  Answer:-It might help to get it authenticated, but you could list it with a memorabilia site or e-bay with a note that it can be sold pending this less any fees for doing so.
  A lot depends on the quality and condition of the ball as well. Most need to be in new condition and be cared for in a way that there is no wear on the signatures as well, but those type of things usually sell for more after more than a few years.
  I would suggest that if these are high quality balls and in good condition, that you buy a display case and keep them and wait and see when some of the players reach the height of their basketball life; then try to sell them later.

My favorite players are Jodie Meeks and Patrick Patterson. They are both very talented players. Jodie has an all around game, and Patrick like you said is good down low and a huge inside presence. I miss Derrick Jasper. But, I think DeAndre Liggins is just like him. Do you remember Alex Legion who was supposed to be good and transferred from UK to Illinois in the middle of last season? Perry Stevenson is the unsung hero who gets over looked by many. Perry's a good ball player. I just can't wait for Darius Miller and DeAndre Liggins to get more experience. They are the future of UK basketball. Gillispie has some good recruits coming in next year named Daniel Orton, Jon Hood, and GJ Vilarino. I hope Meeks and Patterson come back next year instead of going to the NBA. I Bleed Blue!!!!!

  Answer:-Hey there fellow Cat fan! I know how you feel. I have to watch a lot of games online that aren't broadcast nationally, because the cable system I have here in North Carolina doesn't always have some of the regionally broadcast games. I also went through the same thing when I was in the Army in the early-mid nineties. Unfortunately, the only option I had then was radio and telephone, because the internet wasn't even remotely as evolved as it is now.
  
  Anywho...enough babble. I can offer you peace of mind. There is NEVER a reason to miss ANY KENTUCKY FOOTBALL OR BASKETBALL GAME if you have access to a broadband internet connection. Simply remember the following:
  
  1-A gentleman who goes by the moniker of 'BWO' (which stands for Blue World Order :P) has his own channel at justin.tv and he streams each and every UK game via the net. His channel is at http://www.justin.tv/funchester (funchester is another alias of his. Not sure what the fun stands for, but he's a cool guy from Winchester, so that's where the chester part comes in.)
  
  2-If, for some reason, BWO's stream isn't up (won't happen often as he hasn't missed a game in two years now), simply go to http://www.catspause.com and click on the 'Rupp's Rafters' forum. There are always threads before each and every game that discuss where to find online streams for the upcoming contest. Usually the threads always have people directing everyone to BWO's stream at justin.tv, but if his stream isn't up, they'll surely be giving out other directions.
  
  Follow those two pointers and you'll be able to watch every game Calipari's Cats play this season. As an aside, before I was able to begin watching all of the games, I would always listen to Tom Leach's radio call of the games via UK's free audio through Yahoo! Sports. Go to the team page there and click on "listen live" and you can catch free audio of every game, as well as the other radio shows like the weekly call-in and coaches shows. Yahoo charges for the audio service for a lot of schools games, but Kentucky's are ALWAYS FREE and I don't know about you, but if I can't watch the game, I'd at least be happy to listen live. :)
  
  P.S. I almost forgot, another place that usually has someone streaming UK games is channelsurfing.net. Going there and searching for "Kentucky" or "UK" at gametime, will almost always bring up a stream or two (or three). I doubt you'll need it, but just wanted to share it, because I know it's a good link. [Unlike some of the others that have been given to you in other answers here. Stay away from those espn.tk sites or whatever. They're bogus and I can't begin to imagine what they might try to do to your computer.

  Every forum you read and even yahoo answers Florida fans comment that everything Kentucky basketball accomplished was "50 years ago." Is it really that difficult to do a little research before opening your mouth? For example, Florida has done a sensational job the last few years and repeating as national champs would be something to be proud of... but remember 1996-1998? If it wern't for the terrific guard play of Mike Bibby, ACL injury of Derek Anderson and a close overtime period in 1997, Kentucky would have had 3 consecutive NCAA championships. But yet 1998 is seen as "50 years ago." Even more recently was in 2002-2003 when Kentucky was undefeated in the SEC and held a #1 ranking, falling just short of a final four due to a Marquette team lead by Dewayne Wade. As recently as 2005 KY has fallen just short of the final four by Michigan St by 2 overtimes. No doubt Kentucky hasn't lived up to their potential the last two years, but it hasn't exactly been a "50 year" slide either.
  
  Answer:-While I do think Donovan should stay at Florida, I agree with what you're saying. People who say Kentucky is a crap job to take based on the past season or two is an idiot and knows absolutely jack about NCAA basketball.

  Answer:-You must live somewhere warm. Maybe because all of us east coasters are miserable during the winter months and basketball is the one thing I look forward to during the week. It gives me something to watch and keeps me entertained on those cold winter nights. People are more likely to sit in their house in the winter and watch the games. Summer nights people can go out and enjoy the weather. That might have nothing to do with the real reason, but that is my rational. Also, basketball players do have a spoiled lifestyle, and they get the summer months off if you think about it. They probably don't want the winter months off - they get the summer off.

  To me watching college basketball is a big drop off compared to Nba games. So if the season is lost there will be nowhere else to see high level bball.

