Website SEO and Internet Marketing

Often after I complete a website for a client the first question I receive is how can I drive more traffic to a site. The second question is how much will it cost me. The truth is you can't expect to build a site, load into onto the web and viola! everyone flocks to your site. If you have built a strong website then you have only completed the first step toward internet marketing success. Your next steps requires you to establish an internet marketing strategy. This strategy can include anything from social media marketing to email campaigns to media planning to search engine optimization (Website SEO). In my experience, website SEO offers the highest return on investment however it is also the most expensive and time consuming form of internet marketing.
So, the question becomes how much should you invest in Website SEO? The answer to the question really depends on what your goal is for your website. If you really want to fine tune you budget you need to crunch some numbers. It's important to determine how many visitors to your site it takes to get a sale is worth. Speaking on average, most small or medium sized businesses spend $500 to $1,500 a month on Website SEO work.
To many small businesses this seems like a large expense - and it is. But the return on investment can be great. The truth is you can't expect to build a site, load into onto the web and viola! everyone flocks to your site. In my experience,  The bottom line is that if you want your website to really work for you, you need to market it to the world. Today it is just as (if not more) important to market online as it is to marketing in the non-internet world. Driving traffic to a well positioned website is the foundation of internet marketing and is well worth the expense.
