Answer:-I had the angels card and ended up closing my account. The APR rate on retail cards is ridiculous so whatever you save with coupons you end up spending on interest. bank transfer day

  • Question:-Today is "Bank Transfer Day" where you punish the banks and move your account to a credit union -- will you?
Google "bank transfer day" for link.
@Kevin: Thank you. :) Are you serious about where you keep your money?

Answer:-I already have my accounts at a credit union even though I work for a bank.
  • Question:-When is 'bank transfer day' and should I be buying a new mattress?
    *sarcasm

    - where are they planning on keeping all that dough?

Answer:-What "dough" they can't transfer their college loans debt from one bank to another LOL
  • Question:-Are you going to participate/or know about Bank Transfer day November 5th?
I just found this on Facebook as part of the movement people feel big banks are screwing us so they are taking their money out of the "big" six banks and putting it in local not-for-profit credit unions? What is this all about ? Is this a good idea? What do you think?

Answer:-I've used a credit union for fifteen years, I haven't had a single fee for anything in all that time, I bank online, pay all my bills online, its all free. Even my debit and credit card.
Of course, I'm responsible too, no overages, no bounced checks, no lines of credit.
Oh, and I get a shareholders amount too once a year, they pay me.
Federal Credit unions don't have FDIC, so you do have to make sure they have the deposits covered by their insurance group.

Government hasn't made the banks charge customers for taking their own money out at ATM, I have no charge for that either as long as I use another credit unions ATM. Government hasn't created debit card fees, or check charges or other fees and charges that can suck up as much as six hundred a year for the average user. Its greedy corporate banks that do that.
Pointing to government for someone else's charges is nonsense.
  • Question:-Why did they pick a Saturday to do the bank transfer day?
    Does anyone know why?

Answer:-Who the hell knows, OWS is about as organized as a chinese fire drill. By the way, has any of you OWS idiots thought about what a run on the banks will do for the economy? Seems to me that's how Chuckie Schumer got the TARP issue going. Oh wait. Never mind. OWS people don't have any money. They don't work. Transferring empty accounts won't matter.

    A Good Move!!!

    http://news.yahoo.com/bank-transfer-day-attracts-81-900-rsvps-facebook-123240712.html

    Answer:-
  • Question:-What do you think of "Bank Transfer Day"?
    Taken from Facebook: "
Together we can ensure that these banking institutions will always remember the 5th of November. If we shift our funds from the for-profit banking institutions in favor of not-for-profit credit unions before this date, we will send a clear message that conscious consumers won't support companies with unethical business practices. It's time to invest in local community growth!

    • Research your local credit union options
    • Open an account with the one that best suits your needs
    • Cancel all automatic withdrawals & deposits
    • Transfer your funds to the new account
    • Follow your bank's procedures to close your account before 11/05"

seems like a good idea I guess......

  • Question:-If I transfer money from my paypal tmrw and pay £5 for next day transfer will it go into my bank on a sat?
I am willing to pay £5 for next day transfer will this money go into my bank account on the saturday?
I know its not technically 'a working day' but I am with Natwest bank and this is open on a saturday.

    Any advice will be appreciated.

Answer:-No it will not. It won't be credited to your bank until Monday. Just because the retail end of the bank is open doesn't mean the back office is. And the electronic wire system PayPal and the bank uses doesn't operate on the weekend.

  • Question:-At what time of the day is the on-line bank account updated after receiving a transfer?
I was sent a bit of money from Italy to here(UK) through a bank transfer. It was put on Tuesday afternoon and I am thinking it would be sent by next monday because it wasn't still there on friday night. At what time will it be in the account and showing in my on-line account?

Answer:-Evidently, your capital letters = SARCASM, STEVEN F.
Despite this, it will take anything up to 24 hours.
  • Question:-Is there a way to make my 3-4 day paypal transfer to my bank account faster?
I needed to transfer about $100 from my paypal to my bank account. Something came up, and I need it before then. Is there a way to get my money faster? Send it to myself as a gift or something? I'm trying to get a paypal debit card, but I'm having trouble and it won't happen fast enough.

