bank transfer day

  • Question:-When is 'bank transfer day' and should I be buying a new mattress?
    *sarcasm

    - where are they planning on keeping all that dough?

Answer:-What "dough" they can't transfer their college loans debt from one bank to another LOL
  • Question:-Are you going to participate/or know about Bank Transfer day November 5th?
I just found this on Facebook as part of the movement people feel big banks are screwing us so they are taking their money out of the "big" six banks and putting it in local not-for-profit credit unions? What is this all about ? Is this a good idea? What do you think?

Answer:-I've used a credit union for fifteen years, I haven't had a single fee for anything in all that time, I bank online, pay all my bills online, its all free. Even my debit and credit card.
Of course, I'm responsible too, no overages, no bounced checks, no lines of credit.
Oh, and I get a shareholders amount too once a year, they pay me.
Federal Credit unions don't have FDIC, so you do have to make sure they have the deposits covered by their insurance group.

Government hasn't made the banks charge customers for taking their own money out at ATM, I have no charge for that either as long as I use another credit unions ATM. Government hasn't created debit card fees, or check charges or other fees and charges that can suck up as much as six hundred a year for the average user. Its greedy corporate banks that do that.
Pointing to government for someone else's charges is nonsense.
  • Question:-are you ready for 'Bank Transfer Day'?

    Answer:-
  • Question:-Question: Bank Transfer Day?
Is there any connection between Bank Transfer Day and Anonymous or is it solely a 99% impact event?

    Answer:-NOVEMBER 5
  • Question:-If I transfer money from my paypal tmrw and pay £5 for next day transfer will it go into my bank on a sat?
I am willing to pay £5 for next day transfer will this money go into my bank account on the saturday?
I know its not technically 'a working day' but I am with Natwest bank and this is open on a saturday.

    Any advice will be appreciated.

Answer:-No it will not. It won't be credited to your bank until Monday. Just because the retail end of the bank is open doesn't mean the back office is. And the electronic wire system PayPal and the bank uses doesn't operate on the weekend.
  • Question:-At what time of the day is the on-line bank account updated after receiving a transfer?
I was sent a bit of money from Italy to here(UK) through a bank transfer. It was put on Tuesday afternoon and I am thinking it would be sent by next monday because it wasn't still there on friday night. At what time will it be in the account and showing in my on-line account?

Answer:-Evidently, your capital letters = SARCASM, STEVEN F.
Despite this, it will take anything up to 24 hours.
  • Question:-Is there a way to make my 3-4 day paypal transfer to my bank account faster?
I needed to transfer about $100 from my paypal to my bank account. Something came up, and I need it before then. Is there a way to get my money faster? Send it to myself as a gift or something? I'm trying to get a paypal debit card, but I'm having trouble and it won't happen fast enough.

Answer:-As far as I know there is no way around, if your bank has a better system (like BOA) you may be able to see it as "pending" a day before that with other banks like Wachovia
  • Question:-How can I transfer money from one bank account to another on the same day?
I have two accounts at different banks, and one is over drawn. My other account is with ING, and ING only allows ACH transfers that take two business days. I am not about to physically go to the bank to deposit money, so I need some way to immediately transfer money into that account online. Anyway suggestions? Please help!
Oh, I'm in the U.S., btw.
I can't go to EITHER branch, unfortunately :/

Answer:-you can go to your branch and do a wire transfer. it may cost between 20-30 bucks, but wires are sent the same day if it's done before a certain time. maybe 4 p.m. you'll need your account and routing number. it's pretty simple, and it's the easiest way at getting funds to your other bank account without going there.
  • Question:-How many days does a Bank of America transfer take to hit my Chase bank account?
Friend sent it via B of A 3 business day transfer on Saturday 3/19 and it still is not in my Chase account today 3/24. She is traveling and I am unable to reach her, should I be concerned or is this the norm?

Also, when I do transfer to other banks using my Chase account they post the next day, so I don't think it is Chase holding things up...

Answer:-Banks do not process these on Saturdays or Sundays.
So it processed her bank on Monday.
After that it takes about 3 business days.
If it does not show up tommorrow, something went wrong.

Next time have her mail you a check.
This prevents errors and you can make sure you are getting your money.
Note, a lot of people say they send money and never send it.

When you transfer to other banks it may be faster.
IF both accounts are under your name generally transfers take about a day..
  • Question:-What is the maximum limit one can transfer money from US bank accounts per day, month and year? Thanks?

Answer:-There is no limit when you transfer money within the US or overseas. Transfers are only subject to the Bank Secrecy Act, which tries to prevent money laundering, tax evasion, and other criminal activity. Every transaction over $10,000 is reported to a federal authority. "Suspicious" transactions are also reported. For example, if you want to avoid the $10,000 limit and you transfer $9,000 a few times within a short period of time, these transactions will be deemed "suspicious" and therefore reported. If you have nothing to hide and you do legitimate business, there is no problem transferring more than $10,000. I have done it many times within the US and also overseas.
