven targets other than Forte. Schaub gets the nod until Cutler proves himself with the Bears.

  Answer:-VY is a champion, a true player pure and simple. He has assumed the leadership role on a very young team that has experienced some offseason issues ranging from PacMan's problems to Lendale wanting to play lineman. hahahahhahahhaha Well he did shoot up to 260 something lbs. Young is tough. He is a hardworker and has taken all of the issues this year with great stride. Losing Drew Bennett and other recievers certainly didn't do anything to improve the situation in Nashville. I am hoping he can develop a chemistry with who he has. There are still some pretty talented young guys on this Titan's team like Ben Troupe at TE, recently acquired reciever Justin Gage (whom played with a similar style qb at Mizzou), and veteran David Givens has the oppurtunity to be a star. Win a trophy with another franchise.
  
  Defense should be better. Kyle Vanden Bosch is a monster and big Haynesworth won't be missing too many games this year, God willing. Nick Harper from the Colts may be just what the doctor ordered in these rough times without PacMan. Also, hopefully, Michael Griffin could pan out. Though he has a lot to prove he was worth that first round draft choice.
  
  I don't think the Titans and Vince will just flounder. I believe the team will struggle. They play in a divison with the Colts and Jaguars. I think these rough years though is what will make the Titans a force to reckon with in the future. Vince will be able to build chemistry this year with a lot of younger guys as eager to win as he is.

  Answer:-He got knocked out of bounds. It really wasn't anything you could see. Leg muscle injuries are funny. Sometimes you can play with them. Sometimes you miss a couple of games. Sometimes it will affect you until next season.

  Maybe if the titans would have started Vince Young early in the season the Titans might have made playoffs this year. I don't think they would have gone this year though.

  It is a possiblity. I believe it will take at least 2 more full seasons. First he will need some playoff expereince. Also in two years he can become comfortable with the offensive playbook as well as become better at reading coverages.

Young has had some success and deserves the full confidence of an organization to go out and play 16 regular season games (if healthy of course) before he is written off. The Cardinals are definitely in a position to give him that opportunity.

  Answer:-McGahee could win the starting job for the Broncos. John Fox will use a RBBC and both McGahee and Moreno should see plenty of touches in the offense. Even if McGahee is not the starter his nose for the endzone should make him the team's number one option when they get near touchdown. McGahee has the ability and the opportunity to end the season as a top 25 fantasy RB.

  Answer:-McGahee all day. Fred Jackson is good, but you have to realize that he New England run defense isnt that great (very very young and in-experienced core). I think that if he were to go up against a half way decent defense, I can see him doing alright, but not spectacular. He is a middle of the road player and will get touches, but will see his time significantly damper once Marshawn Lynch comes back after week 3. I cant see Buffalo splitting time evenly either between them, as Lynch is a beast.
  
  McGahee is going against a weak Cinci defense today and is the man when it comes to converting in the red zone. Ray Rice/McClain will have most of the yardage on the ground today, but I would expect McGahee to have 50+ all purpose yards and one of two td's.

  Aaron Rodgers plays the Bears, Cam plays the Jags. Ive been starting Rodgers every week but Cam has been more efficient.
  
  Answer:-I have the same decision having picked up Newton off waivers. The other comments are based on general rules about "must-start" players, and rookie mistakes, but we're talking fantasy match-ups here, not winning football games. Newton may cool off some, but he's learning a lot in a hurry and he outscored our Rodgers in each of the first two weeks with less favorable match-ups than what we've got in week 3. Look at AR's numbers against the Bears in recent games: okay but below his usual output. What logic says the Jag's secondary will do a superior job to what Green Bay and Arizona did against Newton, picks and all. If Newton runs for one touchdown, that offsets 2-3 picks in a damn hurry. Hell, one twenty yard scramble erases two picks.
• Question:-Is it possible that Aaron Rodgers is the best quarterback in the NFL?
  Everyone says Manning, Brady, and Brees are better, but Aaron Rodgers seems to be on top of his game and his team beat 4 of the best teams in the NFL to win the Super Bowl last season. If Green Bay gets their running game going in 2011 I don't see anyone beating them. I am a Falcon fan and I think Matt Ryan may become the best one day, but I think it is Rodgers now.
  
  Answer:-Rodgers actually has the highest career passer rating of all time. He needs to continue being excellent for a while though before he can legitimately be compared to Manning or Brady. I personally don't think he'll ever be as good as Manning though because Manning doesn't just execute plays but calls his own as well and can read defenses better than anyone. That's actually why I kind of have mixed feelings about Brady too. He can execute plays very well but just doesn't have the deep understanding of the game like Manning. Rodgers actually does seem to have a really deep understanding of it but idk. Like I said - time will tell. He could definitely become the best to play the position but I'll believe it only if he keeps it up.
  
  BTW I am probably biased because I'm a Colts fan but I wouldn't deny solid proof if he did end up better than Manning one day.

  I know this season Rodgers has had the slight edge over Brady but tradtionally Brady has been the better quarterback and this week Rodgers is going up against a terrible Detroit defense, there's only one defense worse at defending the pass, and that's the Titans. And guess who's playing the Titans this week, it's Brady.
  
  Answer:-Rodgers against a terrible DET defense. Brady is always a good start but he needs to step it up.

  Answer:-You must live somewhere warm. Maybe because all of us east coasters are miserable during the winter months and basketball is the one thing I look forward to during the week. It gives me something to watch and keeps me entertained on those cold winter nights. People are more likely to sit in their house in the winter and watch the games. Summer nights people can go out and enjoy the weather. That might have nothing to do with the real reason, but that is my rational. Also, basketball players do have a spoiled lifestyle, and they get the summer months off if you think about it. They probably don't want the winter months off - they get the summer off.

