grover norquist

  • Question:-How is Grover Norquist not a enemy of the United States of American?
Our fading generations are now the most dangerous problem we have in the US now. I think this guy is a enemy of the United States. If a company or group of people can cause problems in the economy government will try to save its people and spend so much that it will have to shrink itself aka cuts. "My goal is to cut government in half in twenty-five years, to get it down to the size where we can drown it in the bathtub" _Grover Norquist May 24th 2001.

Answer:-= "My goal is to cut government in half in twenty-five years, to get
= it down to the size where we can drown it in the bathtub"

He does not call for drowning it in the bathtub -- nor for any other violence.

He calls for it becoming so small, that it would fit in the bathtub... And I agree.
  • Question:-Has Grover Norquist permanently changed the Pledge of Allegiance?
Grover Norquist persuaded hundreds of U. S. Representatives and Senators to ignore those citizens who had elected them, and to sign a pledge of allegiance to him instead. The new pledge reads as follows:

"I pledge allegiance to the United States of Norquist and to the Plutocracy for which it stands, one ideology, underground, indivisible, with avidity and suffrage for millionaires all."

Does not the signing of the Norquist pledge, override the oath of office taken by the members of congress who signed it?

    Answer:-
  • Question:-Is Grover Norquist a danger to American economic recovery?
A growing number of House lawmakers want out of an Americans For Tax Reform President Grover Norquist's pledge in which they vowed to never raise taxes.

Who is this Norquist dude and why are politicians following him?

    Answer:-
  • Question:-Is Grover Norquist getting what he wanted years ago?
Norquist was cheering on Bush as he raced to increase the deficit years ago by cutting taxes and wildly increasing spending. Norquist called it "starving the beast". His hope was that Bush-like spending and tax cuts would create monstrous deficits that would, by necessity, lead to deep spending cuts.
Has Grovers' evil nightmare played out for America?

Answer:-I don't know why Reps are afraid of Norquist this man is a big fat nothing that has all the Reps on a string.
  • Question:-Is Grover Norquist more of a threat to the United States than Marx or Lenin ever was?
The latter two couldn't create class warfare in this country. Do you think the Norquist demand of 'no new taxes' will do what those arch enemies could not accomplish?

Answer:-Norquist is without a doubt a class baiter. He follows the Ayan Rand philosophy that says the rich are victims of the poor.
  • Question:-Who elected Grover Norquist and why is he sitting in on the super committee meetings?
I don't want to abolish Norquist. I simply want to reduce him to the size where I can drag it into the bathroom and drown it in the bathtub...,,

    sarcasm.....

    Answer:-
  • Question:-After Grover Norquist drowns government and its benefits to the poor in the bathtub?
what happens to the 45 million on Food Stamps?http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grover_Norquist

    Answer:-embezzled
  • Question:-Do Republican Congressmen answer more to their constituents & voter base, or to Grover Norquist?
Who does the GOP want to appease more - their voters, or Grover Norquist?
Mjonhir: Incorrect. 64% of Americans want taxes raised on the rich: http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162-20114988-503544.html

    That also includes Republicans.

Answer:-Tax evaders and cheaters and monopolistic corporations...
  • Question:-What did Grover Norquist mean when he spoke of drowning the government in the bathtub?
Or more specifically; that he wanted to make it small enough that it could be drowned in the bathtub?
What did he mean by that?

Answer:-I would understand liberals being confused by this.

The American way of thinking is that government is an impediment to freedom and must be restrained and limited in size, scope and power.

The totalitarian way of thinking is that people are the enemy of government and that government must be preserved, trusted and enhanced for the good of everyone.

Liberals are just not honest about what they believe.
  • Question:-When conservatives made their pledge to unelected lobbyist Grover Norquist?
Did they write it in blood or something? Why can't they just tell Grover to go pound sand?

"Sorry.. just kidding bro.. maybe go whine to big-bird or something dude"

That's what they should tell this guy that's holding America hostage to his idea on how America should be run. How is that even democratic.. one man holding the nation hostage?

