lord monckton

  • Question:-Why won't anyone debate Lord Christopher Monckton on global warming?
Lord Monckton proposed a challenge to Al Gore on the topic of global warming/climate change. Hasn't happened yet. If global warming is so easily proven by science, why won't Gore rise to the challenge?

Answer:-Because they are too afraid of the truth. The reality is that AGW is a poor and under supported theory.

  • Question:-How much would pay to see a debate between Algore and Lord Christopher Monckton?
I would love to see Lord Christopher Monckton wipe the floor with the false profit algore on the issue of globull sh!t warming.

Any chance of this debate happening?

Okay, how about one between James Hansen and Dr. Roy Spencer?

Answer:-Nothing. Neither is a qualified scientist.

Hansen against Spencer might actually be interesting. But I doubt any layperson would understand it adequately.

And, to accurately have a debate on global warming among scientists that reflects reality, it would have to be one "skeptical" scientist against 1000 mainstream scientists.

EVERY major scientific organization says global warming is mostly caused by us.

EDIT - Glad to see you liked my idea. Can I get Best Answer for it?

"did "EVERY" major scientific organization mail ballots to all of their members or did a handful of board members or staff 'vote' for them???"

The organizations can't take positions opposed by a significant number of their members. The American Institute of Petroleum Geologists found that out when their official position was that (mostly) man made global warming was unproven. Members were resigning in large numbers rather than suffer the stigma of belonging to an organization expressing such an ignorant view. The organization could not recruit new members from recent graduates for the same reason.
  • Question:-Did Lord Monckton successfully debunk the IPCC global warming report?
    http://www.aps.org/units/fps/newsletters/200807/monckton.cfm

Go down to the conclusion and understand that the IPCC is using junk science and shaping facts to fit their viewpoint, instead of letting facts shape their viewpoint.

    Answer:-Yep..

His conclusion is backed by the recent papers published by prominent climate scientists Dr Richard Lindzen and Dr Roy Spencer that use satellite DATA to PROVE the IPCC models (GUESSES) are WRONG on both the greenhouse effect and atmospheric sensitivity to CO2
  • Question:-Does Lord Monckton of Brenchley have the scientific training to properly research climate change?
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christopher_Monckton,_3rd_Viscount_Monckton_of_Brenchley

Is he qualified to reverse the findings of the National Academy of Sciences, APS, AGU, GSA, NASA, NOAA, The Royal Society (amound many others)?

Answer:-eric c - Actually, he does not have more credibility than Gore. His academic training is in journalism (same as Gore) and he was a politician (as was Gore). I'd say that puts his scientific "credibility" on an even par with Gores. So since you don't accept Gores proclamations about science, if you are intellectually honest you also will not accept Monckton's. Stick to what real climate scientists say, if you have any interest in the truth.

A reasonable person would clearly agree that this list of individuals (all active Climate Scientists from respectable Universities and/or research organizations) are far more credible than any journalist or politician:
    http://www.ccrc.unsw.edu.au/news/2007/Bali.html/
"The amount of carbon dioxide in our atmosphere now far exceeds the natural range of the past 650,000 years, and it is rising very quickly due to human activity. If this trend is not halted soon, many millions of people will be at risk from extreme events such as heat waves, drought, floods and storms, our coasts and cities will be threatened by rising sea levels, and many ecosystems, plants and animal species will be in serious danger of extinction."

    Edit:
bob - I'm not sure what question you're referring too when you mention my comment about the Swartz article being better written, but I do know that polish is far less valuable than accuracy and truth. And the Swartz article is in agreement with a heck of a lot more climate science research than Monckton's op-ed piece. Perhaps you like it so much because it agrees with you?
  • Question:-Why was Lord Christopher Monckton barred from congress?
    to speak about climate change.?

Republicans chose him as their, "celebrity witness" the same way Democrats chose Al Gore.

He was a former science advisor to Britain' s Margaret Thatcher.
Correction: He is a former science advisor to Britain's Margaret Thatcher.

Answer:-Because they knew he would have ripped Gore to shreds, and exposed his Global bulls**t,which is what it is! Good question, watch the left try to spin it!

  • Question:-Why was Lord Christopher Monckton barred from speaking?
at congress on climate change. What happened to free speech?