  Answer:-Yeah, it was the 1998-99 season. Due to a lockout, the season did not start until February 5, 1999 after a new six year Collective Bargaining Agreement was reached between the NBA and the National Basketball Players Association. All 29 teams played a shortened 50 game regular season schedule, and the 16 teams who qualified for the playoffs played a full post-season schedule.
  
  I remember that well, and I was pissed because all the squabbling over money. I remember thinking that there wasn't going to be a season at all. The San antonio Spurs won the championship over the New York Knicks 4-1.

I give him maybe two or three years to find his spot. Call me crazy but he could be a Derrick Rose/Dwayne Wade type but needs to work on his overall ball game and aggressiveness. He has a few weaknesses that the pros would eat up (ball handling)

The best case scenario would be for the Boston Celtics to win the NBA Finals and for the Oklahoma City Thunder to have the worst record because the Celtics have their 1st round draft pick.

college basketball

  I just want to play college basketball and have no intention of going pro, so i cant afford to miss classes of the course i have taken.
  
  SUPPOSE i get selected by one of the colleges to play for them, then would i be missing classes? if yes then how many? will i be able to catch up on missed classes?
  
  Answer:-I'm not intimately familiar with this, as I have never played college basketball.
  However, I believe that the time/travel/practice requirement will vary from university to university.
  For example, at a top-flight college basketball program, there may be more practice requirements and also more travel requirements for tourneys and so forth.
  Also, certain school may place more of a priority on academics for their athletes than other schools. Different school will have different policies on tutoring and missed classes. But all schools are going to recognize that some student athletes may miss class from time to time due to athletic commitments. The univeristy recognizes this, they know what an asset athletics can be to a school, and they will be happy to accomodate you. The accomodation can take the form of tutors, giving you your assignments before-hand, or make up exams/classes. Just be sure to address any missed classes/assignments with the professor. Don't just ignore the class and hope for the best.
  All in all, (assuming you are hard-working and relatively intelligent), you should have no problem playing basketball and thriving academically. Just make sure to discuss this potential issue with the head coach and school administrators before committing to the school. Find out about their policies on student athletes, and do not be afraid to ask questions. Then be prepared to work hard, take classes you enjoy, and you will do great.

  Answer:-Well there are several different levels of college ball. You do not have to go to high school in the US for any of them. The one that is the highest level is NCAA D-1.
  
  To play D1 you really need to be recruited because its the toughest to break into. If you have D1 talent and a coach or scout for a school sees you play enough you may be offered a scholarship to play for a program or a coach may offer an opportunity to walk-on and be a part of the team as a non-scholarship player. If you improve your game enough you may be able to get a scholarship a season or two after your freshman year. Here the only requirement for you would be that you can qualify academically for the school you choose.
  
  The next one I'll talk about is NJCAA. This is the junior colleges or 2 year schools. I figured I'd talk about this one next because I know of several australians that played baseball and basketball at the NJCAA school I went to. The overall talent level isn't as high at the NJCAA especially at the D-II and D-III levels but the benefits of going this route are that the academics standards are lower.(Many US players who fail to meet the academic standards out of HS go to JC to improve their grades) and also one huge benefit about going to a JC is you can still receive an scholarship to play basketball at this level. And after your two years if you've played well enough an NCAA team may offer you a scholarship to play for them.
  
  The next level is NCAA D-II and then NCAA D-III. These are also 4year schools like NCAA D-1 however the talent level is significantly lower and there is very little media exposure. The positives are at a D-II you can still receive a scholarship for playing basketball(However D-III does not offer athletic scholarships but there are grants available and you may qualify for an academic scholarship) and alot of these schools are very good schools to get your college degree from. So if getting a good degree is priority for you then there is alot of great D-II and D-III schools to chooe from.
  
  The next level is NAIA. These are usually really small schools and most of them have a religious affiliation. However there are 4yr schools and they can offer atheltic scholarships. NAIA is a completely different organization from the NCAA. And again there is very little media exposure at this level but here again you can play 4 years of basketball and get a degree.
  
  Ways for you to get noticed by coaches would be to play in as many big tournaments as possible(preferably international tournaments) However don't worry if you're not quite good enough to make an international team. The next step would be to make a recruiting packet to send out to coaches of schools you'd be interested in attending. The packet should include a bio, your stats, team info and a video of your performance in games.
  
  Whether your goal is to play in the NBA or another international pro league, to coach, or just for the experience college ball has alot to offer. If you need any more info let me know.

  Answer:-The team fouls don't matter, but the shooter doesn't always get two freethrows because:
  
  If the bucket is made, the player only gets 1 freethrow (referred to as an "and 1").
  
  If the bucket is not made, they get 2 freethrows.
  
  If they were attempting a 3, the shooter would get 3 freethrows.
  
  If the 3 point shooter makes the shot, the shooter gets 1 freethrow for a rare 4 point play.

  Answer:-because when your really good at basketball you can get scholarships.... the best schools want the best players so the great players get to go to great colleges no matter the grades, a 2.5 is like all you have to have anyway

  Answer:-Not technically. There are a quite a few players in the NBA who did not even go to college. The NBA has tryouts sometimes you just have to know where they are. If you plan on trying out, good luck!