Answer:-As far as I know there is no way around, if your bank has a better system (like BOA) you may be able to see it as "pending" a day before that with other banks like Wachovia
  • Question:-How can I transfer money from one bank account to another on the same day?
I have two accounts at different banks, and one is over drawn. My other account is with ING, and ING only allows ACH transfers that take two business days. I am not about to physically go to the bank to deposit money, so I need some way to immediately transfer money into that account online. Anyway suggestions? Please help!
Oh, I'm in the U.S., btw.
I can't go to EITHER branch, unfortunately :/

Answer:-you can go to your branch and do a wire transfer. it may cost between 20-30 bucks, but wires are sent the same day if it's done before a certain time. maybe 4 p.m. you'll need your account and routing number. it's pretty simple, and it's the easiest way at getting funds to your other bank account without going there.
  • Question:-How many days does a Bank of America transfer take to hit my Chase bank account?
Friend sent it via B of A 3 business day transfer on Saturday 3/19 and it still is not in my Chase account today 3/24. She is traveling and I am unable to reach her, should I be concerned or is this the norm?

Also, when I do transfer to other banks using my Chase account they post the next day, so I don't think it is Chase holding things up...

Answer:-Banks do not process these on Saturdays or Sundays.
So it processed her bank on Monday.
After that it takes about 3 business days.
If it does not show up tommorrow, something went wrong.

Next time have her mail you a check.
This prevents errors and you can make sure you are getting your money.
Note, a lot of people say they send money and never send it.

When you transfer to other banks it may be faster.
IF both accounts are under your name generally transfers take about a day..
  • Question:-What is the maximum limit one can transfer money from US bank accounts per day, month and year? Thanks?

Answer:-There is no limit when you transfer money within the US or overseas. Transfers are only subject to the Bank Secrecy Act, which tries to prevent money laundering, tax evasion, and other criminal activity. Every transaction over $10,000 is reported to a federal authority. "Suspicious" transactions are also reported. For example, if you want to avoid the $10,000 limit and you transfer $9,000 a few times within a short period of time, these transactions will be deemed "suspicious" and therefore reported. If you have nothing to hide and you do legitimate business, there is no problem transferring more than $10,000. I have done it many times within the US and also overseas.

home affordable refinance program

  • Question:-Can we be able to qualify for the Home Affordable Refinance Program?
My wife and i are both in college, and we have a house that we are renting out in another state, we only make 1460 between ourselves each month, and we get 1485 for the renting of the house. Our mortgage payment is 1900. the loan is an interest only loan at 6.525% with 27 years left. Our loan is owned by Fannie Mae. Is there any reason that we wouldn't qualify for HARP?

Answer:-So you're a couple people in college and you buy an expensive home on credit that you can't afford....

As someone who's taken a large hit due to the home bubble, and is paying the taxes to subsidize the people who can't or won't take the hit themselves, I'm not too happy about it.

You're still paying your bills though, so I give you respect for that.

Anyway, to give you a serious answer... I bet you could qualify. And you should definitely do it as it will make your mortgage situation much better. And I'd rather you do that than default and cause even more problems for everybody else. The catch is that it may be considered an investment property, but I bet it can still be qualified.
  • Question:-home affordable refinance program vs home affordable modification program?
what is the difference between the two?

Answer:-Q: I believe there was a material error in your recent article concerning President Obama's Making Home Affordable Program.

First, eligibility for a HAMP loan does not depend on the loan being owned or serviced by Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac. For loans that are so owned there are some separate additional programs under HAMP such as the ability to refinance underwater loans.

Moreover, Fannie and Freddie are agents for Treasury to help Treasury administer the HAMP Program. But HAMP in large measure initially was designed to address non-conforming conventional loans, such as subprime loans. Second, the eligible loan amount is $729,750, not $417,000 as you wrote.

A: Thank you for writing. The column in question did contain those errors (thanks for setting the record straight). But there’s more to the story, so let’s start at the top.

President Obama’s Making Home Affordable Program generally permits certain borrowers to work with their lenders to either obtain a loan modification or to refinance their loan. Effectively, there are two programs, which can make it confusing for homeowners.

    Making Home Affordable Loan Modification

Of the 4 million homeowners that President Obama predicted would be eligible to have their mortgages modified, about one million homeowners have received temporary loan modifications, but just 116,000 (as of January, 2010) have received permanent modifications.