Answer:-Well most likely because they are aware of Norquist's right to free speech. During Obama's first pres. campaign he loudly proclaimed "Lobbyists will find no place in MY administration" President now has more than 40 ( maybe as many as 200) on his payroll, including Eric Holder and tax cheat Tim Geithner. As usual, old Obie was talking out of both sides of his purple lips

    Answer:-
  • Question:-What do you think of Calvin Klein's or Benetton's ads ?
What is your analysis of the ads and do they appeal to you?

Answer:-Speaking only of the Calvin Klein ads with the hot young stud-muffins..... um, I never really noticed them! (hee hee)
I like it when Antonio Sabato Jr was photographed in his CK undies. WOW!
  • Question:-Benetton Ad campaigns, good or bad?
Hey guys, I came across the United Colors of Benetton's ads.
I wanted to know what you guys think, do they really send a "positive msg" by bringing awareness to controversial issues like aids, racism etc...
Or their Images are just tasteless and its just another way to sell their product...

Please!!! If you can explain yourself that would be great!!!

Answer:-It's advertising. Must be working, you just gave them a free ride on Yahoo!!
  • Question:-What is the song in the It's My Time ad campaign by Benetton?
Its kind of like a techno song.

    Answer:-Try here:

    http://www.whatisthatsong.net/
  • Question:-Are you familiar with Benetton ad campiagns and if so?
do you know how they relate to any of Calvin Klein ads

    Answer:-sorry i am not
  • Question:-I have to write a five page paper and I don't think it will be possible can you please help?
We have to pick two ads, one from any of Benetton ad campaigns and another by Calvin Kelin, and do a formal analysis of their rhetorical strategies and the meanings the wish to communicate.

What does it mean to do a formal analysis and what are rhetorical strategies

Answer:-oh sweetie... five page paper.... i was just looking at the homework help advice that others have given you, and they are all great!!!...

But I would like to add one more thing... I didn't really have an answer for you, but one thing did strike me when I read your question.

It's the part where you said... "and I don't think it will be possible..."

If you 'think' it is impossible and 'believe' it is impossible, then it WILL be impossible. You've sealed your fate before you have even started writing!

But now that you've gotten some REALLY helpful advice from others, NOW do you think it is possible??? Believe that it IS possible, and you'll be able to start writing. WOW...You're sooo lucky to have so many people helping you. =) Good luck writing. Believe it is possible. I believe you can write this 5 page paper. Now you just have to believe that you can, too! That's all.... Rooting for you at the sidelines!!! GO-GO, LaLa!! You can do it!
  • Question:-What do you think they're trying to say with their eyes... and how is this ad effective in selling ads?
snob appeal? harsh gaze filled with contempt?
    idk.....

    http://www.fashionising.com/pictures/p--United-Colours-of-Benetton-Spring-Summer-2010-Ad-Campaign0-5056-75985.html

Answer:-I think they are trying to disrespect me by giving me the up-down. Grrrrr
I won't be buying their knits, no way!
  • Question:-provocative ads?
i was wondering if anyone knows where can i get some provocative ads. i have an oral presentation soon. i know United colours of benetton has loads of provocative ads but i want something worse.. something more radical.

    thanks (´´, )
    printed ads.

Answer:-Do you mean like print ads? Go to the library and read through the magazines. I would suggest Stuff, Maxim, and FHM. These are men's magazines and the content is socially unacceptable so the ads are about ten times worse. If you can get the back copies for free great, if not you could go out and buy the magazines with the ads that caught your eye.

referendum

  • Question:-Referendum?
Why was Referendum historically significant in the US?

Answer:-well, referendum means: the principle or practice of submitting to popular vote a measure passed on or proposed by a legislative body or by popular initiative .
so I guess it just means that in the US there has always been the right to vote on bills in congress.
  • Question:-referendum?
which country recently held an election to pass a referndum to change its constitution? did it pass?

Answer:-Venezuela....Chavez tried to change it so he could have "unlimited" terms in office.
You can go to this link to read more...
    http://search.yahoo.com/search?ei=utf-8&fr=slv8-&p=hugo%20chavez&type=
The people rejected the change so it did NOT pass.
  • Question:-Should the United States adopt a national referendum process that allows citizens to directly vote?
Should the United States adopt a national referendum process that allows citizens to directly vote on important policies? Why or why not?

