"The House passed a resolution reaffirming that the nation’s motto remains “In God We Trust” on a 396-9 vote today.

"The resolution does not change existing law. Instead, it expresses the sense of the House that the motto remains the same and should be displayed in public places.

“In God We Trust” has been the nation’s motto since 1957. Rep. Randy Forbes (R-Va.), who sponsored the bill, said it was needed “to firmly declare our trust in God, believing that it will sustain us for generations to come.”

"Although the resolution does not create any binding law, its consideration cost more than $215,000 in Members’ salaries and floor operation costs, and Democrats ridiculed the decision to bring up the measure."

    Answer:-
  • Question:-In God We Trust. Really?
Today Congress spent 35 minutes debating whether to reaffirm that our national motto is "In God We Trust." If the measure passed, our national motto would be "In God We Trust." If the measure failed, current US law would stand and "In God We Trust" would have been our national motto.

This is what Congress has time for these days, when they're NOT PASSING bills to help our economy, put people to work or ANY OTHER important purpose.

Should we fire them all next November?

    Answer:-
  • Question:-Cons, how does reaffirming "In God We Trust" create jobs? Have you guys just given up?

Wanda: So if I don't agree with you or share your exact same beliefs I should leave the country? Yeah you're a great patriot.

    Answer:-
  • Question:-Doesn't the motto "In God We Trust" violate the first amendment?
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion. Just because the motto makes no mention to a specific god doesn't mean its not a religious thing. Obviously, the religious right, the ones who passed it, are talking about their god.

Why don't we return to "E Pluribus Unum"?