If a borrower decides to go down the loan modification path, the borrower has to meet certain financial criteria, including whether the home is the borrower’s primary residence; whether the first mortgage on the home is equal to or less than $729,750; whether the homeowner is having trouble paying the mortgage; whether the current mortgage was obtained before January 1, 2009; and, whether the amount you pay on your first mortgage, including, principal, interest, taxes insurance and homeowner’s association dues, is more than 31 percent of your current gross income.
  • Question:-Home Affordable Refinance Program late requirements?
According to the guidelines the HARP program doesn't allow a 30 day late in the last 12 months. I had a 30 day late in August 2010. Just for clarification, does that mean I can qualify for the program next month (September)?

Answer:-It is up to the bank. I am surprised they disqualified you on that alone.
  • Question:-Refinance under Obama home affordable program?
We just got a letter from our lender (Wells Fargo) letting us know that occupancy must remain the same as when loan was first originated, which was primary residence. We lived there for 3 years and after that we had to move there my father in law.We live somewhere else.We are paying for everything as he doesn't have sufficient income to support himself. Are we still eligible?

    Answer:-
  • Question:-Is is true that if you have PMI that you cannot refinance under the Making Home Affordable program?
i was told my Wells Fargo whom i currently have my home loan with and when i asked them about the program they said that i did not qualify because i have private mortgage insurance.

Answer:-yes, it's true. you can still refinance, but not under the new higher loan to values w/out PMI program.
  • Question:-Making Homes Affordable Refinance Program?
I need some clarification on this program. I am not in any hardship, but I do have a Fannie Mae loan. Currently, I am in a 5-year ARM and it is up in May of 2010. My rate is 5.375% and it would go down to approximately 5.1%.

Today I finally got somewhere with my lender CitiMortgage. We started to look at the refinance option and I would have $4,600 rolled over into my existing loan for closing costs and $460 out of my pocket for an application fee which includes an appraisal. My payment would be only be $12 lower per month, but my rate would be locked.

For some reason the numbers don't add up to me. The closing costs and fees seem to high. Am I missing something with this program?

Answer:-First, I can't tell if $4,600 is high without knowing how much your mortgage is worth. On a refinance there are still significant transaction costs.

You need to get a "good faith estimate" from the lender. When you look at it, figure out which costs are "fixed" - i.e. charges by your state for recording a mortgage, costs for pre-paid taxes and insurance (should be low on a re-fi as most of that stuff is already escrowed hopefully).

Then, figure out how much of the "cost" is fees and/or padding. A "fair" fee is somplace between 1% and 3% of the total amount of your loan. So if your loan is for $100,000 then the lender might charge you between 1,000 and 3,000 as a "fee" - sometimes they say their fee is lower or non-existent - but, trust me, they are getting their fee some way - they may be calling a discount point or service release premium or something - but they are getting it.

Short story made long - pour over that settlement statement (also known as a HUD-1) and ask questions questions questions about ANYTHING you don't understand. If your lender balks at your questions, walk away.

Second, I would shop around before settling on CitiMortgage - just because they are your current lender does not mean that they will necessarily give you the best rate.

One thing to try is to go with an up-front lender like Amerisave that shows you guaranteed costs and fees breakdown long before the actual refinance.

Finally, the Making Homes Affordable Refinance Program has nothing to do with closing costs. It is all about negotiating with lenders over principal and interest. There are lenders out there making a KILLING off the fees in these things. That is why you need to GRILL your loan officer.
  • Question:-can I refinance with other bank under the Home Affordable program?

Answer:-You can try, but remember no bank, including yours, is obligated to do anything for you. They only receive small incentives from the Feds under this program IF they decided to help you. I would contact as many banks as you can until you get someone willing to refi you!
  • Question:-With the Making Home Affordable program, can I be denied loan modification if I already refinanced last year?
Only about 8 months ago Bank of America solicited me and offered to refinance my mortgage with the government "Making Home Affordable" program. I was struggling and it made perfect sense so I did it. Now things have gotten even worse for me and I've been working with a credit councilor to try to avoid bankruptcy. He suggested that I call the HUD and ask them about a loan modification. I spoke quickly with someone today, not an actual HUD councilor, that said that because I already refinanced with the program, that I'm not eligible to do a loan modification through it. Is this true!? If so, what options do I have? Can I get a loan modification without the government program? The credit councilor said that my housing costs should be about 30% of my income, and right now mine are 61%. I have absolutely no savings so I have to assume that I'm qualified for a modification.