Answer:-Yes because it would give us the direct ability to represent ourselves not just an elected politician who will more than likely put a spin on what the peoples real issues and concerns are!
  • Question:-How did initiative, referendum and recall change democracy in the united states?
How did initiative, referendum and recall change democracy in the united states?

Answer:-the states that allow it let people get more directly involved in government
  • Question:-USA - Should there be a referendum on wether private property continues to exist or not?
USA - Should there be a referendum on wether private property continues to exist or not? If the majority votes in favor of keeping private property as is, then nothing changes. But if the majority votes in favor of abolishing private property, then all property (homes, apartments, storage buildings, industries, banks, etc) is given to the government so it decides how to best use these. That would be the democratic thing.

Answer:-American is a Representative democracy with a written constitution. If Congress passed a constitutional amendment that was then ratified by all fifty states you could abolish property rights. Good luck on that one!
  • Question:-Should a legislative referendum process be used on the national level of government? Why or Why not?
Should a legislative referendum process be used on the national level of government? Why or Why not?

    Answer:-Most definitely.

The people are not getting what they elected their representatives to do, so let the people do it through a referendum. We can start with making our government officials live on social security and no special health plans for them.
  • Question:-Is the 2008 election actually a referendum upon the Republican agenda?
Is the 2008 election actually a referendum on Republican agenda of giving more to the those that have the most?

What does it say it say about Conservatives insomuch the Republican ideology appears to be thoroughly rejected?

Answer:-More than anything else, this election says there is hope for the United States, after all.

I'm so proud to be an American today. The world will again see us as they should.
  • Question:-Why can't Canada hold a referendum to abolish the Quebec Bloc Separatist Party?
With the separatist party in the house of commons, it lowers the chances significantly of any LEGITIMATE party of getting a majority and it is a waste of tax payers money through the party subsidies that the party gets.
If there was a referendum, would you support it?

Answer:-A reforendum will unfortunatley not work. Quebec is one third of the population and every one of them would vote no. Then you only need a few more sympathizers in Nova Scotia, Onatrio and New Brunswick to make up the difference.

I agree the Block Quebecois is a sty on the Canadian government system, but there's not much that can be done.

EDIT: I highly disagree with Cougar that they would go away if their needs were being met. The whole purpose of the Bloc is to get a disproportionately larger share of the pie for Quebec than other provinces. In that they operate more like a provincial government with much larger clout in the Federal government. I think that could be seen as a potential way to get rid of them legally. Investigate their actions to show that they operate as an extension of Quebec’s provincial government and make the case that they do not have the interests of anyone but Quebec in mind and therefore are not a legitimate federal party.

Cougar: People don't vote for fairness, they vote on their own interests. To the rest of Canada, that means voting for someone who'll do the best job for Canada. For Quebecers it means voting for someone who'll do the best job for Quebecers. They don't see themselves as Canadians. I live in Shanghai and there's a Canadian consulate here and a Quebec consulate. I cannot go to the Quebec consulate for anything because I'm not a Quebec citizen. No doubt this is the doing of the Block. Now Canada, from federal funds has to pay for Quebec consulates around the world and for what? Big waste of money, but when you have a federal party that only wants to divide Canada and doesn't care about the needs of Canadians, it shouldn't be legally recognized. It's almost certain a real party wanted to pass something important and needed the Block to get it through and the Block said "give us consulates around the world and we'll support it" undermining what's best for Canada as a whole once again. Something should be done.
  • Question:-How can ordinary citizens force a public referendum?
To cut governmental costs, how could a public initiated referendum be initiated to allow for voting on reducing t\he number of representatives by tripling the number of citizens needed in a given area for congressional representation? For our Federal government? For our State government?

Answer:-Start a petition. Go out and get citizens to sign it. If enough signatures are obtained you will get the attention of the nation. You would have to have a constitutional amendment to change this in federal or state govt. They are very hard to get a sufficient number of citizens to back them.
  • Question:-Can Queen Elizabeth refuse Royal Assent for a vote on a referendum for New Zealand abolishing the monarchy?
Or does she not get any right if it's not a bill? Does she if it was a bill? If they had a referendum could she refuse that? What legal powers does a referendum have in NZ and do they have Royal Assent?