  To me watching college basketball is a big drop off compared to Nba games. So if the season is lost there will be nowhere else to see high level bball.

  Answer:-Yeah, it was the 1998-99 season. Due to a lockout, the season did not start until February 5, 1999 after a new six year Collective Bargaining Agreement was reached between the NBA and the National Basketball Players Association. All 29 teams played a shortened 50 game regular season schedule, and the 16 teams who qualified for the playoffs played a full post-season schedule.
  
  I remember that well, and I was pissed because all the squabbling over money. I remember thinking that there wasn't going to be a season at all. The San antonio Spurs won the championship over the New York Knicks 4-1.

  Seems like alot of "anaylist" are raving about Matt Schaub's Potential to be a starter, and many are predicting that he will be traded in the off-season, due to his restricted free agent contract expiring. I've seen Schaub perform on the field, and I must say I'm impressed, but only to a certain extent. Which team do you think he will be traded to?
  
  Maybe the Oakland Raiders? I don't think Mr. Davis will draft a QB, but he might take a chance on trading for Matt Schaub....but then again....maybe not...
  
  Perhaps the Cleevland Browns?....They might take a chance on drafting hometown favorite Troy Smith, but the last thing the Browns need is another inexperiecned QB. so trading for Matt Schaub might make sense.

  Answer:-I'd say Oakland is out of the picture. I'd say Oakland is hands-down the team that most needs a high-potential prospect at quarterback, especially one that's spent a couple years in the NFL (albeit mainly on the bench). I'd even go so far as to say it would be an excellent fit for both sides, given that Schaub would likely start immediately and the Raiders would finally have a passing threat. With all that said, the Raiders won't do it, because they're... well, the Raiders. Al Davis seems to love taking a chance on guys who are just slightly past their prime or have had questionable performances in other venues. Schaub probably isn't even a blip on their radar. Damon Huard will end up a Raider before Schaub will.
  
  I'm a Falcons fan and I like Schaub. I think he's a great prospect who could have bigtime QB potential. I don't want to see him in another jersey next year, because let's face it - say he's as good as some of the analysts think - the Falcons are already hearing it about taking Vick ahead of LT. What if Schaub is the next Favre, or Brady? I mean, we already let the last Favre go!
  
  I think the teams looking to actually sign Schaub could be the Raiders (but it won't happen), the Lions and maybe even Jacksonville. I think the Panthers will be interested as well, but Schaub would likely be relegated to a backup role there for a couple of years, and I think he's looking for a starting gig.
  
  Odds are, he's in a Lions uniform to start the season. Will be great to see what he'll be like in that offense - I think with the right QB, that team will be tough to defend.

  Denver is playing a great defensive team this week NYG, but so is Matt Schaub. KC defended pretty good againt the Colts last week. Klye Orton did put up some point even against the Ravens last week.
  
  Answer:-Don't over think this. Stick with Orton until either A. Shaub shows he is the QB we've known him to be when healthy, right now he's flat or B. Orton proves us wrong. He will produce regardless of the matchup.

  Answer:-Id go with Schuab, Foster was used in week 1 to keep manning off the field, thats the only reason they used him so much. Now in Week 2 he'll set up great play action now that foster is a big threat.
  
  Im watching the Ravens game now and the Jets arent having any type of passing game at all. Although Palmer does have Owens and Ochocinco, you do have to remember that the patriots arent a very good passing defence so he wont have nearly as many points this week.

  Answer:-Schaub averaged 320 YPG passing the last 4 games of '08 and has one of the best receivers and receiving tight ends in the game at his disposal.
  Cutler is a quality QB but has no proven targets other than Forte. Schaub gets the nod until Cutler proves himself with the Bears.

  Answer:-Normally I would start Peyton every week unless he has a bye, but considering Peyton will not have his number 2 WR this week, I think Schaub will have a better game against the Jag's defense. Andre Johnson has developed into one of the best WR in the league.

  Answer:-Pittsburgh has consistently been exploited by passing teams for the last couple years, the only times they successfully stop it is when they get good pressure which hasn't been as good as it has been in years past most likely due to James Harrison coming off back surgery.   i'm starting to see how fantasy football can be a challenging strategic game!
  
  Answer:-Schaub has thrown for less that 200 yards in 3 out of 5 games this year, and now he's facing a KC defense that shut down Peyton Manning (I lost cause he got me less than 10 pts in my league, which is not going to cut it), and is only allowing 14 ppg. He is also without his starting LT, Duane Brown (4 week suspension, 2 more weeks to go), and he has struggled without him.
  
  McNabb, meanwhile, has thrown for almost 1400 yards in 5 games (about 280 ypg). He is facing a Colts D that is poor vs the run, but will be keying on it, so I think he will be able to hit on some deep throws, and hopefully some TDs, which have been lacking (only 4 through 5 games).
  
  Also, the Colts are missing two safeties: projected starter Bob Sanders, and his replacement, the up-and-coming Melvin Bullitt (btw watch the Colts cut Sanders in the off-season, they are really frustrated with his susceptibility to injuries). Thus, they will be starting the 4th string safety (they probably signed a free-agent or something as a backup). So start McNabb over Schaub with confidence.
  
  EDIT-Bethea is actually expected to play--but start McNabb anyways. Schaub, i my mind, has to prove himself again.