Answer:-No, you are not qualified, if you are at 61% a modification would not help you. You are already at the program interest anyway, the bank can not lower it enough to make a difference.
  • Question:-If I quit my job, would I qualify for Obama's Making Home Affordable mortgage refinancing program?
If I quit my job, would I be able to qualify for the program since I would have less than 31% of my monthly income and be unable to pay for my monthly mortgage paymentgs? The program is unclear on what a hardship is, and if you have to be laid off or fired. What prevents people from just quitting their job to qualify for the program, then get another one once they are accepted and put on the plan?
Note - This is what I'm trying to confirm if its true or not "Plus, if you quit your job, your lender isn't going to modify your loan because your hardship is your own fault"

Answer:-That is not at all how the program works, you can not quit then qualify, nor could you quit, qualify for the trial (yes it's trial only, then if all goes well for 6-12 months it's permenant) but you couldn't get another job then suddenly be ok because your modification is based on your income, more income = less of a modification or no modification at all..
In fact, there was a story published 2 days ago that the program is failing and often costing families MORE money. They struggle to meet the requirements, they'll pay on time by dipping into their savings only to find themselves out of their savings and out of their home because they failed to meet their trial period guidelines, in other words, they go broke before the trial period is up... So what's happening is instead of these families just letting their homes go, they're struggling to stay afloat only to be foreclosed on anyway after using up all their savings to pay their mortgage. So now not only are they out a home, but also out money they could've used to put towards a new place to live or debts or attempted to keep their homes w/o using that very strict program..
  • Question:-How am I supposed to take advantage of the Making Home Affordable or HUD Under Water Refinance program?
If my lender has opted "not to participate"... it doesn't make sense! No wonder why no one has taken advantage of these programs... they clearly state that the 1st lien holder must be in agreement to reduce the principal or lower the interest rate. Requirements to qualify, you can't be behind on any payments, your credit has to be good, and you have to be able to "afford" the new payments. All which apply to my situation... I just can't get a refinance because of the economy and housing decline.

So yeaha right... like my credit union is going to take the hit just because I want to pay less??? Someone please tell me there's a way to do this... or the system is more f-ed up than I thought....

Answer:-For the Making home afordable program You may be eligible to apply if you meet all of the following:

You have a mortgage owned or guaranteed by Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac.
You do not have an FHA, VA or USDA loan.
You are current on your mortgage payments and have not been more than 30 days late making a payment over the last year.
Have a first mortgage not exceeding 125 percent of the current market value of your home.
The refinance will improve the long-term affordability or stability of your mortgage.
You have the ability to make the new payments.
*Eligibility criteria are for guidance only. Contact your mortgage servicer to see if you qualify for HARP.
The HARP program is offered by many servicers. Homeowners should check with their mortgage servicer (the company to which homeowners make their mortgage payments) to determine if they are participating in HARP. If their mortgage servicer is not participating, the homeowner may contact other lenders that participate in HARP to determine if they are eligible for a refinance.

Other company can help just call aroung if you meet the requirements.

john beck

Go to the second Sheriff Sale bid on a home using the comparable from the first sale.
Fix up only slightly if you going to resale. Fix up a little more if you’re going to occupy.

Gazaaam you now know as much as any late night self help program.

    Good luck, and be honest.
  • Question:-Iam curious to know how John Beck trying to help people by buying his cd and charge usevery month?
How is it that john beck charging us every month for a cd what is up with that.

Answer:-It's a total scam! My dad tried it and it doesn't work. He gives you a bunch of complicated info that makes little sense, then he says you can have someone go over it with you for the monthly fee. We never really got the info we paid for.
  • Question:-How do you think John Beck will do this season?
Incase you guys don't know who John Beck is (LOL) hes the qb of the redskins.

Answer:-It's pretty obvious what the Skins are doing. He's gonna be the stepping stone on the path to Andrew Luck.
  • Question:-has anyone every had experience with the John Beck Free and clear Real Estate System?
I see it on TV, info Mercial at night. I know that you can buy properties very tax sales, but has anyone had experience with john Beck, either good or bad?

Answer:-John Beck makes a ton of money flogging his "system" to clueless rubes. If it was such a great way to make money, he'd be doing it himself (and keeping any "tricks of the trade" to himself) not selling a worthless "system" on how to do it.