Answer:-I'd love to see it happen. I'd love to see how the constitutional crisis would play out. God save the Queen!

May Her Majesty spark a constitutional crisis that highlights the powers of the monarchy!

sharia law

  • Question:-sharia law,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,?
    sharia law.........................?
    1what is sharia law?
#2what affect would sharia law have on no Muslim family's?
#3what are the issue with sharia
#4 do you support sharia law and why?

Answer:-42:21 Or do they have partners who decree for them a sharia which has not been authorized by God? If it were not for the word already given, they would have been judged immediately. Indeed, the transgressors will have a painful retribution.

These clergymen who arrogated themselves and falsely claimed to be the "ulama" (people of knowledge), polluted the message of islam with ignorance. They fabricated numerous sharias (laws), prohibitions, veils, beards, turbans, rules on how to clean one's bottom, rules on how to pee in the bathroom, toothbrushes, right hands, left hands, right feet, left feet, hadiths, sunnas, intercession, holy hair, holy clothes, holy teeth, holy feet traces, hazrats, lords, saints, mawlas, mahdies, innocent emams, orders, sects, rosaries, amulets, dreams, holy loopholes, prayer caps, circumcisions, shrines, extra prayers, extra prohibitions, and numerous Arabic jargon such as mandup, mustahap, makruh, sharif, sayyid and more nonsense. Thus, the makers and followers of madhabs and fiqh contradicts the divine laws in nature and scripture, and condemns its sincere followers to misery and backwardness. The religious leaders and their political allies contribute greatly to the backwardness of the Muslim world. Allah Almighty now wants to reform us and open the path of progress with the message described as "one of the greatest" (74:30-37).
  • Question:-Sharia law? ?
What exactly comes under Sharia law? i know punishing according to Islamic law is one. but what else is sharia law? What are some of its laws and rules?. and what are the punishments if you violate those laws and rules?
Nut coco, all of those look fair to me.

Answer:-all the Laws are stated in Glorious Quran VERY CLEARLY
  • Question:-Sharia Law?
What countries/states are currently governed by Sharia Law?

Answer:-Saudi Arabia, Iran, most Arab nations. I'm not sure about some of them. Jordan, UAE, and Lebanon are possible exceptions.
  • Question:-What is the likelihood that Sharia law will be imposed on the United States any time soon?
I hear lots of Christians complaining about the "creeping threat of Sharia law" lately. Is Sharia law likely to be imposed on non-Muslims in the United States? And how is Sharia law different from the Jewish Halakha courts already allowed in the US?

Answer:-There are exactly TWO chances... slim and none. And I'm putting my wager on none. Islam may obtain more and more followers, even here in the U.S.A., but: even then the U.S. constitution restricts exactly how far Religion can get involved with Government. So, while the Govt can't restrict Muslims from living by Sharia law, they CAN restrict Muslims from enforcing any punishment beyond the basic "kicking the offenders out of the Religion". Fines, imprisonment, corporal punishment, and anything beyond would be totally unconstitutional and not allowed. For them to force the issue would be for them to abdicate their Religious group status and lose all the other benefits that a Religion enjoys in this nation. They may not like it but even IF they became a majority of the population of the U.S. they would still face the very same roadblocks that Christianity faces in trying to make this a Christian Nation. The majority can NOT make the minority illegal and may not discriminate against them in any way whatsoever.

So, as much as Christians hate the fact that the U.S. won't give them special status that also gives them the same protections if/when their majority status changes. It works for them as much as it works against them. Accordingly, they should just shut up and let things rest the way they are for they may very well unleash all the "winds of Pandora's Box" and bring about their own demise.

    Brightest Blessings,
    Raji the Green Witch
  • Question:-Are punishments in sharia law considered to be an infringement of human right under international law?
If so how are conflicting laws between states resolved? And if sharia law is violating human rights, how come its not eliminated?