  Answer:-Hey there fellow Cat fan! I know how you feel. I have to watch a lot of games online that aren't broadcast nationally, because the cable system I have here in North Carolina doesn't always have some of the regionally broadcast games. I also went through the same thing when I was in the Army in the early-mid nineties. Unfortunately, the only option I had then was radio and telephone, because the internet wasn't even remotely as evolved as it is now.
  
  Anywho...enough babble. I can offer you peace of mind. There is NEVER a reason to miss ANY KENTUCKY FOOTBALL OR BASKETBALL GAME if you have access to a broadband internet connection. Simply remember the following:
  
  1-A gentleman who goes by the moniker of 'BWO' (which stands for Blue World Order :P) has his own channel at justin.tv and he streams each and every UK game via the net. His channel is at http://www.justin.tv/funchester (funchester is another alias of his. Not sure what the fun stands for, but he's a cool guy from Winchester, so that's where the chester part comes in.)
  
  2-If, for some reason, BWO's stream isn't up (won't happen often as he hasn't missed a game in two years now), simply go to http://www.catspause.com and click on the 'Rupp's Rafters' forum. There are always threads before each and every game that discuss where to find online streams for the upcoming contest. Usually the threads always have people directing everyone to BWO's stream at justin.tv, but if his stream isn't up, they'll surely be giving out other directions.
  
  Follow those two pointers and you'll be able to watch every game Calipari's Cats play this season. As an aside, before I was able to begin watching all of the games, I would always listen to Tom Leach's radio call of the games via UK's free audio through Yahoo! Sports. Go to the team page there and click on "listen live" and you can catch free audio of every game, as well as the other radio shows like the weekly call-in and coaches shows. Yahoo charges for the audio service for a lot of schools games, but Kentucky's are ALWAYS FREE and I don't know about you, but if I can't watch the game, I'd at least be happy to listen live. :)
  
  P.S. I almost forgot, another place that usually has someone streaming UK games is channelsurfing.net. Going there and searching for "Kentucky" or "UK" at gametime, will almost always bring up a stream or two (or three). I doubt you'll need it, but just wanted to share it, because I know it's a good link. [Unlike some of the others that have been given to you in other answers here. Stay away from those espn.tk sites or whatever. They're bogus and I can't begin to imagine what they might try to do to your computer.

  Answer:-Yeah they do a good job of recruiting. But unfortunately they never win championships.
• Question:-Is it impossible for Florida fans to view Kentucky Basketball accurately when competing for a coach?
  Every forum you read and even yahoo answers Florida fans comment that everything Kentucky basketball accomplished was "50 years ago." Is it really that difficult to do a little research before opening your mouth? For example, Florida has done a sensational job the last few years and repeating as national champs would be something to be proud of... but remember 1996-1998? If it wern't for the terrific guard play of Mike Bibby, ACL injury of Derek Anderson and a close overtime period in 1997, Kentucky would have had 3 consecutive NCAA championships. But yet 1998 is seen as "50 years ago." Even more recently was in 2002-2003 when Kentucky was undefeated in the SEC and held a #1 ranking, falling just short of a final four due to a Marquette team lead by Dewayne Wade. As recently as 2005 KY has fallen just short of the final four by Michigan St by 2 overtimes. No doubt Kentucky hasn't lived up to their potential the last two years, but it hasn't exactly been a "50 year" slide either.
  
  Answer:-While I do think Donovan should stay at Florida, I agree with what you're saying. People who say Kentucky is a crap job to take based on the past season or two is an idiot and knows absolutely jack about NCAA basketball.

I'm assuming you will probably end up between 5'7 and 6'0, which is pretty small, so you are going to have to work on your dribbling, 3 point shooting, and defense. Just work your tail off.   Answer:-It might help to get it authenticated, but you could list it with a memorabilia site or e-bay with a note that it can be sold pending this less any fees for doing so.
  A lot depends on the quality and condition of the ball as well. Most need to be in new condition and be cared for in a way that there is no wear on the signatures as well, but those type of things usually sell for more after more than a few years.
  I would suggest that if these are high quality balls and in good condition, that you buy a display case and keep them and wait and see when some of the players reach the height of their basketball life; then try to sell them later.

I miss Derrick Jasper. But, I think DeAndre Liggins is just like him. Do you remember Alex Legion who was supposed to be good and transferred from UK to Illinois in the middle of last season? Perry Stevenson is the unsung hero who gets over looked by many. Perry's a good ball player. I just can't wait for Darius Miller and DeAndre Liggins to get more experience. They are the future of UK basketball. Gillispie has some good recruits coming in next year named Daniel Orton, Jon Hood, and GJ Vilarino.   How are you shocked about USC being investigated?? For one look at their track record. This has come up numerous times with these sports in the last few years. The school is expected to win, so wouldn't surprise me if you have boosters demanding that the school better perform or else.....type mentality. So alot of pressure is on these coaches to perform. There have been multiple whistle blowers with this school paying athletes to join the program (have all been speculation) but it's enough for an open investigation.