Is it not good enough that he was chosen as a Celebrity Witness the same way Al Gore was?

Why were they afraid of what the former science advisor to Margaret Thatcher might say.

It's interesting that they said nothing about it until they found out who the unnamed celebrity was.

Answer:-UK’s Lord Christopher Monckton, a former science advisor to Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, claimed House Democrats have refused to allow him to appear alongside former Vice President Al Gore at a high profile global warming hearing on Friday April 24, 2009 at 10am in Washington. Monckton told Climate Depot that the Democrats rescinded his scheduled joint appearance at the House Energy and Commerce hearing on Friday. Monckton said he was informed that he would not be allowed to testify alongside Gore when his plane landed from England Thursday afternoon.

“The House Democrats don’t want Gore humiliated, so they slammed the door of the Capitol in my face,” Monckton told Climate Depot in an exclusive interview. “They are cowards.”

…According to Monckton, House Democrats told the Republican committee staff earlier this week that they would be putting forward an unnamed ‘celebrity’ as their star witness Friday at a multi-panel climate hearing examining the House global warming bill. The “celebrity” witness turned out to be Gore. Monckton said the GOP replied they would respond to the Democrats’ “celebrity” with an unnamed “celebrity” of their own. But Monckton claims that when the Democrats were told who the GOP witness would be, they refused to allow him to testify alongside Gore.
  • Question:-When will Al Gore debate Lord Christopher Monckton over the warming scam?
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=stij8sUybx0
pegminer, why racially offensive, was it racially offensive when a cartoon of Bush made up like the Joker was published?

Answer:-Al Gore knows he would lose therefore he will not debate.
  • Question:-Why is Lord Monckton still thought to be credible?
When he has been thoroughly discredited.
    http://www.stthomas.edu/engineering/jpabraham/

Answer:-Because Abraham's accusations are based on lies and misquotations.

    http://www.cfact.tv/ (see Monkton refutes Abraham)

Jeff: Moncton was responding to the lies in Al Gore's movie. Gore says melting ice will cause a 20 foot sea level rise. In Moncton's presentation he says that is a lie and that melting ice will only cause a 6cm sea level rise. If people think that sea level rise will only come from melting glaciers, where do you think they are getting this information from? From skeptics? Or from environmentalists and the media?

As for polar bears, they are indeed adapting to a new climate as peer reviewed studies show.

  • Question:-What do you think of the Lord Monckton/Al Gore spoof rap battle on climate change?
This is an extremely well written bit that is performed in the style of a news broadcast.

Obviously Al Gore has no intentions of actually debating anyone on this subject.

So what do you think of the spoof??

    http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/blog/2009/nov/26/al-gore-lord-monckton-rap-battle

Monckton: The IPCC are Marxist trapeze artists, bleeding the free market. We're the target! They'll keep us herded in corners: one currency, one government, a new world order.

Gore: Better than the coroner, Let this fact just sink in: World. Unite, or face the sixth mass extinction, a feedback cycle, the death of the Gulf Stream. We need 'clean coal' or it's the end of the Holocene.

Monckton: That's just postulated, we've got to collate it. Secretly these people want the earth depopulated, a communist dictatorship, a way station, good Christians killed by UN troops and Aids patients.

Gore: You strain my patience, you scaremonger.

Monckton: It's freedom they're plundering, and you're the scaremonger king!

Gore: I got my Nobel prize, I was nearly the president.

Monckton: I share that prize for revealing this evidence.

Gore: You got a pin melted down from a physics experiment.

Monckton: You're a pin melted down from a physics experiment.

Foster: Lord Monckton! Let me hear from you. Have any of your articles been peer-reviewed?

Monckton: Well, no, but the SPPI has published a few.

Foster: The Science and Public Policy Institute. Their chief policy adviser happens to be who?

    Monckton: Well, me.

Foster: You? So you publish you. I think we've heard enough from you. People, please, research the truth. Nowadays it isn't tough to do. Mr Gore.

Gore: Robert, we need global governance: A new world order to replace local governments.

Foster: And I suppose who better to comprise it than the very same people who altered the climate.

    Gore: Sure, who else?

    Answer:-I was impressed!!