Answer:-Yes, many of the punishments of Sharia law are considered violations of human rights under international law. For example, cutting off the hand of a thief, flogging, stoning, etc. "International law," however, is binding in a particular nation only to the extent that a nation is willing to give it effect. So, a country that is under the control of Sharia law adherents merely ignores the international agreements and continues its own way.
  • Question:-How is Sharia law and common law similar and different from each other?
How does sharia law affect a person how family relations, hygiene and culture?

Answer:-this happens after muslims raid a village and get slave girls.
  • Question:-What aspects of Sharia law, or any religious law, could be allowed under US Law as a form of arbitration?
If people consent to arbitration under the law, how is that different than consenting to Jewish law, Sharia, Mormon law, or any other religious law in an ADR setting?
EDIT: I disagree. I'd say any of it that doesn't conflict with the Constitution or other laws.

Answer:-using your example of "so long as it did not conflict with the constitution " is a good example as pretty much EVERY aspect of sharia law goes against it then things will be just fine and they can NOT ram that chit down the throats of the USA as they are doing daily in the UK..............
  • Question:-What are some examples of creeping Sharia Law in the United States?
I know a lot of Christians are worried about Sharia law and have passed some laws to protect against it. What are some examples of Sharia law creeping in the United States to enslave us all?

Answer:-When states recognize sharia law, they recognize it as subordinate to US law. So you can't cut someone's hand off for stealing or something like that. Generally, it is applied in business dealings between Muslims. If a Muslim were to do business with a regular American, the Muslim couldn't break US law in a business dealing.

People who want to preemptively make Sharia law are all about the noise with little concern about the substance.
  • Question:-Is Sharia law a bigger threat to democracy than Communism and National Socialism?
Sharia law can sneak in under the radar and hide behind freedom of speech and religion laws. Also, they can get away with enforcing it by using "Political Correctness" against it's host nation.

Answer:-Sharia law has no place in western societies and should never even be considered as even in its most moderate interpretations it does not treat women as the equals of men. Women are considered second-class citizens and have no rights at all.

Religion freedom is all well and good as long as beliefs and practices adhere to the western laws already in place. There should be no allowances made using 'freedom of speech' or 'political correctness' or 'freedom of religious expression'.

There should be one rule/law for all, not different rules/laws for religious minorities and if these rules/laws are broken then they should face the full penalty of the law ... and if they don't like it they can go back to where they came from!

This should not just apply to extremist Muslim beliefs but to other extreme religions such as the Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses etc.

Communism and national socialism(fascism) are both in your face philosophies and don't sneak in by stealth but by revolution.
  • Question:-What will you do to keep Sharia law out of the United States?
Sharia law are basically a bunch of laws that favor Islam and stuff.

They have it over in the UK, lots of European countries, and the Middle East especially.

What will you do to make sure it never sees the light of day in the United States?

    Answer:-obey the constitution.

lra

  • Question:-How many (child) soldiers of the LRA have been killed?
I've designing a poster about child soldier deaths within the LRA, but I can't seem to come across any information about casualties /within/ the LRA. Information about deaths of civilians is readily available, but I need actual statistics about how large of a percent of the abducted children within the LRA have been killed.

Answer:-Do you actually believe the LRA keeps track of and releases such info?
  • Question:-How does the war in Uganda (against the LRA) affect the United States and Americans?
Info on how we are directly affected and why we should help end the fight against the LRA....

Answer:-Americans protect human rights as one of the proponents of the UN. Thus, any atrocities committed in the war in Uganda affect the Americans although not as important as a war involving Israel.
  • Question:-What is the most recent event you know about the LRA (Lord's Resistance Army)?
I'm doing a human rights project for World Studies, and my topic is the LRA. I'm trying to find out what their most recent event is. I already know about the 'Christmas Massacres' article that took place in the end of December to the beginning of January (2008-09). Could you guys (and you girls) help me out please?

Answer:-look at bbc work news or JSTOR
i have does indepth research on this topic but i have no recent info except that the congo which was work the the un was trying to push out the lra, however the lra does have a large presnce in the sudan and of course uganda. the lra had been lined to other rebel groups in and near eastern provence of the congo. recently uganda has had many confrontations with the congo on this matter because their lack of action. however theya re also being link with rebel interhweme and hutu grous (sorry my spelling!) check the un mission tot he congo, there is more info on there
    good luck
  • Question:-should the united states help fight against the LRA in Uganda?
    ...if so...
what are the pros and cons of the united states helping?