FYI, very few properties that go to tax auction are more than junkers that need to be pulled down. Read all of the small print disclaimers on the bottom of the screen. "Results not typical" means that most folks will NOT make any real money.

Capture the infomercial on a DVR and step through frame-by-frame and read all of the fine print that flashes across the screen. Do that (I have) and you wouldn't want to give the jerkoff a DIME!
  • Question:-Can you make a profit by buying tax sales real estate properties? Such as John Beck's free and clear?
I have seen several infomercials such as John Beck's system. I would love to have rental properties. It just seems to good to be true. It is something I have been wanting to do for awhile.

Answer:-In general, yes, you can make a profit. Be aware, however, that reasonably desirable properties do NOT sell for 'cents on the dollar', as advertised. The properties which actually do sell for that tiny amount are worth about that amount.

Before you make any moves to purchase properties, carefully investigate the laws in your state relating to tax lien sales. Depending on your location, if you purchase a $150K property for what seems like a real deal, the title may be encumbered by a mortgage. If your property title carries such liens and your state does not require them to be cleared prior to tax sale, you could end up also buying the mortgage along with the property.

As an aside, don't bother to send any money to Mr. Beck, since the information he provides is readily available for free elsewhere. It just takes some legwork to gather all of it.

    Good luck !
  • Question:-What would be the best team for John Beck to go to?
I think the 49ers because they are in desperate need of a qb.
btw, beck's numbers are decent, he just has fumble issues, if he could get over that, he would be fine.

Answer:-I think John Beck could go to any team that needs a QB or a good backup. Maybe the Vikings might want him? I think the Seahawks could use his since Hasslebeck is struggling and is injured.
  • Question:-Does anyone know about "John Beck" and buying tax-default homes?
I saw the info-mercial for John Beck. Is there any thing to this buying "tax default" homes? I've heard mixed suggestions. How about government forclosures? Can it be done with out having to buy an instructional program? Any free details would help! ;)

Answer:-I did my due dilligence and found out that the cost of the program is misleading. He claims that it only costs $39.95. What is not mentioned is that this $39.95 is charged every month. It's a credit card scam. If you wanted to get his materials, I would suggest going to ebay to buy the literature without having your credit card charged every month.
  • Question:-John Beck Free & Clear Real Estate System Can you really make money easily?
John Beck's System is it trust worthy to get involved with

    Answer:-Absolutley.......

He can tell you how to make 1 million a year. He does classes to explain it. Those classes might cost you 500 bucks. But ask a question, just one question.

Is the person a snake oil saleman? Or do they want to have 1000 poeple in the room making a million dollars? If he was that good why doenst he just make a billion dollars. Is it out of the love of his heart he is telling you this?

No its not. He made his million dollars a year becuase he told 1000 people this is how they make a million dollars a year. If he could actually do it, he would be making money. But he makes more money by selling something he doesnt do. Ask him.... How much have you actually made doing this?

I can spin a web anyway you want.
  • Question:-If John Beck made millions on his Clear and Easy work at home plan, why must he sell it for so much?
I mean really if he is so rich from this and if just wants to help everyone learn how to do it, why does it cost so much to get into? My personal hypotheses is that he actually made thousands, and he plans to make his millions of us (realizing he cant go any further with his home buying scheme). What do you think?

Answer:-You are right---he made a little on a few properties and now is looking to cash in with his books. If I had the secret to make millions I sure wouldn't share it. The books only tell the basics---I myself made some money on properties but it was no-where a million bucks and now with the Economy and Credit Crisis the way it is --it has dried up.
  • Question:-There is an infomercial by John Beck advertising a system to buy homes for less than $1000, what is going on?
The informercial is explaining that a home that sells for $189,000 sold for some amount under $1000, and the tv ad briefly discusses back taxes (i.e. liens on the property). If something is going for these prices, then how much of a lien is on the property, and is the buyer really able to resell it for its fair market value without the lien and without paying any taxes? How could the informercial be so misleading!

Answer:- John Beck is a thief! I ordered his package and, never received it,
    Can anyone spell SCAM?
I was unauthorizedly billed $120 towards my Credit Card so, I had to close it to avoid losing anymore of my hard earned money. Yeah, don't be his next victim, go to college and, get a good paying job or, you will suffer BIG TIME! I kinda like his hand gestures, when, lying about everything he saids :)