    Answer:-
  • Question:-Where do Ugandan LRA rebels get their weapons?
I saw a huge Invisible Children Rescue rally tonight about child soldiers in Africa, and it really moved me. However, I don't know much about the situation, so I'm trying to learn more. My question is -- I know the rebels loot villages, but where do they get weapons from? Do they loot them also? Does someone sell it to them? If yes, who? Where do the rebels get the money to buy them? Does someone finance them? Why?
    Thanks!

Answer:-Groups like this are self-financing via kidnapping and robbery. Weapons are easy to buy in the 3rd world. The army and police sell weapons out the back door. In evil cultures, children are ideal assassins, easy to train and enthusiastic.
  • Question:-How does Turkmenistan feel about the LRA (Lord's Resistance Army)?
If someone could point me to a link or just tell me, I'd be truly grateful!

    Answer:-why would it care?
the LRA is thousands of kilometers away
  • Question:-Someone have shop online with LRA enterprise ?
I want to buy a Nintendo Wii from they, but I don't find any reviews about this site.

Answer:-try amazon.com they should have it
  • Question:-Does having been in a mental hospital or on LRA show up on a background check for an apartment?
considering you have to go to court and it is a legal matter..

Answer:-Mental hospitals are completely confidential. Police can't even find out if you have been there without a court order.
  • Question:-Why is NO country helping out in Uganda where the LRA is killing thousands of people?
    read this article in Newsweek.

Answer:-Uganda is in Africa. We put so much aid into Africa fighting AIDS and diseases and educating them about the diseases, only to have some of the tribes in Africa to purposefully transmit AIDS (not kidding!) It's some ritual and whatnot where they purposefully give another person AIDS. We don't have any more money to give them to help them with the killing going on. Do you not watch the news on how we spend so much on the Iraq war and trying to get our economy recovered. We are hurting ourselves, how could we possibly give anymore money to an area where it won't make one bit a difference?

We can't financially support every hurting country in this world.

No one else wants to help because once you help, then you are in it for the long run.
  • Question:-How do you feel about Obama's decision to send 100 troops to Uganda to combat the LRA?

Answer:-Good move. They’re about as evil as it gets. They’ve done horrific things to the women and children there. Horrific. They’re savages, even though Rush Limbaugh likes to defend them as ‘christians.'

war of the worlds

  • Question:-Why were the effects of world war two more powerful than it's causes?
    I need 3 reasons

    Answer:-
  • Question:-Once the war in Iraq is over, is world war 3 going to start?
I heard Obama is planning on taking the soldiers out of Iraq, is this going to lead to them attacking us again? Is War world 3 going to start?
It's just a question....why do people waste their time if they are just going to be rude?

Does anyone think WW3 is going to happen soon? Could we survive it?

    Answer:-
  • Question:-The conflict between the US and the Soviet Union after the World War II?
After the World War II... there was a huge rivalry between the US and the Soviet Union. Both sides held very dissimilar ideas regarding the establishment and maintenance of post-war security. The Americans tended to understand security in situational terms, assuming that, if US-style governments and markets were established as widely as possible, countries could resolve their differences peacefully, through international organizations. What did the Soviets wanted to do with the post-war world? What were their ideas about reconstruction the post-war world?

Answer:-Rule it with an iron thumb. The theory is that if everyone gave as much as they were able and only took what they needed then everyone would be happy. In theory it's a pretty good idea. Read "Animal Farm" by George Orwell if you want to get a good look at it as an allegory.
  • Question:-can anyone send me the code key for world of war worlds end.?

Answer:-if your talking about a beta code... then the beta is ended. Even if you had a code the beta servers are permanently down so you cannot play.
  • Question:-What were the effects of New Jersey after the Civil War, World War 1, and the Great Depression?
I have to write a essay on the effects of New Jersey after the Civil War, World War 1, and the Great Depression! Any ideas? I can't find anything!
